I recently went in to Atlantic Embroidery Works to have a kate spade wristlet monogrammed for a graduation gift! I was so excited that I had found this place with great reviews and on such short notice. I went in and dropped off the wristlet and the lady working at the front gave me advice on the font and color for the monogram. I had it rush ordered and they seemed like that was not a problem at all. I left and they said they would email me a sketch of the stitching. blah blah blah. The evening passes and in the morning the owner calls me and says that the wristlet is «too small» for the machines and they can no longer do the monogram. That’s fine. I would rather they call me and tell me it won’t look good then mess up a designer wallet. I drive the 30 minutes to get the wristlet(i’m in a rush) and grab it and head home. When I got back I noticed that the kate spade emblem has been scuffed and there is an indentation on the wristlet of where it looks like a machine started the monogram. I promptly sent Craig an e-mail(the one who I had been speaking with) and told him that there was clearly an indentation on the wristlet and in a different state then when I dropped it off the day before. I was very polite in the email and asked his advice on what I should do. He then calls me within 30 minutes and it goes south from there. He was the most rude, disrespectful grumpy Brit I’ve ever spoken to. He said«this is not my fault I’m not paying for it» «you can bring it in but I’m not going to pay for it» and was so defensive. I was in tears as I was listening to this man speak to me in that way. It would have been fine if he said come in and we can access the damage and go from there but there was no remorse and probably the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I have told many people NOT to go and have monogramming done there and you most certainly won’t see me in there again.

Love a monogram? Looking to personalize a gift? Atlantic Embroidery Works is your spot. Located on the second level of the Village Shopping Center, you would likely never find this gem unless you were looking for it. Luckily, a quick search for embroidery places in RVA yielded AEW as a top result and I was able to have bridal party gifts monogrammed semi-last minute. The shop itself is filled with cute items, which you can purchase and have personalized, or you can opt to bring in outside items to have embroidered. I went with the latter option, since I had already purchased clutch bags with the goal of adding my bridesmaids’ monograms. The woman who helped me was awesome at recommending complementary threads for each bag color and also gave me tips on font sizes. I was very impressed with the end result, and I think my girls were as well. One of them has even swapped out her go-to bag and now uses her monogrammed one on the regular. I will definitely be going to Atlantic Embroidery for any future monogramming or personalization needs. And I’ll likely be checking out the shop’s inventory for monogrammable items as well.

Positive: I think the work is good and some of the staff can be friendly. The location is convenient and there is ample parking. Aside from the forgiving price misquote given me by new staff they performed as promised in terms of meeting stated deadlines. I am pleased with the end result of the workmanship. Negative: The price misquote came as a surprise and Nicky Davis was very firm about maintaining her position that, although somewhat apologetic, this very menial amount would increase the price originally quoted. Ok, fine. But, I think that when mistakes are made that businesses should do SOMETHING to demonstrate their sincerity and to honor their mistake. Compromise maybe? Offer a discount on future merchandise perhaps? It’s not a good look to essentially make the customer feel as though the error is theirs. One of my biggest pet peeves when doing business is feeling unappreciated as a customer when I’m paying for a service that I really don’t have to have. Uuggh. Reputation is critical, ask Sara Blakely. Thankfully, there are other local embroidery businesses and that I can always order on-line.

Came here to get a shirt embroidered as a gift for a friend and it was in a hurry to get it done. The guys here did a great job getting it done the same day(extra $ 20 for rush) and going off the example I had given them. My only complaint was that the«PharTech» ended up being«Pharmtech.» I know I had told the lady how to spell it and saw her write it down as such, but that’s how I ended up getting it. To their credit, I did refuse to proof the order since I was in a hurry so learn from my mistake and PROOF your order! Still, these guys did an amazing job and really helped picking the perfect thread color for the mixed shirt. Regardless of the little typo, my friend absolutely loved his present and wore it immediately when he got it. Thanks to these guys for making the present extra special! Make sure to check out the store’s merchandise! Lots of cute items to give as gifts or buy for yourself!

I love Atlantic Embroidery. They do great work. I recently had a Vera Bradley duffle bag monogrammed with my initials and i am very happy. I have other things that i need to take to them when I have time. They have embroidered some polo onsies for my friend’s babies and they have a great assortment of things to buy that they will monogram for you. The also put my husband’s company logo on a fleece vest of his. I think he just emailed them the logo and they did the rest! Being a true southern belle, I love a good monogram. They have so many fonts and colors of thread to choose from. My bag was monogrammed in less than a week and I was thrilled. The person assisting me was so knowledgeable about the colors and how they’d look on my navy bag. I am so happy with the orange initials and they really pop on my bag. This place could be dangerous to my wallet, but I love it! They are located in the village shopping center on Three Chopt and Patterson. Go upstairs in the«office» part and go past the dance studio and you are there!

Atlantic Embroidery is a great place for customized gifts and cool stuff. When I was in college this was the spot for sorority gifts, monogrammed bags and other girly stuff. Since then, I’ve continued to shop there and have discovered lots of great stuff. This store got me hooked on the Jane Marvel line of oilcloth luggage. It comes in fun, colorful patterns and can be quickly wiped off if any gunk gets on it. I got a friend a really cute roll out cosmetic bag by this line with her new initials on it as part of a wedding shower gift. I also got my mom an awesome oversized tote with her initials embroidered on it. This stuff is worth full price, but you can also score in-stock items with cheap embroidery on seasonal sales. Sign up for emails to learn when they take place. Atlantic Embroidery also sells pajamas, reuseable shopping bags, towels, cosmetic bags and other fun stuff, all of which can be monogrammed. Monogram service is quick and efficient. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I’ve always been happy with my purchases from here and will continue to shop here in the future.
