Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Smoothie was good but I couldn’t bare to drink it all due to the amount of sugar they add in. My husband and I were so confused on why they do this? It would have been delicious as just strawberries, peanut butter and bananas. Next time I’ll opt for the Splenda option if any…

As a neighbor to this place and visit often you would think that these people would be a little more polite. Well the girl who rang me out today looked a hot mess, the other 2 girls that worked there were gossiping the whole time… They made my food and called my name like I was an inconvience, I tried to say thank you as she didn’t acknowledge me or say anything. She turned to continue her conversation … My suggestion considering I work with people every day. Find some employees that care about the customers verses drama with co workers.

Good food, fun smoothies and shakes. Staff friendly, not super helpful, but, WYSIWYG. Order and enjoy.

With only 3 people in line in front me, I still waited over 20 minutes for my smoothie.

Great service with friendly staff, but wow, was the meat-​free chicken over cooked. They must not get many requests for the faux chicken strips. I had to repeatedly open my flatbread and pull out the strips to rip them apart with my hands, they were so tough. Glad no one was watching me attempt to eat my flatbread.

Love when I can count on a franchise to carry out consistency and uniformity no surprises! Prompt friendly service, my flatbread was perfectly crunchy (as I ordered) and my smoothie was fresh cold and proper, great experience, in and out, and clean! No complaints at all too busy sippin on my smoothie to be mad

I am a regular at the Short pump location of Tropical smoothie and have been since May 2013. This place is amazing. The franchising owners are very nice as well for the staff they have hired. The manager, Tim is my favorite staff member to speak with for any of my questions. They do an excellent job on quality and quantity. I couldn’t have found a more stable place. The dinning area is very clean on the multiple occasions I’ve visited, as well for the bathrooms. I’ve had an excellent customer satisfaction experience with learning the menu when the store isn’t busy. I’ve tried over more than half of the menu and never received a bad experience. I’ve only had one occasion where I asked them to remake my smoothie and it was no problem, it was just too sweet for me was all. If you haven’t experienced a Tropical Smoothie before I recommend the Short Pump location right across Dillard’s and near Petsmart. They can even do a couple of the «retired» stuff which is absolutely amazing.

So I pull up to tropical smoothie for dinner with my son last night (his request) and when I walk in two employees are sitting on the sidewalk propped up against the building smoking. No biggie. I go in, order our meal and the one employee remaining in the building begins to make our dinner. The other two whisk in and take over and finish preparing our sandwiches and smoothies. Did you catch that? No, I did not leave out the washing of the hands part… because it did NOT happen. When I ask to speak with the manager, he was the one that had been sitting outside smoking. Nice! Won’t be going back here for a while…

This location was sooo empty, so I was able to walk right in, order and was out in 5 mins. Perfect! I had my new fave acai berry blast smoothie…
If you havent tried it… You need to!

I have passed Tropical Smoothie many times, and I was always under the impression it just sold Smoothie Drinks and nothing else. However, I ran into a young Lady who works there and she told me how they make great sandwiches and other items… so I thought I would check it out.
I was looking for something light since it was a Hot Day here Richmond and when I entered… I found the place very busy and also very clean. In addition, I saw a sign which said $ 5.99 for a Flatbread Sandwich, Chips and Drink. Not a bad price for lunch. So I looked at their menu to see what they had in the way of choices and I decided on the Chipotle Chicken Club on Flatbread. I than asked for the Jalapeño chips. I did not get a Smoothie for $ 2. more as I get these awful Ice Cream headaches and I knew I would have a problem with the drink, however they look delicious being served to the other customers.
I am giving it 4 Stars, for a couple of reasons. The sandwich I ordered said it came it with Bacon. In fact, the sandwich had such a small piece of Bacon on it… it would have taken a magnifying glass to see it. This was one of the reasons why I ordered this sandwich. The sandwich did not have any Bacon flavor to it at all… In addition, the Chipotle Mayonnaise they put on the sandwich was mostly Mayonnaise… it had NO bite to it when it came to the Chipotle Flavor. Very disappointing… In fact, my Jalapeño Chips had more bite to it than the Chipotle Mayonnaise. I posted a photo of the Chipotle Chicken Club… You will see, how there is NO Bacon… :-(
So, I do not think I will order this sandwich again… Also, what was disappointing the Gentleman who took my order did not tell me about the extended menu which they carry, so I was under the impression what you saw on the board was what you could ONLY order… Since he was the order taker, he should have asked if I had seen the extended menu which they keep in a folder. Again, after discovering this on the way out, I was extremely disappointed as I saw several other items I liked.
I will go back, as the sandwich was good but not great, but at a good price. So, if you get a chance and you are looking for something good and fresh… Tropical Smoothie is the place to go. I look forward in returning… :-)
