EDIT**6/15/16 I originally had given these guys 5 stars(see my review below). After dining there last night with my family I’m hard pressed to give them beyond a 3. Overall, it came down to service. Which was slow! We were a party of 6 and there was another larger table of 8. Other than that there were maybe three 2 tops. They had 3 staff members working the whole area which I felt was ample staffing but still food came out a bit disorganized and slowly. Bread was ordered(its not just placed with tables you have to purchase) but didnt come out until we had our full meals. We didn’t order appetizers so we were just sitting for about 20 minutes for anything to arrive. Bummed it wasn’t a better experience. I ordered the Pork Ragu and it was tasty but I dine out for the full experience and service is at the top of my wish list. My first experience with Pizza Tonight was when they catered an event at my office. They came with their truck and set up shop in our«backyard» and it was a total hit! The Pig & Fig pizza… So much yes When they opened their storefront location a coworker and I went for lunch. Again, it was great stuff. Plus they have some really awesome Italian wines.

We stopped in for brunch here today and had an amazing meal! Started off with the Negroni Bianca, a refreshing variation on the original. Lamb & tomato with egg in an iron skillet was a delicious savory dish while the Ricotta Pancake had just the right amount of sweetness without being overbearing.

I think this is my favorite restaurant in Richmond. We have come here twice. The second for date night– bottle of wine, salad, 2 entrees, and a dessert. It is soooo authentic tasting. Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend you check it out!

Best pizza in Richmond? Yup, by a long-shot. Obviously, great pizza starts with a solid crust foundation, and theirs is thin, crispy and perfectly blistered. Flavors are both unique and balanced, and toppings are high-quality meats, veg and cheeses. BUTWAIT… that’s not all! Get the salads. Get the entrees. They’re all phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back.

I have been here once. Ordered the Pig and Fig pizza and it was delicious! Definitely on the sweeter side but came with well cooked ham/bacon pieces on top.

Instead of our usual weekly phone call, my intern and I decided to have a brunch date at Nota Bene(formerly known as Pizza Tonight) to check out Richmond Brunch Weekend. I remember Pizza Tonight when it was the mobile brick oven that would show up at festivals and different events around town. To see where it is today is nothing short of inspiring. The interior is so my aesthetic. Low lighting, exposed brick, comfy seating, a cute bar, and fresh flowers on the table really set the mood. In fact, it made me feel like I need to bring my fiancé back for a real date night! Anyway, I digress. Our experience was top notch from start to finish. Our waitress(whose name escapes me!) was brilliant. She was great with suggestions and very patient with us, as we didn’t know where to begin. We both agreed that brunch libations were in order, so we ordered the Fiore Sparkler. Don’t let this clear drink fool you, it’s certainly not water! I was taken aback by how refreshing it was. It would be the perfect source of solace on a hot, humid, Virginia summer day. Next, we decided on two dishes, knowing that we would share a bit with each other. I got the baked egg and crab dish and my intern ordered the ricotta pancake with a side of spicy sausage. I mentioned to the waitress that I’d love if the egg could be cooked all the way(read: not runny). After speaking with the chef, she came back saying that it could be done! When my food arrived, it was perfection. I mean, my mind exploded when I tasted the flavors in the skillet of savory goodness. I was really happy with the amount of crab and ecstatic that they fulfilled my request of no runny egg. It was the best brunch meal I’ve ever had. Period. The ricotta pancake was delicious as well! So, so fluffy and good. It was way more like a regular pancake than I imagined it would be, which was a pleasant surprise. I could go on and on about how lovely of a time we had at Nota Bene. I can’t wait to see what the future holds and I’ll for sure be a regular customer!

I’m so happy I had the chance to try Nota Bene(formally Pizza Tonight) for brunch, because I had typically thought it was just a place for lunch or dinner. Boy, was I wrong! Our server was amazing. She took the time to explain the menu to us, including specials, and spoke directly to the chef about accommodating some meal requests for us. We started the meal with coffee and an amazing brunch cocktail called the Fiore Sparkler. This drink was EVERYTHING. Definitely a break from the typical brunch mimosa. I want to drink a pitcher of this on my porch all summer. On to entrees. I ordered the ricotta pancake with a side of sausage. The pancake was served piping hot in a skillet and topped with cinnamon baked apples. Top with some maple syrup and enter the gates of heaven! Amazing! Definitely a unique take on a typical pancake, and unlike anything I’ve had before. The sausage was great as well. They case it themselves in-house, and it was perfectly spiced. I also tried a bit of my friends dish, which was the baked egg a la Norma. It was a hit, and I’ll definitely get that on my next visit. Overall: great brunch with amazing service and setting. I’ll be back!

Underrated, great pizzas and play on flavor. Their products are always top notch and great ingredients make for great food. My favorite has to be the pig and fig but pair that with a jam on rye, you’ll be in for a great meal. Their cocktails here are one of the best and the atmosphere makes a great date night.

My fiancé and I came here for dinner a few months ago. We decided to give it a try based off all of the raving reviews. Worst decision ever. Service was ok. Wine is wine. The food was bland, no flavor at all and the crust on the pizza was barely cooked. We split the carbonara pasta and the potato rosemary pizza. I recommend saving your money and going to Dominos.

This place was great! Awesome, lively atmosphere and a really cool bar. Cocktails: I recommend the«Jaunty Walrus», it has tequila and aperol, interesting but delicious. I think I had 3. they certainly catch up with you. Appetizers: the lamp/pork meatballs were out of this world. Made in house and they have a smoky flavor to them. Definitely recommend. Dinner: So, the only thing that was not good was the Bucatini Carbonara. It tasted like flour. Not much taste to it. BUT, everyone else at the table had amazing dishes. The Pappardelle with lamb was out of the world. The pizzas were also great. Thin crust and bursting with flavors. The name kind of throws you off, but I recommend trying this new spot out.

Valentine’s was my second trip to Pizza Tonight– i went with my sisters and we all shared one of each pizza– which we all agreed was just a bit better than our favorite– 81⁄2. We had a great time, and they were especially accommodating to my sister’s 1 year old– which we really appreciated. Super friendly and helpful staff helped my other sister make a vegan pizza, and even though we had numerous restrictions/needs, they made us feel welcome and were very warm to us. Last night I went with my soon to be husband, and we had a really great dinner last night for Valentine’s Day! I’m a food service person– and rarely eat out on valentine’s because of the utter chaos it generally is, but Pizza Tonight really showed what pros they are last night. Last night’s $ 65 prix fix for a couple was a real winner– not only was it totally reasonable price wise for a special night, it excelled with speedy service, tasty food, everything that was supposed to be hot was hot, and everything was seasoned really well– and included a bottle of wine(and it was actually really good wine). The squid salad was an outstanding part of the evening. Everything went really smoothly during both visits! The crème puff is not to be missed. This place is one of my new favorites and a real gem in that neighborhood.

This is a must try in the bottom. The food was great, local beers on draft, and a great atmosphere… what’s not to love? Have a wood fired pizza, a nice drink, and enjoy time with company.

Service was little too be desired. When the reservation was made, it was not mentioned they will not split the check. We asked once seated and it seemed like an inconvenience to split it in 4. When trying to order we were told anything ordered would be served family style. With a group of 8 and half have dietary restrictions that wasn’t plausible. After we discussed going somewhere else, the waitress came back and said it was fine to order individually. The manager stood and listened to the entire 30 minute exchange but never intervened. Some of the food was good, some was mediocre. The sugartoad was the highlight. My pizza had holes in the crust it was so thin. To top it off, most of the group got sick. Definitely not a good place for groups.

Mediocre food, ambiance, and service. I’ve been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, but was not impressed by either meal. In addition to the lackluster food options, there was a sour smell coming from the kitchen that lingered throughout the meal. Overall, it was an over priced, forgettable dining experience that didn’t come close to other restaurant options in the Church Hill area and certainly couldn’t carry the water of the previous occupant of the space it’s in(Azisa’s).

This is a good pizza, but, there is a weird after-taste in the dough that I can’t place. It hurt what was otherwise a good pizza for me. I will have to try it again to see if it’s always there; it was a slightly off, bitter, taste. I’ve never tasted anything like that in a pizza. In all other ways, this was a perfect pizza, so I have to give them another shot.

You know, i wrote my review of my visit that i had a few weeks ago and was so hungry i went that night again — wow, big difference. Waitress greeted me this way«so are you drinking tonight?» seriously? probably one of the rudest! The pizza tonight was like a yummy marshmallow — perfectly burnt but gooey — i didn’t think the bottom of the pie was cooked long enough — i would of asked to cook a big longer but never was asked how my meal was! The pour of wine was ridiculous — i hope that was a mistake — since the bartender was on the phone! Ill try it again!!!

I went to Pizza Tonight for dinner on a Saturday night. Pizza Tonight recently opened in the Shockoe Bottom area. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated immediately. I had a potato pizza(Potato, Rosemary, Chiles, & Grano Padano) & Bucatini Carbonara together as an entrée. Our food came out hot. My pizza and pasta was decent. Pizza Tonight chili oil is perfect for adding more flavor to items(not overwhelmingly spicy). Our server was attentive and polite. Pizza Tonight has a nice ambience. There’s street parking sounding the restaurant. I give Pizza Tonight a 2.5 rating rounded up to 3 because of service.

Just moved to Richmond and decided to try this place based on the Unilocal reviews. It did not disappoint! The food was outstanding. We visited on a Tuesday and opted for the date night special which was $ 50 for a bottle of wine, an appetizer to share, two main courses and a dessert. We ordered the sparkling red, chickpea salad, Pig and Fig pizza, pasta carbonara and the panna cotta. All of it was outstanding, especially the Pig and Fig! Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other menu items!

I really dig Pizza Tonight. I’ve had their excellent food truck pizzas after many long bike rides that seem to conveniently end at Ardent Craft Ales in Scott’s Addition, but this takes it to the next level. First of all, bravo on the brick & mortar approach here: The design and décor is spectacular! It really sets a nice relaxing mood(and those awesome built in shelves — WHOA — how often do you go into a restaurant and feel inspired by the built-in storage?) Secondly, the curated beer/wine selections include many interesting & unique options I haven’t spotted elsewhere in Richmond, such as the Stone Graniac Ale. We had the Margarita pizza as an appetizer, to accompany the warmed Green Olives(served in a lovely cast iron pan filled with roasted fresh rosemary, garlic and hot pepper infused olive oil). Both were excellent and went well with my Graniac Ale. No fussy nonsense getting in the way. The Octopus & Bean dish is otherwordly — a perfect amount of lemon/citrus/herb balance to marry the earthiness of the beans with the tender seafood. #NomNom. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended!

I was SO sad when Aziza’s closed so was hoping that whatever replaced it would be great… and it WAS! I’ve only been one so far for lunch but I’ll definitely be back! The inside is adorable and cozy. The pizza was DELICIOUS(fig & pig) and so was the Papparadelle pasta. I can’t wait to go back and try other pizzas, pastas and small plates!

I can’t say enough good things about this new spot in Shockoe Bottom. We arrived at 7:00 on a Saturday and the place was packed but without feeling frenetic. The space is gorgeous and features a wood-burning pizza oven in the dining room. A large l-shaped bar adds to the ambiance. Menu items, classified as small and medium plates, pasta and pizza are written on large chalkboards in the dining room, indicating that they change frequently. We shared the lamb and pork meatballs as a starter – they were delicious, complemented by a fresh tomato sauce but not drowned in it. I had the lamb pappardelle and my partner the sausage, tomato and ricotta pizza. Both were amazing. I could have eaten both myself. Knowledgeable, warm and welcoming service from our server, Kay, rounded out an evening we hope to soon replicate. And, there’s parking in the back!

Imagine the perfect date night at a restaurant: an atmosphere conducive to the mood that movies tell us should be set filled with its dull roar of conversation, drinks being carefully prepared by skilled bartenders, mini tea lights adorning each of the tables in the shop creating a warm glow that calms you while keeping the food’s subtle, but much appreciated presentation in view as the plates sit between you and your date as a playlist consisting of «Dancing Queen» and other conversation-starter songs helps to assuage any nervousness you have on your first date. And of course, there’s pizza. Lots and lots of homemade quality, thoughtfully made pizza. Victoria Aracri has done a wonderful job turning her mobile shop into a full-fledged, bustling business in the Bottom. As a patron of both the mobile oven and now that I’ve moved back from Austin recently, the restaurant, I can say the only thing missing from such excellent food was the skillful design of the tables and hardback chairs. The staff is still just as genuinely personable and knowledgeable as before, but seem to be floating over the ground knowing that they are just as happy as their seated customers. I was first captivated by the Fig and Pig around 2012, and 3 years later can say that not much has changed in regards to the recipe or my feelings about such a great pie. My date tried the bucatini and loved it so much she wasn’t embarrassed by the fact she took much too big of a bite and had a noodle dangling from her mouth to her plate for a few moments. Okay, she was a wee bit embarrassed but that’s besides the point.

Ate here with my boyfriend for lunch today since we were in Richmond running a job. We ordered the pappadelle with lamb and the pizza with salami(name is escaping me). Both were amazing and service was fast. The only issue I have is that you can only order from the lunch menu and it’s pretty small. You have a choice of salads, soups, pastas, pizzas and desserts but there is only 3 – 4 meals per section. The dinner menu is much larger. But the food is really good and maybe some day I will try for dinner when I am in the area.

They are just getting out of the gates, so will definitely try again. Had their mushroom pizza that you could tell has the potential to be very good. The problem is they have a very small pizza oven and no heat lamps. So, when I got my pizza(while they were waiting on the other two at my table to cook) it got cold. If you like cold pizza then this place is for you. The other update that should help this place is they just got the word that they got their liquor license. Tip — ask them to bring the pies out as they come out of the oven.

Pizza Tonight catered my wedding this past weekend. They never let the smiles leave their faces and were unbelievably friendly and courteous. The food was amazing and I received rave reviews from guests all night! They were personable and efficient. I would highly recommend PT to anyone who needs catering or just wants to enjoy delicious pizza. My favorite was the carbonara but even their simple salad did not disappoint.

I visited this truck during the«Twilight 4 Miler» at Hardywood. My major issue was the wait time. I believe the crowd was a little bigger than Pizza Tonight had anticipated. EVERY food truck had a line of at least 50 people, when we started looking for a place to eat. We waited in this line and then ordered. We saw a group of people to the side, and figured we’d have to wait for them to get their pizza before ours became available. NOONETOLDUSANYTHINGABOUT A WAITTIME. After 20 minutes, we inquired. We were told that we weren’t even close, and to come back in 30 minutes. THAT’S WHENWEFOUNDOUTTHATTHEPEOPLEWAITINGNEXTTOTHETRUCKHADALREADYLEFTANDCOMEBACK30MINUTESLATER! When I asked for my money back, the owner told the employee that people can«always» get their money back, so this was comforting. However, we decided to stick it out. We ended up getting our pizza 50 minutes after ordering, without being told about any wait time at all, until we inquired. Add that time to our time waiting in line, and you get an even hour. Most people had gone home, it was dark and cold, and I had already gone to another food truck, by the time we got to eat the pizza. The wait time was unacceptable, and the VERY least they could have done would have been to inform people of the wait prior to ordering.

Definitely gotta bump Pizza Tonight up to 5 stars… probably should’ve done this a while ago, but better late than never! Not only have I continued to be impressed(and my tastebuds incredibly satisfied) by Pizza Tonight since my first review two years ago, but I can also now add«makes an excellent event caterer» to my list of reasons why I love them. My husband and I planned an outdoor rehearsal dinner for our wedding a few weeks ago, and we knew from the get-go that we wanted to bring some of our RVA favorites to Scottsville for the event. Pizza Tonight was an obvious choice for us, as we are both huge fans of their offerings and we knew our friends and family would wind up in that camp as well. From the initial inquiry email to the final event execution, PT couldn’t have been more professional, friendly, and easy to work with. We chose to do four pizza flavors and a salad, plus one gluten-free meal for a friend with dietary restrictions. Our pizzas were Fig & Pig, Della Nonna(sausage), Rocket Fan with black olives, and Margherita(gotta have a classic, right?). As my husband and I already knew, each pizza was amazing and our guests couldn’t stop raving(or eating!). The way the catering works is that PT continuously replenishes the pizzas throughout the event, so guests serve themselves by the slice and can try as many flavors as they’d like. It was the smoothest food operation imaginable, and the perfect option to please all palates. Plus, the leftovers made for an amazing late-night snack after the wedding festivities the next evening. I really can’t rave about Pizza Tonight enough — track them down in RVA for a pie AND hire them for your catering needs! I promise you won’t regret it.

Pizza Tonight serves up my favorite pizza in Richmond. It’s never a bad time for this deliciousness. My husband and I even got them to cater our rehearsal dinner, which was awesome. I wouldn’t recommend their pizza kits(and haven’t ever heard anyone else say differently), but don’t miss the truck if you’re lucky enough to catch it.

My very first stop at Food Truck Court when I heard just how awesome this pizza is all over Unilocal and I have to say it lives up to the hype! Super amazed that these guys bring a brick oven everywhere so people can enjoy their super thin, wood fire pizza! The Food & Drink. — Margherita Pizza(pictured): I went with a tried and true favorite. My oh my this was good, I finished it all! Perfectly made! The next time I go, I will try other flavors and add to this review! — Mexi-Cola: The real sugar stuff. Not that fake fructose mess. Get it! The Service. Fast service. You may have to wait depending on the line. I had a few orders already in front of me, but my pizza came out in minutes. Overall, if you love pizza, you have to try this place out!
