I had to look up the reviews because they are opening a lemon cuisine of India about fifty feet from my home on P St NWDC. Looking forward.

Service sucks. Don’t know but the servers seems to have some sort of attitude. Although food was fine.

Very slow service. The food that arrived was cold. I also observed that the waiters are more courteous and available for white people than anybody else! Racists!

This place. All I can say is «wow». Or I actually shouldn’t say anything because my mouth should be full of the magical garlic naan and butter chicken that I fell in love with earlier today. Seriously. This place has some of the best butter chicken, naan, and chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had. I’m in love.

Lemon Cuisine is a quiet oasis near Boulevard and Broad, just a half mile west on Broad Street. It is currently my favorite Indian restaurant in all of Richmond. I find that the managers and waiters take care to give advice and listen to the client’s preferences, and I like that they make suggestions about the spice level for a certain dish, for example. I think this shows they care about the integrity of the flavors. The dining rooms are quiet and nicely appointed. So far, we have always been happy here.

This place was terrible. The food was so very bland compared to other Indian restaurants that I have been to. The décor and service was okay but it just didn’t make up for the fact that the food tasted awful. Two stars and that’s definitely not for the food.

This place is the best Indian food I’ve had in Richmond! And also their service is great, everyone’s been so friendly. If you’re looking for an amazing deal, come by during lunch(I think weekdays only). It’s phenomenal, you get so much bargain for your buck, and such delicious quality food too! I’ve never had anything I didn’t like there. My absolute favorite is the chicken korma, definitely try if you like creamy and spicy.

Went to this spot with a Co-worker for lunch and we really stuffed ourselves! The food is so wonderful it is hard to stop eating haha. It will become a regular spot for me. Great service. Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Delicious food. I’m not sure what else you could want!

Lemon Cuisine is one of my favorite lunch spots. They have a broad selection of menu items and serve a complete and delicious meal for a very reasonable price. I think this was my third visit for lunch and I’ve had the classic chicken tikka masala, a tandoori platter, and a chicken madras. Each entrée includes a soup or salad, fresh naan(soooo good!), a vegetable and a dessert. I think it’s impossible to leave Lemon without a full stomach. The service is also very professional, efficient and friendly. They’ve always been quick to explain menu items when I ask, and check in through the meal to be sure everything is good. Even though it’s a lunch service, they don’t rush me through like many places. I’m happy that Lemon is near my office because it gives me an easy excuse to have a great meal instead of fast food.

I normally steer away from chicken tikka masala and try more obscure dishes. The waiter said that the chicken tikka masala was their signature dish so against my better judgement I ordered it. I was glad I did. On my return trips I’ll have a hard decision to make, stick with it, or try everything else.

I love the fact they offer different levels of heat, the naan was great and the dishes were the best I’ve had in comparison to other Indian restaurants in town. The chutney is to die for and I like that there were still chunks of mango in it. I do wish they would explain how much food you are getting so you order enough naan and rice. Lemon’s dining atmosphere lacks but the food makes up for it.

This is my go-to fancy restaurant when I want to splurge or treat myself. It’s a little higher-priced but absolutely worth it. The portions are ginormous and I always leave with leftovers. The food is so delicious, not just«good» but deeeeelicious. And I gotta say, there’s something about the atmosphere of the restaurant that makes me feel like I’m abroad. The layout, the lighting, the decorations. Granted, this is based on me watching British tv and how they portray Indian restaurants but it makes me feel extra cozy. I really recommend this place for dinner if you have visitors; it’s warm and spacious and tasty. There’s choices that would likely appeal to a wide range of palates as well.

This has to be my absolute favorite local spot in Richmond for authentic Indian fare! Do you like amazing customer service, great spaces, and good food? This sweet spot is for you. Picture it: walking in on a Sunday evening and passing a few locals who are picking up to-go orders. You are instantly greeted and sat down among the fellow visitors as the scent of spices like turmeric and garlic fill the air. Our waiter immediate filled our glasses and asked if we would like anything off of their daily 4−7pm happy hour menu($ 2 off glasses of wine, $ 5 drafts). My partner choose a pint of Kingfisher and I snagged a glass of Pinot Noir. The décor was light an airy and quite open. They have a hookah bar on the left of the main door with a bar and the dining area and a bar under construction on the other side. I did not smell any of the hookah on the dining side of the restaurant. As we started looking over the menu, and peering over our shoulders at the vast array of plates being sat down at the tables around us, our waiter was kind enough to bring us an array of dips and a couple of naan chips as a light appetizer. I was happy to see so many options are Gluten-Free and they have a great deal of Vegetarian dishes for those who are looking for items for their specific needs. I ordered the Lamb Saag(gluten free) at $ 16(flavored medium) and my partner had the Tandoori Chicken with Tikki Mango sauce at $ 16(flavored mild). We also ordered a side of garlic naan, which came with a side of Tadzhik sauce. The naan which was warm and tasted light and airy and was lightly flavored with garlic and herbs. It was the perfect appetizer prior to our meals. When our meals arrived, they were quite large portions. We had a large plate of jasmine rice that was more than plentiful to share on its own, however our portions equally were enough for two. Both the chicken and lamb was so well cooked and tender. Each piece was flavorful and had a great deal of flavor. We were so full, we opted to take our leftovers home for lunch the next day. While we did have enough room for dessert, we decided to enjoy it next time. We were happily surprised about Lemon. While I have always seen so many people parked around Lemon, I had never been in there before, even after living right down the street from them. However, I am surely going to be sharing my positive experience with friends, and fellow food enthusiasts who enjoy new spots will surely enjoy this. Parking can be a bit difficult if they are busy(there is some street parking on Broad, but they also have a small parking lot on the side of the building(about 15 spots or so). However, do not let that deter you from enjoying this place, as it is worth the visit!

Meh. Meh. Meh. I haven’t been to Lemon in years and I was so excited to take my boyfriend who had never been I used to absolutely love it, but this time was a pretty miserable experience. Early into dining I excused myself to go to the restroom and discovered the teeny tiny bathroom was absolutely filthy, like overflown toilets and poo on the floor filthy. I immediately told the hostess, who seemed legitimately concerned. I saw her tell a few staff members, but no one did anything. From my seat I saw multiple patrons walk in and out and tell the hostess the same thing and watched not one of her colleagues get up and do anything about it. My boyfriend ordered a goat dish which came out with four pieces of goat and about 20 pieces of bone. When we told the server, he told us that’s just how it is and seemed annoyed. We pressed for a do over and we waited a good 15 – 20 minutes for it. The food was mediocre at best, but the repulsive bathrooms will make me never ever return.

First time having Indian cuisine! Unfortunately, I can be a picky eater and not so eager to try new things; however, my good friend had a birthday dinner here, so it gave me the opportunity to get outside of my comfort zone! So a few people ordered appetizers, and I tried a little of a couple. One was Lasooni Gobhi, which is crispy cauliflower florets in a tomato glaze, which was supposed to be zesty, but I didn’t really get any zest. Not bad though. The second one was Samosa Chaat, which consisted of potatoes and chickpeas in some onion and tomato herb. It was amazing! I’m not a huge chickpea fan, but I could have eaten that whole dish as my entrée! So for my entrée, I ordered the Butter Chicken, which on their menu is described as, «Tandoori chicken and onion in an aromatic tomato based makhni sauce finished with fresh ground spices and cream.» It was a hearty portion that I hardly made a dent in! I got it in medium hot or hot I believe. It was perfect. Had it over Basmati Jeera Rice. Also ordered Garlic Naan… So yummy! I was really impressed with the staff too. They were very friendly and recognized a few regulars in our group. Definitely will be coming back! I’ve heard their lunch specials are great as well!

Although Lemon is very much a «hole in the wall» type of restaurant, their food is SO good. I’ve gone back several times, and I’ve gotten paneer tikka masala every time(creature of habit, indeed) and never been disappointed. I highly recommend!

I don’t normally crave Indian food but had a hankering for it a few weeks ago. Been meaning to try Lemon after reading all the great reviews and I’m so glad I did — Lemon Cuisine is now officially my go-to spot for Indian food! I used the online order tool through Unilocal which was an absolute breeze and the order was ready for pick-up in no time. NOMS –Garlic Naan: garlicky, pillowy, and flavorful — be sure to get at least 2 orders because I guarantee you will want more. –Mutter Paneer: I LOVE Paneer(mild cheese kind of like mozzarella but«squeakier») and the tomato makhni sauce with spices, cream, and peas is sooo flavorful and comforting; we got it «medium spicy» which wasn’t overwhelming, might even bump it up on the spice level next time. –Achari Chicken Ka Korma: the cashew sauce and Achar marinated chicken was tasty and great for someone who prefers a more mildly flavored dish. Ask for a side of Raita(yogurt sauce) — it’s perfect with the Naan. And there were enough leftovers for a second meal so yay! I haven’t tried their killer lunch deal yet($ 10-$ 11 for entrée with sides, naan, rice, and dessert!) but will do so in the future! They also have Happy Hour from 5pm-7pm. Lemon will definitely be added to my list of delicious take-out spots :)

Really enjoyed my meal from here. Wish I had tried this before, it’s been on my list for a while Spicy paneer appetizer — great flavor, decent size, addicting pieces of cheese Garlic naan — fresh garlic, very solid naan Lamb tikka — this blew my mind. Great tikka, and really good lamb. I loved this dish. The green chutney is also really tasty. I got so much food and couldn’t stop until I finished everything

Best Indian food in the RVA. Everything is delicious, fresh and the service is awesome. An average meal is around $ 15 – 25 dollars but you receive plenty of food. Date night, groups and business meals are a few things that come to mind as a reason to visit. The ambience is romantic with low lights. The staff is dressed in all black and are great to request reference to the dishes of speciality. The naan is always hot and they also have peach chutney! I am just getting excited writing the review. I have visited at least 7 times and was in bliss when we lived in Scott’s Addition because I could walk to Lemon. A must to visit when craving for Indian food.

Even though it’s been two years since my last review, I have been several times since then. On my most recent visit, the décor hasn’t changed but It was noticeably more dim and both me and my friend noticed it. It was our other friend’s first time here so wanted to make sure she good a good Indian food experience. We were seated immediately on a Friday night for dinner around 7PM. I got the Shrimp Masala and come to think of it I have only gotten shrimp dishes here… The shrimp this time was just slightly overcooked but it still tasted great and the actual size of the shrimp has become a bit smaller but the amount of shrimp made up for that. the Maknni sauce in my dish was absolutely perfect! It was creamy, deliciousness and a perfect amount of heat(I requested a medium spicy). My friend that has come here before got the Vegetable Korma and I had a little bit of that which was pretty tasty. All of our entrees came with a community place of rice and they were able to fill it a second time with no extra charge. The service was also impeccable! They were friendly and made sure to exceed all of our expectations by checking up on us and providing an exceptional service. This is the ONLY place to get Indian food in RVA.
