Cask ‘n Cleaver Steakhouse

Had dinner here tonight! Wife and I (Kid had his own thing going). NY steak was soooo great! Mrs. had Salmon. Both had salad bar.
DAMNNNN GOOOOODDD!

This is a place that has been there forever but we started going in about a year ago and we were happy we did. The food is Delicious. Potato skins are the best we have had. There is a bar and the atmosphere is really nice. This is kindof a hidden gem that has awesome steaks.
We really like eating there and more people need to know about this place!

Husband had prime rib. Delicious I had steak and shrimp good as well.

This is the best steak in riverside. Very laid back, unpretentious atmosphere makes this a place about the food, not appearances. Better than duane’s or any other steak in town. Get the filet mignon with the baked potato, you won’t be disappointed. This place is for love of the food and the wait staff are friendly, accommodating, and fast.
Come here for the steak. Enjoy.

I love this steak house!!! As a first timer to the establishment I must say that the people working here are really on top of things! My drinks were constantly being filled and the food was DELICIOUS! The waitress was really attentive and seems as though the manager and owner were making sure everything went well. I would definitely come to this place again. The staff is so friendly, the drinks are strong and the steaks are to die for!

Food was decent. Steak cooked to order. Restaurant had 2 other tables seated at prime time. Very dead. Atmosphere is generic. Staff was good but not great.

I finally decided it’s time to give my review after eating here last night. I have been coming to Cask since 1990 or so. I loved the original restaurant and have been missing it ever since they remodeled. The new look is nice but this place has lost It’s pizazz and it’s rare to see the parking lot full. The people are great but the food has changed. Although the steaks and chicken and fish taste great… If any one else recalls… The size portions were much bigger in the past. You got your money’s worth. I love the salad bar. I will always have that with my Meal, but my family and friends added the salad bar to their meal because of the small portion of their steak and fish. My chicken was literally ¼ of the normal size of a chicken breast. I even pointed this out to the waiter finally, last night. He said «I don’t know why the chef would give you chicken that small». He didn’t offer to do anything about it. I’m sure I am not the only patron to have commented about the small portions. The food is delishhh no doubt… But… I am truly disappointed in the portions. The place is boring now. Like eating in a library. Disappointing for sure!!! Love the staff… great service, just not worth the price since they have cut their portions in everything, to literally, kids portions.

Came back again. Enjoyed everything. Food and service were great. Celebrated 2 birthdays and a «going away» occasion.

this is a solid three star place. A bit overpriced for the ambience and the food and the staff is lacking as they make you feel like you are there too long. I prefer to enjoy my meal and not feel rushed. I would not return

My husband and I enjoy Cask ‘n Cleaver for the fish and chips. Definitely some of the best in Riverside. Noël, one of the waitresses, is attentive and friendly. I would recommend C ‘n C to everyone!

Service was great! Manager was helping out with some of our table concerns. We had a moldy bread basket and some of our half sandwiches w salad bars were given a discount because of it. This is our office bday lunch place and we will continue to come back. Hope the bread is fresher next time…

On a Monday night you’d think the place was closed. Only a couple of cars, but my mom and I had not been here in 40-​years. I had hoped for a good steak and the salad bar is a must.
After being seated (Kathey) KAT was quick to ask for drinks and start an appetizer. She came back with the STAR sellers NA. Artichoke dip, Tuna and Calamari were not available on a Monday. Who does that? Very disappointing, but there was still potential.
We ordered and with 4-​entrees and a soup and salad you’d think it wouldn’t be a big deal. I have expectations from any steak house and after 24-​minutes, I asked a man continually monitoring the kitchen and the floor. He immediately went to the kitchen and brought our food. Who does that? Martin does. Now please note I may have jumped the gun because they may of let our aged steak rest before serving. I did not see that mentioned or listed on the menus. Never the less, I may of made a mistake. For that reason I apologize for my actions. I did leave a 20% tip, so not all is lost.
Yes, he was Martin Herrera, Manager. You want to remember this name because after 15-​yrs in the restaurant business and dining in many high end places he is THE BEST. Although the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) trains many of us to insure a well run ship. Martin is the one manager I had witnessed to continuously walk the floor, eye the kitchen, then walk the floor. Remember I said «continuously». You will never see a manager do this during the entire dining hour… anywhere. Most managers sit in their office and do, whatever. Here is a true professional and the main reason why my 24-​minute problem was resolved.
Back to my order… the steak was a perfect medium, tender and as good as an aged steak can taste. The blacken Salmon was very moist, yet had a crisp skin. The Beef dip was stuffed with prime rib, and the teriyaki chicken was the same. Besides the 24-​min wait, I’d normally leave a 50% tip, just because you never see this kind of involvement from a manager, let alone the food was PERFECT.

Food was good, beer (new castle) was great and the service by Christina who was behind the bar was stellar. She was very welcoming as I sat at the bar and answered every question I posed to her with a smile and an answer. Her approach to customer service is an attentive and friendly one. More people in the service industry should have her ethic. If I were a resident of Riverside and not on a business trip I ld be a regular on the nights she works. Cask and Cleaver gets 4 star and mostly because of the service!!!

Kat was great… we appreciated her friendly attitude all night. Give that lady a raise… we will be back soon

My wife and I went for dinner, our second time here. I ordered the smothered blue cheese steak. My wife ordered the rib eye. The plates came to our table fairly quick, however it was someone else’s food. Round 2 my wife likes her steaks medium to medium well, they brought her a top sirloin not the rib eye that was well done. I got my plate with her rib eye. It was excellent. My wife got her rib eye. The rest of our visit was very enjoyable. I do want to add the service was top notch. Our drinks and appetizer came quickly and were very good. Our server Christina was very attentive and made our dinner very pleasant.

We had an hour for lunch and found nothing open near us. Stopped at cask n cleaver but lunch was over so I asked the cook Hugo where we could eat and he said he would check w manager and see if he could go ahead and cook a steak for us. Dave, the manager came out and showed us to a table then turned on the TV to the World Series for us. WHO DOES THIS. These guys are great, for cask n cleaver, but also just plain nice to a couple strangers.
Well our food arrived and both dishes were perfect. My ego took a small hit because the mesquite sirloin was very slightly better than mine.

I came here with my family for my birthday dinner on Saturday night.
The restaurant was pretty clean and had a nice selection of drinks and meals on the menu. For my beverage, I had the raspberry lemon drop with svedka citron vodka, chambord raspberry liqueur, fresh lemon and a sugared rim. This cocktail was good/​alright. It didn’t taste super fresh and I don’t think they used fresh lemon juice. It tasted a little light on the alcohol, but it did the trick.
For starters, we got the garlic cheese bread, the spinach and artichoke dip, and the ahi tuna poke. The garlic cheese bread was okay (good crispness and flavor, maybe could have been a little cheesier). The spinach and artichoke dip was good (it could have been hotter). The ahi tuna poke had a nice, generous portion of ahi tuna which I appreciated. The avocado was good. The sauce with it was good, but sort of just tasted like teriyaki sauce. There could’ve been some more wonton chips.
I got the optional salad bar with my entrée. I thought they actually had a decent salad bar with a good variety of options. I liked it.
For my entrée, I got the New York Strip steak with the baked potato. My steak was not the best I’ve had, but good. I thought they did a pretty good baked potato. Everything was served hot.
Our server was excellent. He was on top of it the whole time and very pleasant. I always appreciate a good server. It really makes the experience.
Overal, I thought it was good. I probably will be back sometime.

Great food, good service, Unilocal discount, what’s not to like? The location isn’t the greatest place however the facility has been remodeled and modern looking. The location is a good banquet sized location so you can bring a whole heck of a lot of people or plan a party and they’ll be able to accommodate you.
By the way… their steaks are remarkable.

Good food, good service and 10% discount if you check in on Unilocal!I went on a Saturday night for dinner. I had the blackened cajun salmon with baked potato. Salmon was delicious, spicy and very black peppery. It was about a 6 oz fillet.
Others in my party had steak with various toppings. They all looked good and everything was cooked perfectly. I subtract a star because the dessert menu was practically non existent (I believe it was cheese cake and carrot cake. And that’s it.). We ended up going somewhere else nearby for some pie.
