Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill

Honestly the best service I’ve ever been given at a chain restaurant. And the tacos were huge !

I like this location, the people are very friendly when I come in and the food taste great. I always call ahead so I can just walk in pay and leave.
The California bowl is my mine and my husband favorite item but the fish tacos are a close 2^nd.

Good fast Americanized Mexican food. This place is great for when I was some shrimp tacos with a Mexican hint. The jalapeño and lime salsa is so good!

First time and last time being there, we purchased the tortilla soup and fish taco, and my husband got surf and turf taco plate. The soup was REALLY plain! It was nothing but white rice, avocado, a couple chinks of chicken a little cilantro and onion, tomato chunks, and tortilla chips with cheese. I had to put extra cilantro and onion in it just to give it more taste and I put salsa in it because that didn’t help. The taco was nothing but a chunk of grease and plain as well, needless to say you have to rely on the salsa BIG TIME to give it more flavor. My husband said the tortillas where bleachie, and more coleslaw then anything. He had to cover his tacos in salsa because it was plain. The chips and beans and salsa where they best part.

First time at this one… I’ve been to Norco in the past… I love the grilled shrimp burrito and they have a great salsa bar… the place is nice and clean and the employees were on the spot and courteous. .love it

As with all Rubio’s franchises, their food isn’t that impressive; I much would rather go to a taqueria before ordering Mexican food there. Since it is a Mexican seafood restaurant, I would suggest going for something along the lines of a fish taco.

Came to Rubio’s not knowing what to get, but I ended up getting their steak nachos. The food was served pretty fast and the portions were pretty big. Nachos came with pico de gallo and guacamole and it was all for a little over $ 9. The staff was very attentive with really great costumer service. They really do care if you receive good service. The place was really clean overall. Definitely a good place to come to, I’ll be returning soon.

The food is always fresh. They openly cater to vegetarian options. They move quickly and can get you in and out on your lunch hour. Their plates are filling. You will leave satisfied; not stuffed, satisfied.

I really enjoyed their fish tacos, but unfortunately I left hungry after spending $ 8 on a 2 fish taco plate. The only way I see myself coming back is on a Tuesday.

I ordered the California chicken bowl. It has chicken, rice, beans, Pico de gillo guacamole and lettuce. I felt great after wating. It was filling without making me feel heavy.

Went AGAIN to see if they would redeem themselves… No luck!!! Waited more than 20 minutes for our food… And the order was STILL wrong.

This place is great! Their service is amazing. The cashiers are always so nice and polite and always tell you to help yourself to the salsa bar. Everything here is made fresh which makes it even better. Whenever I am in need of a burrito, this is my Togo place!!!

I sometimes come here if I have class over at the UV, and nothing else looks appealing. It’s just okay — food is alright, staff is nice, and it’s fairly clean.
My favorite item is the Gourmet Shrimp 2 Tacos plate — the tacos come with this creamy sauce, bacon bits, avocado, and some pretty succulent shrimp.
However, for the price I’m paying the food is too mediocre. The lettuce in the burritos are not the freshest. The beans are bland. The chips often times are stale and hard. I’ve tried other items on the menu (like the street tacos or their burritos) but they’re not memorably good nor are they bad so they’re just whatever.
As for the location, it gets pretty busy during lunch time. The line to order gets a little unorganized and the pick up area invades the dining area. There’s a lot of foreign exchange students that hang around the outdoor seating area and they smoke a lot (which I don’t enjoy, especially when I’m trying to eat). I’m not sure if management can do anything about that, but it’s not their fault so I don’t blame them for that.
Speaking of staff, all the workers I’ve encountered are really friendly and attentive.
So in the end, I’m indifferent about this place but it’s not bad so don’t be afraid to give it a try if you’re in UV.

I love their fish tacos! Service is good. This place is clean and good smelling. Food is consistent and fresh.

The male manager is so nice! I’m happy every time I come in and see him at the register. I haven’t seen the other manager in a while. There are also other girls that work here that are super sweet also.
Anyways, fish tacos are $ 1.50 on Tuesdays and they’re delicious! Definitely try it if you haven’t.

Parking is a bit tricky if you’ve never been over here so once you find a spot and you’re just going to grab a bite, be sure to get your parking validated.
Food wise, its the same as any other Rubio’s I’ve been to. Nothing super special, it was all very good and made me happy. The one thing I did like over any other Rubio’s I’ve been to though was the little sitting cubby area over by the restrooms. They have a little cove cut out with 3 tables of 2. Very cute, secluded little space. If I lived in the area and went to UCR, I’d totally «claim» that spot for a quick bite and a spot to crack out my laptop and get something done. I didn’t see an immediate open plug in that wouldn’t cause an issue of tripping but it could have been covered by a chair leg, something to look out for for anyone reading this looking for a different little spot to hang besides the typical Starbucks.
Not to mention, the unsweetened Mango tea is better in my opinion anyways! I’d pick that any day over Starbucks.

Employees there are great. manager went out of her way and placed a table next to power outlet. lol my cell was dying. A+…food could be good but employees are the icing on the cake!

Paid $ 8 for some chicken-​less nachos… meaning they lacked chicken… BIG TIME!!! I must have gotten the «end of the bag» chips, cause I had so many crumbs and broken chips, it was ridiculous. Won’t be ordering the nachos again.

I only come here for the fish taco Tuesdays. This place is located at the UV next to UCR. Their customer service is pretty good, I have yet to run into any problems.
The fish tacos are not the best but they’re good. The price is reasonable only on Tuesdays because of the deal. Not much else to say about this place as I haven’t tried much more than that.

I really love Rubio’s. Like, really. During lobster season I placate this place like white on rice. Taco Tuesdays are the bomb too considering its a delicious fish taco! Get the spicy sauce mixed with some fire sauce to up the flavor a bit! I wouldn’t recommend getting anything but seafood here because this place markets it up like a seafood-​baja type restaurant, so they should (and do) naturally specialize in seafood things.
short: get a ton of fish taco’s or their seasonal special taco’s, a beer, spicy salsa with the hot sauce mixed in, and chill out.
–1 star ONLY because despite being sort of fast-​foody, it can get downright pricey, especially for their seasonal stuff.
