Up until tonight Argosy had the best weekend seafood buffet. Don’t know what was different beside crab legs salty and the meat on the shell was shredded(suspect over cooked); suspect the previous cook is gone(major loss). It’ not often we go to Argosy because it’s expensive. We was sorely disappoint after waiting in a long line and much anticipation to eat crab legs that were less than adequate. Get the cook back. If he took the day off, stipulate no weekends off or train his/her backup.

We’ve gone a few times for crab legs. The last couple of times we were seated near the entrance door section that’s typically managed by two younger ladies. Compared to other sections we’ve sat in before, we had to ask for extra napkins and the pretty much essential crab tools after sitting down for 10 minutes waiting on them to show up. They were slow, sluggish and rude. I had to ask for wet napkins three times before she remembered to bring them out. We had to remind her to empty the bucket too, and then she’d disappear for 20 minutes, unlike any other server around us. The few times we were sat near the buffet itself with some older gentleman waiters, we never had an issue. Everything was prompt and we never had to ask. The other issue that I had last time that probably sealed the deal to never return again, was a couple of things from the buffet employees. Aside from the poor service at the table, the crab legs are increasingly dirty. They aren’t taking much care in prep. The two older women who tend to refilling the crab, will dump them right on top of your hands, red hot. They also set the tongs out on the dirty counter top. As a food scientist, that scared me. Service utensils need to stay in their bowls or in a keeper. Don’t just toss them to someone across a dirty surface you haven’t wiped down in hours. The last night we went, they also set out stuffed lobster tails that had been left over from a banquet. There was one left by the time I made it up there, and the three women working the crab and pizza area were hovering over it and pulling it apart with their hands and eating it. Please explain to me where that’s acceptable for an employee, let alone a group of them, to do this? Needless to say, I’ll opt for other restaurants for crab from now on. We gave it several chances.

First experience trying the Buffet for breakfast. Went around 9:30am on a Saturday. The line on arrival was fairly long with only one person operating the cash register. You pay, then wait in another line to be seated. Overall process took 20+ minutes. The breakfast buffet on the weekends is from 7a-11:30 for $ 14.99. Includes everything from biscuits and gravy, fruit, omelet bar, eggs to cinnamon rolls and pancakes. Definitely won’t find yourself going home hungry! Food is pretty good for a buffet, but won’t knock your socks off.

Over all no complaints. Food is very good and the crab legs are cooked just right! If I had to pick one thing I did not like, it would be waiting. I’ve been a few times and stood in line for 30 – 40 minutes. But really there is nothing they can do about that, lots of people go there on Friday and Saturday night.

Not much better than Golden Coral. The sushi was worse than grocery store sushi. I think many of the items are frozen foods. I liked the breakfast much better than the dinner.

This is an ok buffet and we had the breakfast buffet a few weeks ago. All of the breakfast items were fine. I had some mashed potatoes and fried chicken too but there were also selections for Chinese, Mexican, Italian and American too. Plenty of seating and great service from the ladies who come around and get your drink orders and take away dirty plates and silverware.

Terrace Buffet is a pretty straight forward casino buffet. All you can eat joy for a relatively high price(but not bad if you can shove lots of food down your gullet). The buffet has all the things you’d want and expect from a buffet. Meats, sides, salad, desserts, and bread, oh my! It seems like the Harrah’s buffet is a bit more extensive but I think Argosy is a little cheaper so it all works out. Our most recent visit, on a Saturday afternoon(don’t judge us!), they were still serving a breakfast/brunch menu. The breakfast food wasn’t too bad. All you can eat bacon is NEVER bad. Our last visit, the service was a little slow. The person seating us was very slow to show up for the waiting people. The people in line in front of us got to the point of asking the register person if they could seat themselves cause it was taking so long. ultimately the seating person sauntered up slowly and slowly took them off to be seated, clearly taking her time despite having us still waiting… Maybe show a little hustle! It then took several more minutes once we sat before our server came by to get our drink orders. Food — okay to good Service — could step up it’s game a little(at least on our last visit) If you can put some food away, as far as all you can eat goes, it’s a good option.

I went cause I wanted the crab legs. And other than the 40 minutes waiting inline. I was pleased. Was basically ate everything they offered. I would definitely go again and eat even more crab legs. Truthfully you might want to bring your own utensils.

Absolutely amazing that anyone would eat here. My wife and I went on 11÷16÷13 which was also Crab Leg night. We thought that the food would be fairly decent as this was a huge attraction for people who love crab legs. As it turned out, the food was less than stellar. Things that should have been cold were warm and things that should have been hot were mushy. Granted, it’s a buffet. However, it was a fairly small buffet in comparison to other local casino buffets. Regardless of the food quality, the price seemed a little high for no more options than were available. As a result, we will not be returning.

Saturday nights are snow crab leg nights and they are worth it. It’s hard not to overeat when there’s overflowing pans of perfectly cooked crab legs and urns of melted butter. There’s so much yummy food I can’t imagine someone leaving unsatisfied. I’ve only ever gone on a Saturday so I’ve only seen the seafood buffet. The cold boiled shrimp is awesome as is the dessert bar. The only negative I can say are there are no cold plates for cold foods. Seems like it should be a health code violation there, but I’m no expert. The service was fine, not great, not very attentive. I’ve had worse. It’s worth it for all you can eat crab legs. YUM

Specifically a review of their breakfast buffet. It’s nothing special. If you like Krispy Kreme donuts, you’ll like the buffet. None of the pastries seem to be made in house. They have a made-to-order omelette station which seemed to have a lot of options. They also have a made-to-order waffle station. I was kinda bummed about the waffle. The batter wasn’t very flavorful, and the people(yes, there was more than one person, though never there at the same time) manning the station seemed like they wish people didn’t want waffles for breakfast. Eggs were average. Pancakes on the lower end of average. The sausage patties looked disgusting, but the bacon and sausage links looked normal. I’m a bit concerned with their food safety standards. I saw food trays being topped off(completely ignoring FIFO) and they had a bowl of whipped cream(made in house! yay!) that was stand-alone and very room temperature(there goes that yay.) It’s not awful, we’ve gone twice. Our servers have been great. But don’t go expecting the food to be as nice as the ambiance. Honestly, Cinzetti’s brunch buffet is way better, though a bit more expensive without drinks included.

Have always heard Argosy has best buffet. I had a coupon for BOGO, so went for breakfast. It was good. It had a lot of options. Not everything was great, but there was plenty to choose from and the price is good, probably just as good as golden corral or hometown buffet type places. your drink is included. Cheese Blintzes are my favorite thing now.

DW received a coupon for two free buffets along with a free hotel room. We hit the buffet on Saturday night which was crab leg night, so the buffet was very busy. The food was good, better than some of the other casino buffets. The servers were very nice and did a good job of keeping the drinks filled and the plates cleared. The layout of the buffet was also good and kept things flowing as well.

3÷7÷13 After being a weekly customer for Sunday brunch for almost 2 years, I had a horrible experience. We go in for breakfast around 10:15 — 10:30. The new policy as of a couple of weeks ago is that if you’re not finished eating by 11:30 you get forced out the door or pay an extra $ 7 per person«because brunch is now served.» The management of the Argosy/Terrace Buffet has not even replied to these comments/policies. There are complaints on their Facebook page, Unilocal, and even a video of how they are treating customers on YouTube. If you’re a business and want to go from a 5 star review to a 1 star, this is how to do it. 4÷10÷13 I was contacted by management and they have worked to resolve the issue and they let several employees go due to their actions. I’ve only been back once since but plan to resume soon so I’ve updated to a 3 star. If all is well after several more visits I’ll update be to 5 star

Love this place… especially when you receive the free coupons from them.(My boyfriend was put on their mailing list and we receive coupons for free buffets here). It’s a bit on the pricey side, but they have really good food. They have about 6 kinds of sushi that is available(it’s good but I usually only get about 4 pieces and it’s enough for me. and if you know me I LOVESUSHI) My boyfriend and I really enjoy their buffalo wings, they have a nice little bite, but they aren’t saucy and messy. The following link is to their website, to let you know what their times are as well as what buffet is going on.
We’ve been on the Prime Rib & Shrimp night and we left soooo full I didn’t eat till the following evening. The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars from me, is becuase the last couple of times we’ve been there the servers we a little on the lack side. I don’t know if they were short staffed or what. This last time we even had to ask another waitress for refills.

I like to come here on the seafood night w/crablegs and oysters… I don’t like the oysters here. I like the crab legs and the food is pretty good. but while I’m reading the reviews here I might have to take Jon’s advice and go on a Sunday morning!

As I’ve gotten older, buffets don’t hold the same luster they once did. Even though we should all be a little more disciplined as adults, buffets tend to invite gluttony and a loss of wheel power once you reach the buffet line. Remarkably, I steer clear of buffets as much as possible unless I get a hankering for some crab legs around 2 – 3 times a year. I’ve been to lots of buffets over the years. Different cities and different types of buffets. I kid you not, Terrace Buffet is one of the best buffets I’ve ever frequented in my life. Clean, fresh, and a wide variety to choose from. Not a huge buffet that merely sits out tons of unseasoned food like so many others. Terrace has the feel and taste of down south cuisine. Yes, the buffet is overloaded with carbs and starches. Some of the food is bland. But plenty of their food is quite tasty for buffet standards. The dessert bar is awesome most of the time! Their pumpkin pie is very very good when they offer it. The staff is on top of their game every single visit. Like I said, you must visit on Crab Leg night. You’ll never go anywhere else. Be prepared to wait for sometimes over an hour or more. The lines can get ridiculous. But, its well worth the wait. The Argossy Casino and terrace Buffet are hands down the best buffet in Kansas City along with Golden Corral.

We went to the Buffet this morning. The price was great for $ 9.99. Kids eat for $ 5.99(12 years or less). The food was very good. I would recommend this to any one out there.

Terrace Buffet! 3:30pm to 10pm — Wed & Thurs(Crab Legs) — $ 25.99 The food is pretty good but not a huge variety. I go for the crab legs — YUM! They have an ice cream dispenser and small dessert selection and even smaller fresh fruit selection. It’s ok but it’s kinda small. I went for their Easter special and it wasn’t bad. They had a giant ice sculpture of rabbit. That was pretty cool… kinda fancy. Full schedule:
