You know the saying«quantity doesn’t mean quality». This saying does not apply to this restaurant. Chadd’s has a very varied menu, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The only down side is it is a bit pricy for a sandwich. They’re all about $ 8-$ 9. Also if you use your debit/credit card they charge you an extra $ 2.

We had to try this place out due to the 5 star reviews. The sandwiches were fantastic. Fries were great. Sauces yummy. Hahaha. I’m writing this and my mouth is watering. Had the turkey Reuben. Try a carry out and you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent. Fresh. Food… All homemade sauces. The employees are always pleasant and genuinely want to be working there. The sweet potato fries are the bomb. LOVE this place.

With the recent price increase and the fact my last Reuben was ¾ sour kraut — ¼ corned beef I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. Nice guys, typically good sammies and such. I wish them the best in the future.

Amazing! We had turkey Reuben and seasoned fries. So good. You have to wait a bit for them to make the food, so be prepared to wait. It was well worth the wait, though! We’ll be back!

This place rules. The only thing I could possibly fault them for is frequently hearing that my order won’t be ready for an hour, but if the only complaint is «the food is so damn good, everyone wants it,» then it’s not really a complaint, is it? If this place was in Detroit, you’d hear a LOT more about it. Personally, I’d love it if they expanded and opened another bistro in Hamtramck. We’re about to have a «hole» in our«food map» when Rock City moves. I’d throw these guys a frickin’ party if they took over the space.

Had a visit to Chadd’s Bistro that had been on our short list for way too long and finally went there for lunch today. 5-stars is rare, unless it is a new place with one or two reviews(friends and relatives) so with over 200 reviews and still 5-stars it seemed like an anomaly that we had to try for ourselves. We were not disappointed! Not sure what to say that hasn’t already been said… didn’t even take any pictures because they would just be lost in the crowd(think the entire menu must be already represented). My wife ordered the Lemon Pepper Seafood Salad and a cup of the Potato Bacon Soup. I ordered the Skinny John(or Juan or ??, Skinny something) and a cup of the Ham & Bean Soup. Couldn’t order any Hand Cut Fries because the fryer wasn’t working-and that is the only negative thing I can say about Chadd’s Bistro. The salad was loaded with fresh ingredients, the dressing was perfect, and the Blue Fin Tuna was done perfectly-not too dry as most places seem to make it. Both soups were delicious(I think we both slightly favored the Potato Bacon Soup because all I got was two small bites). My sandwich was everything that a grilled sandwich should be-crunch in the bread, piled high with Pastrami, the Slaw and Dressing were really great and unique with a slight heat to the dressing. Whenever we are in the mood for a grilled sandwich(huge selection by the way) or a really fresh salad we know where to go… and maybe we’ll get to try some Fries with that next time. Great place, great food, great staff!

It was our first time here and we were amazed at the number of sandwiches offered. We ordered the Skinny John and the B.L.T. And they were absolutely delicious! The breads used were fresh from the bakery and enhanced the flavor each of the sandwiches. The regular fries were to die for as well as the sweet potato fries. The wait staff was quick and aiming to please. There was no problem if you wanted to customize your sandwich. The place is small with only a handful of tables with more seating at the counter so at lunchtime it can get crowded. Don’t let that stop you from coming here. The line moves fast and the wait is well worth it.

Best thing you can get to a crazy, awesome, unique sandwich shop in non-hipster community. Prepared to be wowed if you’re unfamiliar with concocting mind blowing yet genius combinations. They are also available to customize any order to fit your inventions from your crazier mind. Feast away fools… something about credit card % fee but it’s worth it.

I was at the Troy Beaumont Hospital and searched nearby on Unilocal… and magic ensued. Ok. So they say«Hunger is the best cook.» Well, Chadd’s had that going for them when I stepped in the door. Tired and hungry from a long hospital visit, I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised by what I got. I ordered the Reuben. A simple classic. People think that sticking with a classic is «safe.» Like, «I’ll get the burger, they can’t screw that up.» I beg to differ. I think sticking with a classic can be the most unsafe way to go. See, with classics, you already have your preset definition of what that dish is all about. This is where Chadd’s knocked it out of the park. I LOVEREUBENS. I’d buy a T-Shirt donning the slogan, that’s how much I love a good reuben. So I was beside myself with glee when Chadd’s not only delivered, but to the point where I was pinching myself that I had gotten so lucky. There really isn’t much more to say. When something is right, it’s right. Grab a Reuben from Chadd’s and set a new bar. I need to go back. I’m salivating as I write this.

Many people are giving Chadd’s 5 stars. I think they are overrating the place. While it is a good place to enjoy a sandwich every now and then, the food is very fatty and is just average.

yum, yum, yum! I moved to the Detroit area 4 months ago, and Im here for just a short time. And I am just happy that this place is so close to me! Pros: Crazy selection of sandwiches Everything is fresh no frozen bags of anything being used Portions are huge everything is made to order All the guys that work there are crazy nice it’s close to me(maybe not a pro for everyone but for me hell’s yes) Cons: I really can’t think of any, this is an absolute first! Two of my Favorites: Hardcore Joe w/avocados(bc if everyone loved avocados the world would be a better place) And a Turkey Sub which I forgot the name but it had avocados(imagine that) and it didn’t have a lot going on but it was huge and loaded with ingredients and tasty! Even their avocado spread is made with fresh avocado’s mashed up with a little salt(I’m trying to set a record for how many times I can say avocado in one review, i’m smirking at the moment, no shame at all, I blame avocados HA)!!! They even offer a combo special with super crispy extra tasty fries(made there as well) and a bottled drink! There is a reason why this place has such high ratings, it’s just that hella good!

I have been wanting to try this place for a looooong time and I finally got a chance to. It was actually five miles down the street from me. A nice straight shot down to delicious sandwiches. Coming from Ann Arbor and loving Zingermans Deli, I’ve been wanting another good sandwich place. Chadd’s Bistro offers up some original sandwiches with their own twist. They make all of their sauces in house and cut up their meats in house as well. For a small place in a little plaza they serve up quite the menu. Their menu is so big that it’s a bit tough to choose what delicious sandwich to eat. They have sides like fresh cut French fries, sweet potato fries, and poutine. They have salads and a ginormous list of sandwiches AND subs. You should look at the menu before you go in or it may take you some time. The place is small. When it gets busy you either take it to go or go eat outside since there’s about four tables and three diner seats. It can get congested and it’s not a place to sit and chat because you have hungry people stabbing you with their eyes wanting you to leave. Anyway, to the food… My sandwich was really good. I had the truth which is pastrami, tomato, onions, lettuce, honey mustard and Swiss on rye. I switched up the cheese to cheddar and added the yellow peppers. It was pretty tasty. Next time I get the little john. My friend got the hardcore Joe. I saw a lot of photos on Unilocal and they all looked good. The sandwich looked good and the ingredients sounded dynamite… But when eating it… It fell flat. When the description says spicy… Well you expect spicy. This lacked flavor. I don’t know if it was how they cooked the chicken or not enough jalapeños but it was a bit bland. Based on this order alone I wouldn’t get this sandwich again, but I would order up one of the other ones so it doesn’t deter me from coming back. Both the regular fries and sweet potato fries were ordered. Why? Because why not. Life’s too short to have fry regrets. They came with their own sauces, a house made ketchup and chadd’s bistro sauce and a cinnamon. All were pretty good. I am giving this place 4 star because of the hardcore Joe not delivering the spice and some general service snafus. Also, I just didn’t think it was on par with Zingermans, which is still my fave. However I’ll change the rating after I go again and try more sandwiches. Go try them. They do have good sandwiches. I paid 13 dollars for a sandwich, fries and a coke not including tip… It’s kind of pricey but if you want a decent sandwich you’ll pay it. Try Zingermans if you haven’t, Franks street or Mudgies too if you like sandwiches. Then you can compare.

Love the sandwiches. Trying to eat my eay through the entire menu. The sweet potato fries are so good with the cinnamon butter. I tried Alyssa Avocado this time and it was wonderful. Fresh with a generous amount of avocado.

Found this place on Unilocal and had to give it a try. Damn glad I did! Ambiance: Small shop with a cool vibe. Definitely felt welcome from the moment I walked in. Of course that could’ve also been from the wonderful smell of the food that radiated throughout the shop. Service: Chris was awesome. He guided us through the menu and recommended a soda that was unique. Now I’m not a soda-pop guy but the Rock & Rye by his recommendation was, much to my surprise, pretty dang good. Food:A colleague and friend of mine and I couldn’t decide between the Hardcore Joe, which was Cajun spiced grilled chicken with grilled jalapeño, muenster cheese and all the fixings, and the Reuben with its homemade dressing so to Chris’s recommendation we split it so we both got half of each. Both were awesome but I really liked the home made corned beef of the Reuben just a little bit more. The fires were excellent! Cleanliness: Freshly wiped tables and counter and clean floors despite it being packed. Overall: This small joint clearly rates all 5 Stars and is a must stop for a sandwich and conversation with the staff or a few friends. I’ll be back!!!

Sometimes the little hole in the walls offer sweet surprises! Truly a delicious sandwich, I had the«Chadd’s Tremendous Brunch.» Bring your A appetite game as it’s truly a huge and meant to please the hardest of appetites. I only ate $ 5.00 worth, meaning only half. I know, light weight! It’s a $ 9.99 sandwich. They have quality bread, meat, cheese, etc. It reminded me of Iverson’s in Ann Arbor only at half the cost cheaper. Make any sandwich a meal for $ 2.00 dollars, even subway is more expensive. My husband got the«Salmon Fromage» with light cajun seasoning and he throughly enjoyed it also. The fries reminded me of Five Guys, handcut fries with sea salt. Honestly, I was disappointed with the sauces that accompanied the fries as I had high hopes from the other reviews. First, their homemade«bistro sauce» was way too bitter, too much mustard for our tastes. And their homemade«ketchup» was more tomato paste taste and consistency and didn’t stick to the fries. I wish they would give out Hienz packets. They do have half sandwich and soup combo for $ 7.00, there’s 5 sandwiches to pick from but they’re the cheaper deli sandwich selections. I’m looking forward to returning and trying everything from the«Grilled PB& Banana» to the«Philly Cheese Steak». The staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and patient as we were ordering amateurs.

Once again, pure delight & excellence. All of my previous visits have been carryout, which have been very good, as CHADD’S food travels well! Friday 2−13−15, we were both out on separate appointments and meeting at CHADD’S seemed perfect & it was! Arrived at 4:55, and beat the Friday Night Dinner crowd, Derek beyond being super friendly, polite & very helpful guided us to some great choices. We each started with cups of French Onion Soup & I tried the chili (since CHADD’s does not have an oven to broil the soup in a crock, they have a unique flair with some grilled swiss!) My Chili was very sturdy-flavorful & the spice-heat it produced was not scorched earth, but a nice more than mild heat. Then we each ordered the Corned Beef Sliders, with homemade dressing & slivers of onions on a light-airy roll A+ We shared a natural cut fry with the homemade dipping sauce & homemade ketchup WOWZA! Derek tried to twist our arms for a homemade beverage or dessert, but we were more than full. Dinner for 2 All flavorful &homemade $ 11.50 **Just a note 3% up charge is you use your credit card but no complaint from me, he is a small independent business man

Original, That’s Chadds bistro. The sandwiches they offer are unique and fresh. Everything’s cooked to order. For this area they really are a break from the commercial gfs restaurants. They really are a fresh break from the sun and sandwich shops. The wait sometimes can be long, but it for a good reason they are usually packed. Almost everything at Chadds is home made. They make all there own sauces including ketchup. They grind the meat for burgers. They make all the soups. They don’t buy deli meat, they smoke meat and slice it themselves. After talking with one of the chefs, I was really surprised and happy how much they make.

I changed my mind. GETINMYMOUTH, CHADD’S!(Notice the apostrophe and ‘S’, please and thanks) Chadd’s has only gotten better each time I’ve gone. Maybe my sandwich choices have just been better… anyway, it doesn’t get much better than Chadd’s. I’ve had: Fat Steve, Cajun Steak Sub, Hardcore Joe(x3), Luke’s Lemon Pepper Chicken, Buffalo Chicken Sub, Cheesesteak Supreme, BBQ Chicken Sub, Reuben, Rajin’s Kamikazi, Smokey Kyle, Chicken Bacon Ranch, Mushroom Steak Sub, and Cuban as mains. I’ve also had their poutine, and regular and sweet potato fries, as well as the beer cheese, tomato basil, french onion, stuffed pepper, and split bean soups… plus their chili. The Fat Steve was alright, but the Cajun Steak Sub and Hardcore Joe were awesome. The Luke’s Lemon Pepper Chicken was also really good, but not as lemon peppery as I was hoping. The Buffalo Chicken Sub was fantastic, but definitely the messiest thing I’ve had at Chadd’s — then again, I’m not sure there’s any sandwich to get here that won’t start dribbling down to your elbows. The Cheesesteak Supreme was, of course, also delicious as all hell. The BBQ Chicken Sub is also excellent, even if I found the sauce to be a little bit too sweet for my liking. The reuben was one of the best I’ve eaten. The regular fries and bistro sauce are good too — the bistro sauce is sometimes a little inconsistent, but it’s good no matter the day, assuming you like mustard. The sweet potato fries and the cinnamon butter dipping sauce is half-like dessert with your meal. Chadd’s also occasionally has poutine on the menu. I’ve had some better poutine, but Chadd’s is still excellent. The soups have been mostly above average — I like the beer cheese most, and tomato basil second. The french onion’s not awful, but I’m used to the melted cheese on top … they don’t do that here. The chili is surprisingly(or not-so-surprisingly) great here. Super thick and seasoned nicely. The stuffed pepper soup I had wasn’t bad, but my least favorite of them all so far. Chadd’s Bistro has some«solid» soup, but Chomp’s(in downtown Rochester) soups have been a bit better. The food’s great, the workers are super friendly and seem to recognize everybody, and the food is served pretty quickly despite being cooked to order. I’ll keep coming back until I try everything I want on the menu… and that’s basically everything, so I’ll be visiting pretty regularly. It is extremely hard to imagine anybody not falling in love with Chadd’s. For the love of GOD people, for the sake of still having a place to sit in the little restaurant, do NOT suggest this place to Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! THANKYOU.
