Finding good perch at a reasonable price that isn’t dripping in batter, is not easy to find, we’ll look no further. This is delicious perch, lightly coated and sautéed to perfection. It’s the only thing I have had here as I love it I can’t bring myself to order anything else. They do have a very complete menu and for a neighborhood bar/restaurant this place wonderful.

Great bar food. I love the BBQ nachos and the Farmer burger. Service is on par. Can’t go wrong with a cold beer. I don’t usually order a mixed drink here.

Solid bar food(great nachos! But need better salsa…); great tv selection and friendly waitresses. I’m from the area and it’s nice that a non-chain can provide these basic tavern deliverables!

Great bartender, Chelsea! She gave great recommendations for their new breakfast menu. Great drinks, bottomless mimosas and awesome atmosphere. Definitely making this a weekly breakfast stop. We normally come here two or three times a week for dinner. Drunken fish and chips made the Cajun style is amazing. Surf and turf is always made perfectly. Service is outstanding and they always make you feel like you are family. This is truly a must stop place to get great food, drinks and even make new friends with the staff! They have a new location also at 15 and Moravian that I’m looking forward to checking out.

Went to the new Sterling Heights location twice. The fist time the order was completely wrong and the server was a little rood. Second server made up for it and was very good. Second time the food was terrible. Ordered the filet and it was way overcooked and dry. Baked potato was cold.

Went to the Sterling Heights location for the first time. Service was awful., Waited almost 35 minutes between the starter and our entrée. But that wasnt even the worst. The food was just bad. My salad was so salty that i could not take more than 2 bites. Also ordered the original sliders and they were bad!!! Burned on the outside and raw inside. By the way the meat and cheese tray was basically deli meant and cheese you can get anywhere. Will never ever go back here!!!

At the new location in Sterling Heights on Moravian. Just opened but OMFG service is nearly non-existent, they sure as hell do not know how to pour a Neat Bourbon in a snifter. Beer is good at least. Hope they get better quick or buh-bye

Ordered a burger medium rare and got a crispy well well done burger, all I could taste was grease and grill. I let the waitress know and she didn’t seem to care. Also, pretty sure the whiskey shrimp sauce is just cheap maple syrup, not a fan. Will not be back for food.

This is what a gourmet roadhouse is all about. This place happens to be a sports bar too !! A long bar that’s almost as long as the building that can just about serve you anything. Low ceiling, cozy roadhouse atmosphere and great service. The food is some of the best roadhouse/sports bar food you’ll eat in this area. Small Plates: Whiskey Shrimp, Blacken Surf & Turf, Calamari. Burgers: On Game Day are named after the teams that are playing. Not gourmet but very, very good ! Sliders: Filet Mignon, Prime Ribs. Main Dish: Twin Lobster Tails, NY Strip, Filet Mignon, Ribeye steaks. Bourbon StirFry. Great Salads, Great Soups but only Chili and Clam Chowder on the weekends(don’t ask I don’t get it ether) Are You getting the picture? Not your average roadhouse. You bet yah ! There are some short falls: Ribs are ok but not great. I’ll try them again. Only two soups on the weekend. Paper menus(Really) but I’d eat there if the menu was toilet paper. Oh, Oh ! I forgot the best part their daily menu is one of the best I’ve seen anywhere. Salmon, Steak & other seafood disks I’ve had there are better then the main menu. If that’s even possible ! It’s just a mile from Rochester Rd and much much better then the other bars on the strip. Hope you enjoy the food as much as I do. Increase the peace.

This is our favorite place to eat in the area! We always order the pretzel rods(DELICIOUS). They’re a daily special but luckily always available when we go in. 9 times out of 10 I order the filet sliders and they’re always on point. Although sometimes I encourage myself to try something new and am never disappointed. OH! And they have the best deep fried Oreos in the state of Michigan. No joke. Staff is always friendly and if they don’t have the answer to a question they find out and if there is a problem they fix it. Remember humans run the place and you have to leave a margin for error. Have never left disappointed!

My family and I absolutely love this place. I’ve been here about three times and never had a less than awesome experience. The staff is extremely friendly, quick, and attentive. Also, all three times I’ve been there, and owner has been there walking around and having conversations with the consumers. He’s a really nice, humble guy, and it’s refreshing to see an owner who cares so much about his customers and business. The theme is really cool– it’s dark but sets a great atmosphere. It’s very clean and nice looking. I always go for the sandwiches, but I’ve tasted my family’s dishes(fish tacos, mac & cheese, and burgers) and they are also amazing. You really can’t go wrong with this menu– I would say anything you over will be cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Johnny Black’s I drove by you a lot on my way to Chadd’s Bistro. I’m sorry. OVerall a nice place inside, with a dark theme(lots of black wood) and a super friendly staff. I had two spicy bloody Mary’s and they were top notch. On top of that, fried pickles were off the chart. Generous portion for the cost. I also enjoyed the fillet sliders with blue cheese and caramelized onions, very good. Clam showder is the one thing I had that was not good at all.

We have a new JBs opening soon by our residence, so we decided to give the place a try in advance by going to this location. Our waitress was good. Our food was slow in arriving considering the establishment was not too crowded. But I guess if you expect good food, it takes time. My wife and I ordered 3 appetizers and I also had a drunken fish sandwich. The appetizers were a great deal. We were there during happy hour and their special is $ 5. The appetizers were worth $ 5.00 easily. First appetizer was friend mushrooms. They were good, not the best I ever had, but dang decent for sure. The 2nd appetizer we had was Pulled Pork Sliders. They were good too, but not amazing. We also had Buffalo Shrimp which neither of us ate. They weren’t very good. The fish sandwich was quite decent. The bread was tasty, the fish tasted good and everything was RIGHT about it. It wasn’t your typical«FISH» sandwich. It was huge ! All in all, I think the food is pretty good. I guess for a place like this you couldn’t expect a whole lot more. The prices were definitely ok. We may go back when the new place opens.

Went last night and got the swordfish. Christina mentioned«trying something different» cause I usually get the wedge. Anyway the swordfish was perfect– slight sear on the outside but tender and juicy. Wife got the mushroom tortellini and loved it. Son got a monstrous burger he only ate half of.

In my opinion, our waitress was VERY slow. I work in the service industry so maybe I just hold a very high standard for this type of thing. When my friend & I arrived we waited almost 10 minutes to even get greeted and order a drink.(which the girl who asked for our drinks wasn’t even our waitress and didn’t even know what they had on tap) the whole experience just felt like a bunch of waiting around. I ordered the shrimp tacos and those were very good. Another girl who was not our waitress checked in to our table more than our actual waitress I thought. I HATE leaving a crappy tip, but sadly tonight I didn’t leave what I usually would. I would consider going back only because my friend has said she’s always had good service here. So maybe we just got stuck with an unfortunate waitress this time.

Met up here with a group of about seven friends. They had no problem with us pushing the tables together and waiting for everyone to arrive. The drinks were good, ok Scotch selection but the bartender didn’t know a lot about the different labels. He made up for this by offering samples. The appetizers were good and we had a great time dancing. The waitress was attentive but not suffocating and overall, the atmosphere was laidback and friendly.

Came here on a Tuesday with my cousin who lives down the street and regularly visits this restaurant/bar. I’ve heard nothing but good things from her about their sliders. I ordered the Filet Mignon Sliders(medium) and she ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sliders. Service was prompt and pleasant and food came out quick. When the food came out, my dish looked delicious. The Filet Sliders are served with caramelized onions, blue cheese and zip sauce. I took a bite, and couldn’t bite thru the meat. It was well done and I ordered medium. The meat was hard, chewy and seemed liked it was cooked hours ago. It was so tough that I couldn’t even pull it apart with my hands. My cousin’s Buffalo Sliders were also a disappointment. The chicken was no bigger than a half dollar coin. I could get frozen chicken nuggets for half the price and just as good from the store. The only redeeming quality was when we asked to speak to the manager, he acknowledged that both dishes were completely unacceptable. He offered fresh cooked dishes but we just left and went and ordered a pizza from the hole in the wall down the street and it was way better. Food was more than disappointing and unappetizing and I will never return for food, maybe just drinks.

We had a good night here last week. With out of town friends in, this was the first place we took the Europeans for some American Grub! Picky Sven, will only drink one beer.German.weise.whateva…that is until we suggested he try some Final Absolution. problem fixed, thank you very much… We tried all kinds of things on the menu… steak bites(loved!!) Jumbo shrimp appetizer with a bourbon sauce, was really good… kids got some wraps… they liked, some salads and burgers were also ordered. We all had a couple of FA’s.and we split a honeyed craft cocktail. I was a tad worried as we all sat down… our server kind of gave off the snotty vibe, but that was just a passing fancy… we were on our way to goodness very soon… The general manager… Zack I think… I think… was walking around too. he came over to chat with us, because he said he hadn’t seen us in before and wanted to know how are experience was… nice touch… see I like that kind of thing… Well, I can only tell you that I am looking forward to some more D&D’s(drinks and dines) from Johnny Blacks… the prices weren’t bad either… I’m in… I’m in :-)
