First: The food and drinks are simply excellent. We dine at Lino’s frequently and the quality is always excellent. They serve REAL Italian food, The waiters are friendly and helpful working hard to please you. No restaurant is perfect every time, but they come pretty darn close to it.

This place is nicer inside than pictures show. While the color scheme, silk florals, and coloring book stained glass are, shall we say, vintage(not to be confused with retro), the fireplace and cozy booths certainly made up for that. The waiter was Italian and was very knowledgeable and attentive. We tried the chicken cacciatore(delicious!) and veal al limone(tangy and savory). The veal was a little overcooked, but it was still good. The roasted potatoes were amazing. Bottom line: solid Italian food and great service.

The last visit left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I had eaten there a few times, previously; and the décor, although dated, is warm and the food is good — gnocchi with Gorgonzola is one of my all-time favorites. We chose this place to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The server told us, right off the bat, that the last of the oysters(which we had been looking forward to for days) were being saved for another party. We like a kind and generous staff and this left us feeling… small and unimportant as paying customers, let alone paying customers celebrating a first wedding anniversary. It would have been better to phrase this another way, and although I’m no stranger to putting my foot in my mouth, he was absolutely unapologetic. We ordered something else and, frankly, after that statement, the food felt mediocre. A huge part of the experience at a restaurant like this is the service and our initial interface was unprofessional and, figuratively, the ice water poured on our evening. I really do like this restaurant, however, it’s a long drive for us and there are so many other great Italian restaurants in the area that this bitter experience will probably be enough to keep us from visiting again. :(

Craving Italian a few weeks ago. This place is close by. Menu online but no prices. They need to add that. Called in and the bartender was super busy-she was rushing me. Ordered chic Alfredo, side salad, kids gnocchi and a cheesecake and cannoli. Boyfriend picked it up-thankfully they didn’t mess up the order, we had a few special requests. They have a cute romantic inside and would make a great date night! Carry out was great-need to go to the bar and sometimes they can get busy. Boyfriend said chix Alfredo was great. I had the kids gnocchi and was ok. Sauce needed something. Cheese cake wow. Wow. Wow. Cannoli was ehhhh. I’ve had better. It was big, but missing the choc chips and was soggy. Overall would go back but dine in!

1st time at Linos. The service was good. Food overpriced. Fish not fresh. Restaurant décor old. Not impressed. Will not be back. Will not refer people here for a night out.

Took my girlfriend here for Valentines day and was very disappointed. Our service was just about the worst you could have expected. Our server was an older Italian man, seemed more like a bartender, and never gave his name or even said happy Valentines day. Everything we needed something I had to flag him down like for silverware, a straw(I guess it’s not standard for straws to be used?), drink refills, didn’t even bother asking for more bread. He never asked how our food was and rudely grabbed the signed bill before we left the table. It’s not like they were busy either as we watched him standing and talking to other employees. We went here before for Valentines day and loved it, now we will never go back again.

Amazing food and staff! They do get busy at nights, reservations are recommended. They could also have a bit more servers to help out during there busy nights, but overall excellent time!

Go here quite often. Anniversary is really a special place for us. Celebrated our 65 th Anniversary on Nov 19, 2015! What. Wonderful dinner, it always is. It they knew it was our. Anniversary and even though it was fantastic that is the way we always feel about Lino’s. Both of us ordered the baked Brie which was ok, should have stuck with the calamari which they prepare better than any place we have ever had it. Both of us ordered the Veal with morel mushrooms in a red wine sauce, FANTASTIC! We were definitely celebrating! Different times we have had various pasta dishes all excellent. Also the pollo(chicken). All of them are terrific. Same goes with the beef and fish dishes. They go have a Tiramisu that is to die for. Brittany was our waitress and handled service beautifully. We would personally like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Lino for always providing the best there is! Highly Recommend!

Needs to be said that my wife and I have been coming here for 20yrs. It will be a special place for us, but only sentimentally at this point. The calamari are always nice and tender, not over cooked, but served with cocktail sauce from a jar? Warm bread and butter are nice. Service ranges from ok to ok, food is really nothing more than ok now too. Rack of lamb was tough, ribeye is thin and flavorless and served with no mushrooms, no onions, nothing but a little piece of meat than needs a bit of salt and pepper, mashed potatoes almost feel mixed with red skins and instant, green beans were ok. They were scooped on a small plate, green beans were hanging off and some dragging on the table. This was at one point a solid place for good food, but feels like someone needs a bit of passion. We’ve been back a few times just hoping that it was a rough period, only to be disappointed. We won’t be back for a long time, but hopefully next time someone has brought a bit of passion back to the uninspired food, service and wine menu.

Live musicon weekends. Italian food was so-so. The service was great. The best part which I loved is there bread and salad. Their pasta was only decent and felt as if it wasn’t fresh. The raviolis were lukewarm and lacking taste. I felt I had to put pepper and salt on everything. I must say, I had better. This is not the best Italian food in Rochester. I have yet to eat in one. Overpriced Italian food. It’s a skip for me.

Had one of the best Italian meals in a long time. The best meatballs I ever had. The seafood linguine was awesome. Great service as always.

Based on Unilocal reviews and the close proximity to home, and the craving for Italian food, we gave Lino’s a try. Seated quickly, first impression was good, the place is clean, nice ambiance, and quick service. Our waiter wasn’t overly friendly, but he was very efficient and did his job well. The food was very good, the portions are relatively small, but to be honest the food is rich and very filling, so what appeared to smaller portions really weren’t an issue. All in all good meal, and a good experience.

Went here the night before my friend’s wedding, and I must say it was great. The food was excellent, from the salad to the shrimp scampi to my main meal of chicken pasta(I can’t remember the exact name; I was drinking champagne and wine and whiskey; I swear I don’t have a problem.) The tiramisu was pretty amazing, though! The décor was nice, had an authentic feel. The servers were also quite friendly. I’d like to come back again and try the other good food.

My husband and I came on a Saturday after a visit to Great Lakes Crossing. We called ahead to ensure they had space, and made a reservation. When we got in, we were immediately greeted and told to sit in the bar area because they have a lot of reservations that night… even though I’d called a half hour earlier and made a reservation. The bar was cramped and loud. The owner(I’m assuming, because everyone called him Lino) was drunk and obnoxious, along with his customers/buddies at the counter. Of course, for a bar, this is acceptable, but we didn’t have a choice of sitting in there. The server was cold toward us from the time we sat down and seemed to treat us differently than the other patrons. We don’t even look like poor punk kids anymore, so I’m not sure why the shit attitude toward us. She was definitely friendlier to the older patrons in the bar. The food was just okay. I ordered chicken Parmesan with a side of spaghetti. The chicken breasts were small, and I couldn’t find any breading anywhere. The chicken wasn’t even seasoned with salt! I make better chicken Parm at home from a recipe I found online, honestly. I was insulted to pay $ 18 for a flavorless chicken meal. The spaghetti and meat sauce was super-good, though and was a saving grace. Jake got a creamy Sherry sauce chicken pasta meal, which was good, but very rich. We ended up trading meals because the cream of his meal was too much for him, and he said the chicken was bland and he wished I didn’t eat all the spaghetti! I would have had a better meal and time at Olive Garden.
