This place really wants to be a 5 star restaurant. And almost is, but not quite. Relaxed friendly environment. Solid food. Nice wine selection. Bit pricey. Had cocktail at bar before dinner. Very tight. Too many chairs. Bartender was friendly, and pours a good drink. Atmosphere: Relaxed Italian. A bit rustic. Almost a bit cheesy, but good for variety of things. We had business dinner in suits. Felt comfortable. Another table looked like a job interview. Then there were 2 casually dressed fmailies. All blended well. Service: Top notch, You are the customer and what ever you want, they do with a smile. Great recommendations. Food: Solid. 100% solid. Tried multiple pasta dishes. Great gnocchi. Seafood soup good, but needed a bit more flavor and spice. Only complaint: Signage. Tough to find in strip mall. Had to call from parking lot to find entracne.

Be warned that a reservation means nothing here, and it was our anniversary, so it meant something. A walk-in had been seated at our table and we had to stand in the entry for close to half an hour, ducking wait staff. The hostess was an overconfident, indifferent teenage snot, more interested in hanging with bar patrons than greeting diners. We almost walked out. On the positive, our waiter was a delight — thoroughly versed on the menu and libations, adept at creating a moment surrounding a meal, and very personable(keen eye to our needs before we knew them, and exactly the right amount of interaction). The lamb chops were fantastic and the saltimbocca was quite good(though not epic, like at Trattoria Funistrada near TC). For dessert, we were delighted that our tiramisu had a cocoa heart on it to commemorate our special day — a nice cap to the meal. The food was superb in flavor and preparation, and we thoroughly enjoyed the jazz trio. The chef and wait staff get 5 stars, but the greeting needs serious work.

I lived in Europe, love Italy and Italian Cuisine. This is by far the best Italian food I’ve ever had in the U.S. With that being said I almost fell out of my chair to see that my two glasses of Prosecco cost 34 dollars. Yes, 34 dollars. More expensive than any glass of Prosecco I could imagine purchasing in the notoriously expensive Switzerland. More expensive than their delightful pasta. Certainly their moderately priced menu is compensated by the disgustingly expensive drink menu. To me, I just felt like that was a bit of a hustle by the owner. Other than than, the food is incredible. But felt a little cheated with the cost of Prosecco. seriously?!

Very good Italian food, appetizers, and drinks. This is a classy place but priced like its on 2nd Avenue in Manhattan when its really parked under a Fitness 19. For the Rochester /North Oakland County area, this is probable the best Italian food you will find. I’ve never been disappointed with the food or drinks. It’s a well appointed environment and deserves to be dressed nice for. Chain restaurant lovers please keep away with your cutoff shorts and flip flops. The wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu and gives just the right amount of attention to your table. But regarding the staff, now the bad news. They are a bit aloof. Honestly, I feel like they push their accents under the guise of being authentic. Even when you show up and the restaurant is empty you will be greeted by a «do you have a reservation?» as if the tables are in short demand on Tuesday at 530pm. Overall, its a great place but somewhat overpriced because of its location. They staff really does a great job less the showmanship. But in the end, that part just makes me chuckle.

This place was a good Italian experience. There’s a lot about this restaurant to like… especially the handmade pastas. You just have to go and try it out. The owner, Vito, is pretty cool too.

This place was overpriced. It’s decent food but nothing outta this world. Charcuterie was kinda lame for an Italian place. Entrée dishes at my table were hit or miss. Our waiter was in a really foul mood and ended up randomly getting replaced with another better guy mid-meal. Cool and cozy environment.

The best Italian restaurant in Oakland county. Celebrated my wife’s birthday. High end, high price, but worth every cent. Outstanding service, unique menu, friendly owner and wait staff. Menu items you just don’t see anywhere else. Braciola, Paglia E Fieno, and most pasta dishes made with freshly made pasta. Excellent!!!

Made a reservation the day before and got an outstanding table for 6:30. The place quickly filled up perhaps due to the food and service, which is outstanding. Wine list is robust with plenty of choices and we chose a full bodied red. Main dishes: Sea bass Fresh pasta(three different dishes) Finished with Cream brûlée Chocolate cake Outstanding service and the food was fabulous

After finding the place, we were seated promptly, unfortunately our table was right next to the kitchen entrance. I immediately asked to relocate to another six top and was told that it could not be done. Fortunately, the owner was in «earshot» and stated that we could move. Cudo’s for him! I suppose it was my unlucky night. My wife and I ordered cocktails, which arrived promptly. I was in the mood for a vodka martini, up with cheese olives. Perfect, until I ordered another. The next one came back dirty. When I explained this to the server, he apologized and quickly sent the drink back. 5 minutes later he arrives with another drink. One taste and it is dirty again! Geez. How does this happen? Now for the meal– Before I comment on my dish, I would like to say that the rest of my party thoroughly enjoyed their entrée’s. I ordered the capresse’ salad and the veal chop. The tomatoes on my plate were ice cold and the chop was heavily smothered in a cream based mushroom sauce. There was so much sauce on my plate that I had to search for the chop. I have ordered veal chops many times in the past, but never had one presented to me like this. Absolutely, no searing… just a chop laying in its side, steeped in sauce. The chop was garnished with two sides, julienne style carrots that were cold and potatoes, also cold. As I stated earlier, the stars must not have been aligned for me. I will give the place one more shot. Only because the rest of my party enjoyed their measl and the owner went out of his way to make us happy.

Another great dinner here at Silver Spoon. Why not 5 stars? I had a fantastic piece of fish. However, $ 40.00 is why to ridiculous. I will come back. But next time I will ask the price of the daily special.

Food: Fantastic, Fresh, Healthy Price: Comparable to other restaurants of this quality. After a few bottles of wine who even looks at the bill. Atmosphere: Cute place that is tastefully decorated. I love their outdoor seating. Service: Great service and always a kind word from the host. Overall a fantastic place for a special occasion or a business dinner to impress. There is one day of the week that I prefer above all others. Which day is it you ask — you will need to figure it our for yourself. Hint: its not the weekend.

The most authentic Italian food in Michigan! Everything I’ve had so far has been delicious. The gnocchi literally melts in your mouth. Everything is super fresh and homemade. For the quality of their food, they are pretty inexpensive. The service is hit or miss sometimes, but the food makes up for it. The owner is super friendly and took care of the service issue quickly. My go to Italian restaurant for sure!

Simply, THE best Italian joint in Metro Detroit area not named Bacco. In spite of its unfortunate placement on the corner of a grocery store parking lot, the interior is tastefully decorated and suave intimate. Service is casual friendly and impeccable. Excellent wine list. The pasta trio appetizer is not on the menu — but is a must. Every pasta dish, meat/fish entry on menu and on special we tried have been perfectly prepared and served. If so inclined, try their fish, deboned and served table side par excellence. Bravo!

Very, very, very disappointed. Don’t show up hungry. Service was soooo slow. Food arrived and was portioned for a 6 year old. on the bright side, I ordered a side of asparagus that tasted good and actually was portioned for an adult. No drinks. Bill was $ 200 for 4 people. I would go to Lellies for fine Italian dining.

Great Food. Good Service. Good Ambiance. Poor Price. I would have easily given this place 5 stars if it weren’t overpriced. My wife ordered the veal special(no price was mentioned) — $ 45. A very small side of spinach– $ 9 A small entrée of pappardelle with mushrooms– $ 30 All-in-all, I hope to be back… when someone else is picking up the check.

The food was good-hence the 2 stars, but i did not enjoy the service provided. I don’t mind paying a big bill if the food and customer service makes up for it and more importantly you end having a great time… this was not the case last night. The first time I tried to have dinner in this place, they could not seat us because it was a «private customer and friends» dinner… I found out about it because of a facebook post by the restaurant about this dinner; the post did not indicated this and it was a public post. I posted about the no seat in their facebook page as a feedback to the situation and my comment was not rude. Of course they didn’t mind… No response. Then last night a friend invited me and decided to give another try, but after last night there won’t be another visit. Lastly, when in Italy I felt more welcomed there(Venice, Tuscany, Florence, Rome) than in this restaurant; so it was sad to see a snobby customer service in here.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to celebrate a welcome and needed date night. We decided to try Silver Spoon. We had been in the restaurant one prior time but the circumstances weren’t great. It was crowded, we were(we thought) underdressed and seated next to the restrooms. We chose to leave before ordering. But this evening we had planned appropriately and were looking for an upscale, quiet dining experience. On a Monday night we were fortunate. There were only 3 or 4 other couples there. The place is pleasant enough and on this night so empty it was quiet and uncrowded. On another evening(like our first visit) the space could easily be claustrophobic with a full house. The main room is long and thin, it’s just not a great space. Our waiter was helpful as we negotiated the menu. I ordered some Riesling which was tasty but a bit pricey at $ 9 per glass. From reading other reviews I knew prices were high and portions small. We were famished so we ordered appetizers. My wife had the standard garden salad, which if anything was too large. I ordered the polenta Gorgonzola. Both came quickly. I found the polenta to be good but not great. It came on a bed of marinara which I found a bit odd. The polenta was grainier than I expected but the Gorgonzola whip was quite nice. My wife liked her taste of my marinara, which would become important later. The food took a little long in getting to us, but we were enjoying our time alone. She had ordered the special which was House made fettucini with beef tips and mushrooms and a wine and marinara sauce. The marinara here was very thin and as a result she didn’t really care for the sauce. She asked the waiter for some extra marinara which he delivered promptly. We both found her selection to be just okay, even with the extra marinara. I had the special mixed grill(see pic). I had been craving some lamb and was going to order their market price chops. But the option of the mixed grill offered lamb, steak, chicken, veal, and sausage. Sounded great and it wasn’t bad by any means. It came with a ‘really you must be kidding’ small portion of mashed potatoes and some greens beans and stewed tomato. Everything tasted good, but there really wasn’t enough of it. The lamb simply elevated my itch. A little more potatoes would have been welcome. They were very tasty. The waiter took our dessert order. I wanted some limoncello and my lovely wife was game to try the panna cotta with mixed berries. She was less than pleased with her selection later but the waiter gamely offered her something else. She took the chocolate gelato and was pleased with the extra cocoa powder and cacao nibs. I was a little disappointed that the limoncello didn’t come in an ice shot glass as seen elsewhere on Unilocal. The drink itself was tasty with ample punch. I think the waiter comped us on some of the dessert, which was very kind. That said the bill with tip likely would have approached $ 150. The dinner itself, though good, was not a $ 150 value. Our experience was quite good. The waiter and setting was pleasant on a quiet night. The food was not bad by any means, but also not as good as we were hoping for given the reviews and word of mouth we’ve gotten.(BTW we’ve dined in Italy and know what to expect from the real thing). I’d award a solid 3.5 for our first trip. Rounds to 4. We’ll try again another time. I still want to try their vaunted gnocchi.

Old world Italia came to Rochester. Silver Spoon is a very quaint, gourmet, quality ristorante which will not disappoint. Literally a ‘hidden gem’, this place is nestled in the corner of a plaza w Papa Joe’s, the Hills & BodyBronze tanning. You have to squint at the sign by the outdoor patio to find it. Fresh baked bread is served with red pepper Olive oil & homemade bold olive tapenade. Service is outstanding & very professional. Decent wine selection & full, extensive bar, decorated with corks. I ordered a pasta dish with mini meatballs, simple tomato sauce & ribbon pasta. My dish was bursting with flavor. Also a side of asparagi alla parmigiana… covered in olive oil & the right amount of parmesan. A little on the small side, but that only creates a more intimate atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back & try dessert!
