Definitely the best meal my husband and I have had in a LONG while! We went here on Valentine’s Day with a 7pm reservation and we were seated right away along with a long stemmed red rose for me… classy. Since we had $ 200 in giftcards and money to spare, we wasted no time getting our rocks off and immediately ordered a bottle of Rose champagne(Chandon, one of our favorites from when we visited their tasting room in Napa). Unfortunately they didn’t have the Chandon in stock, so our waitress brought us a Mumm’s instead that she said was comparable. It was a bummer, but we went with it and it was close and tasted good. We started off with a «taste from the chef» which were 2 halves of a hollowed out strawberry filled with champagne jelly«on the house» for Valentine’s Day. They were delicious and quite appropriate for the holiday. We moved on to our appetizer, garlic shrimp served over a wisp of garlic mashed potatoes. They were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Bummer? There were 3 shrimp and 2 of us… why do places always serve odd-numbered items on dishes that you KNOW people are going to share? LOL it’s so annoying! We cut #3 in half, but would have obviously preferred a 4th! For our main courses, I selected the Steak Diane which was filet mignon served in cutlets with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus with a mushroom sauce. I also ordered a side of their mac n cheese. My husband ordered the porter house(18 oz) and their lobster risotto on the side. We were both MORETHANPLEASED with our meals and finished nearly over bite, lick, and chew of them. The steaks were wonderful, the sides, delicious. The mac n cheese was so creamy it was like nothing else! My husband was bananas for the risotto with the huge chunks of lobster claws throughout the entire, creamy dish. At this point we were certainly in a food coma, BUT I had always wanted to try soufflé and since this was a special occasion and they claim their chocolate soufflé with grand mariner sauce is a specialty, we went for it. We actually ordered it when we ordered our meals(I know the soufflé wait time rule) but it didn’t come for quite a while after we had finished our meals. It also seemed like our waitress didn’t put the order in. However, the soufflé was marvelous and I’d definitely order it again! The food was amazing, so no minus of any stars, but if I had to point anything out it would be the service. The water boy spilled our water all over our table at the beginning of the meal and then just lifted everything up and put a napkin over it. My silverware was soaked and dripping, but he didn’t think to replace it(probably too embarrassed by the spill). Our waitress was very nice, but again, I think she forgot to put the soufflé order in until after we were done eating since it took nearly 30 minutes to get it even though I had specifically ordered it well ahead of time. However, the food was so delicious that I can’t take away any stars and I’d definitely go to Duane’s again for a fancy steak dinner meal out!

If you are looking for a nice place for a special occasion or just feel like splurging for dinner, this place is magnificent. The food is delicious and the service is flawless. Couple that with the beautiful surroundings of The Mission Inn and you have a place like no other. I hope you will treat yourself and visit Duane’s in the very near future.

This evening my company hosted a seminar at Duanes and I can’t say enough about my excellent experience there… From the super tall young man who parked our car to the superb wait staff who served us not to mention the delicious food that was served… My choice was the bisque lobster soup, lamb shank, and cheese cake to make the meal complete… Kudos to the staff and management for hiring such professionals Martha Carter of Fontana Ca…

Food…5. Service…6 Rebecca was my bartender she was very helpful selecting wines and suggesting dessert. The conversation for a weary business traveler like myself was just what I needed after a long day. The vibe is soft and intimate. The overall experience was exceptional. This dinner made my stay here at the Mission Inn even that much more enjoyable. Thanks!

We had dessert there for my boyfriends birthday. The waitress said they had ran out of the dessert we wanted. Smh. It usually takes 15 min to have made is what they usually tell us. We asked again for it and they said it would be 15 but got it sooner because they said they made and extra one. We didn’t get offered coffee until I asked. Not a good experience. Would have to think twice before returning

The service and food is 5 star! Dressy ambiance, great food and great service. Not sure if you need to make a reservation, we did. I ordered the Jumbo shrimp scampi, delicious! Husband ordered the rib eye steak with a side of mashed potatoes, perfect steak! Kids are not allowed. Third time I’ve eaten here, I’m a repeat customer.

Very beautiful setting but the food didn’t quite match the price tag. We waited 2 hours for our steaks and they were just OK.

My experience was on a Monday. I’d hate to experience this place on a Friday or weekend. That said, let me share how uneventful this place was. I’m not big on giving negative reviews and always give the benefit of the doubt. I’m pretty open minded. So let’s start with the bar tending(or lack thereof). I literally stood at the bar for 20 minutes awaiting one of the bar tenders to at least acknowledge my presence. There was no one around me so I know I was noticed. One of the bartenders walked by me and I thought, ok here we go I’m gonna get asked what I want to drink! Shit, I didn’t even get a hello and the trik walked right passed me and avoided eye contact! I wasn’t dressed poorly(I wore a suit) and I couldn’t claim racism(I’m Italian) and now at this point I didn’t want to even give them my money because of their shitty practices. So that was the bar. «F!» Next, just know a reservation at 7pm will get u seated at 8:30pm. No apologies or anything by the way. That type of mentality portrays, «we only give a shit about our time, not yours.» «F!» Dinner, meaning only the food, was good but took an additional 2 hours to prepare. I can’t tell if it was good because I was hungry, thinking I’d be eating at 8pm or if because it actually was good. I am not exaggerating. We got our food at 10:30pm and ended up leaving abruptly with having to take dessert to go. Now I have a gut bomb cause I ate too late and my shitting schedule is gonna be off in the morning. «B» for the food, and another«F» for the wait. I don’t really blame this on the dinner servers, they were kind and professional. I think there’s a bigger issue here. Oh and the restroom… lemme just say the floor was like walking through an oasis of piss just to get to a urinal covered in plastic. Ok, I’ll try the stall. Wow, what do you know, more piss and an unflushed toilet. «F!» So, in conclusion, I don’t think I would be going here again unless I had to for some type of function. To the management, not to be a jerk, but don’t bother offering me anything to come back or an apology. I’m not looking for anything like that. Just get your shit together so I could show you love in the future.

Seriously, the most amazing, delicious food in the world. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and I’m coming home for the holidays. It’ll be around our anniversary as well so he asked me where I’d like to celebrate. No questions asked, it’d be Duane’s. Who doesn’t want to be at the Mission Inn near Christmas? Then on top of this, the ambiance of the entire restaurant makes you feel like you’re in a completely different world. It’ll be his first time here, but I’ve been plenty times with my parents and family. Last time I was here, I got the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Filet and Lobster, and ended with their Signature Soufflé. Everything is always melt-in-your-mouth extraordinary. I am SO excited to take him here. Service is always phenomenal. Honestly, you’d have to go there at least once in your life. I now live on the East Coast and if anyone is ever visiting California, I can’t tell them enough to stay one night at the Mission Inn and eat at Duane’s Steakhouse.

Went to Duane’s last night for a Christmas party with 20 people. Banquet staff was incompetent and rude to our guests. We couldn’t get drink refills, they wouldn’t accommodate our special needs child, they wouldn’t talk with our guests, our food was undercooked. Terrible service, terrible food. We spent over $ 2000 on our banquet and this was the worst holiday experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We will never come back.

Decided to come here to celebrate our 8 year anniversary after seeing all these great pictures of other couples. Didn’t go as planned. The food was amazing the lobster bisque soup 5 – 5 for me and the Diane’s classic. It was good but my god TOO much potato. My hubby got the New York steak and a baked potato he said it was great only after he asked for steak sauce. We ended dinner late so we opted for no desert. And we didn’t know about the free valet parking which was a plus. One thing tho I kept seeing other guests things for special occasions. The waiters going of their way for them… Needles to say we had a regular night. All the waiters asked if we were celebrating something special we said yes our anniversary plenty of times. No one made it special. Maybe next year we’ll try a place that takes us into consideration. Great good tho.

We had a party of 4, we came for my fathers birthday and wanted to treat him to a great place. As always the Mission Inn is beautiful and the ambiance was perfect. We had a reservation so we sat at our table right away. Our server was nice and welcoming she also was very informative. We ordered our entrees, we also ordered some sides. All four of us ordered steaks everyone loved theirs mine was good but a little rare I didn’t comment or complain because I could still eat it. The creamed spinach was a highlight also the lobster bisque! I am still dreaming of the bisque lol. This is a great place and highly recommend!

Riverside is not a great place to look for extreme quality food. I was finally able to find this beautiful spot. The whole ambience of the place is extremely grand. Waiting inside the mission inn was absolutely no problem because it was so beautiful inside. Downtown Riverside is really a great destination to see the«better» side of Riverside in my opinion. On to the restaurant, everything seemed to be an antique and it is very dark. As we were sat down with great service, we were able to talk to the waiter for awhile since he wanted to get to know us. I always enjoy the effort in that. French Onion Soup — 5 stars. Wow, the french onion soup was absolutely phenomenal. The soup was just perfect and there was nothing to complain about it. The baguette was delicious and they had just the right taste along with the onion and butter and cheese mixed all together. It was really a different taste. Lobster Bisque — 3 stars. Unfortunately, I am an avid lover of Lobster Bisque. It is the soup that I like to have everywhere I go. It was very bitter. I like it much creamier and a little bit sweet. It was much more bitter than I thought it would be and I was unable to even finish it. Mac & Cheese — 4 stars. The mac and cheese was magical as well. I couldn’t get over how good it was and for some reason, it was crunchy. We had to ask, what is on the top that makes it so delicious and crunchy? POTATOCHIPS. They put POTATOCHIPS on the top of mac and cheese causing it to taste so good! The reason for 4 stars is that it did tend to be on the saltier side of it. Steaks(Bone-In Rib Eye /Filet Mignon) I’m always a filet guy and since it was my first time coming, I decided to go along with my usual, the filet. WOW. The meat is like butter, the meat melts through by the knife and dissolves in your mouth. It is absolutely delicious. IF I could give this a whopping 6 stars, I really would. My friend loves the Rib Eyes everywhere we go and had to give it a go. The rub was really daring and tasty. It would leave a taste in your mouth that you really can never forget. BUT, also tends to be on the saltier side. I would give the Rib Eye 4 stars. Overall, I had a great time and I’m definitely going to come back for more. Every steakhouse deserves multiple tries since perfecting a steak is nearly impossible. I hope that Duane’s becomes more and more popular and am hoping that they could maybe serve up a scallop entrée. I would definitely be going for that.

Judging by the other reviews here, Duane’s is clearly a hit or miss establishment. First off, my wife and I are HUGE fans of the Mission Inn. We love their Champagne Brunch, love the Mexican restaurant(Las Campanas), have stayed at the Inn a few times and were married there in December of 2013(VERY expensive and worth every penny). We’ve never eaten at Duane’s and took my wife’s son and his girlfriend there for a work-related congratulatory dinner on 9÷17÷15. It took WAY too long for the Server to greet us and as someone who spent years waiting on tables at all kinds of restaurants from basic to very fine dining I know that to be totally unacceptable. At this point, I’ll just give you the bullet points: — The server was very nice, but service was mediocre(I’m being nice) — Everything seemed to take too long(frustrating when there were only a handful of tables even there) — The food was okay — nothing special — Our total bill was $ 461.64 for«nothing special» In fairness, maybe they had an off night. In reality, we don’t pay $ 461.64 for an «off night». We’ll absolutely be back to the Mission Inn. Duane’s? Not so much…

Romantic? Check. Great food? Check. Great service? Check. Love this restaurant! Hubs and I came here for our 4-year anniversary and we decided to valet and found out it was free if we ate at the restaurant(just had to get it stamped… sweet!). Mission Inn is absolutely gorgeous. Restaurant is very romantic and great for a date night. It is on the expensive side, of course, and it was worth every dollar. Our server Maria was awesome. Along with the other staff. Always attentive and never bugged us too much. perfect! Hubs had made the reservation and did let them know it was our anniversary so we got a nice intimate table. We found out the people sitting next to us were there for their 4-year anniversary too! Go 9−10−11! Hubs and I ordered the Ceasar wedge salad to start off and it was delish! Our entrée was the«Classic» Steak Diane which was a Filet Mignon with mushroom sauce over it served with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. YUM! Meat was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Asparagus was a little overcooked but still pretty good. Mushroom sauce complemented the Filet perfectly. For dessert, we ordered the Kelly’s Apple Crumble Pie… OMG. So ridiculously good. Our server took a pic of us(so sweet!) and gave us a cupcake for our celebration! So so happy with everything here and can’t wait to come back! But, since it is on the expensive side, only for special occassions!

I always get great service here. It is pricey, but worth it. The best steak house in riverside. Great ambiance. Very romantic. I had the filet, with shrimp, wedge ceasar, to share, and vanilla crème brûlée. The only disappointment was the crème brulet was not even warm on top. I think they pre flamed them, and put them in the refrigerator. My date stayed the night there, and loved the experience. I went home after we had a drink at the presidential bar. I highly recommend. You must try the lobster tempura, they said the fryer was down last night. It’s to die for. Happy dinning.
