Pepper cop sis. Yikes. My face hurts but i love it. Annette gives me extra special peppers too take home to my «dad i can eat anything» challenge. Service second to none. Proprietary and rightfully so. Yum! Fried liver cubes. Can’t eat one of everything, I’m stuffed sick as it is, but i would try. Nice diversion in the Kew Gardens area of Queens. My Turkish friend confirmed the meticulous authenticity. BYOB… Mehembe!

Visited friends in Kew Gardens and came here for lunch. This is some of the best Turkish food I’ve ever had. So fresh. The place was completely empty on a Saturday afternoon and I was expecting much by the look of the place. However, the food absolutely blew me away. Shared a salad, hummus, babaganoush, falafel and the chicken kebob. My favorite was definitely the chicken. Oh! And the bread. So fresh and light. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

Love the food. Excellent service. Portions were not generous though. We ordered 3 different meals and they were all very small portions. i am usually not able to eat all my food whenever I eat out but not here. I had everything. Nothing to take home. Also very convenient to my house.

New Year’s Eve myself, my wife and my sister and her husband had an early dinner at Roka. The food was wonderful. My brother in law and I each had the mixed grill and my wife and my sister each had two different shrimp dishes. Needless to say all the plates were cleaned to the bone. The food was wonderful and I have to say, Anet, the owner, treated you like family. It was like eating in Momma’s kitchen. We also wanted a little something for desert and she suggested to have some Baklava and some other dish I could not pronounce. Both of these were fabulous and we will have them both again. Anet is a wonderful hostess. She is concerned about you, as the customer, totally. Her conversation makes you feel right at home. There is not enough they can do for you. As a dining experience is was perfect and then, on top of that, you add Anet and her warmth and caring and it all makes for a great meal. One final thing, my wife and I went there the first 2 weeks they were open to take something home for dinner. It was in the winter and was very cold outside. While we were waiting Anet brought us some tea and we sipped the tea as we waited for our dishes to be ready. It was a very kind gesture she did for 2 people that were freezing. Some might say it was only a cup of tea, which is true, but she did not have to do anything at all. Since our 1st visit, we have been there often. What a wonderful addition is to the neighborhood so all of you that live near Metropolitan Avenue and Park Lane South, get over there. You will have a great, meal, priced very well, some nice conversation, and a hostess that makes you feel right at home.

Everything was well done and delicious. The portions of appetizers are small for their price, but they were delicious. The entrees were tasty. The owner Annete is very nice lady. We would definitely come again. You can also bring your own beer, wine, any alcohol. Overall good and cozy restaurant.

Quality, Quality, Quality. They have mastered that. The mix grill was great. A little less in terms of the portion, but the taste is good enough for you to ignore that. Great service as well. Sat outside because the weather was nice, but they still catered to us efficiently.

Wow, is this place good. My husband is Turkish so we hired them to cater our wedding. The food was all people were talking about after! The Americans AND friends and family who had flown in from Turkey. Sadly, neither my husband nor I got to eat at the wedding because the food went so fast(that’s how these things go!), but we come back to Roka every time we’re in the neighborhood.

Finally had a chance to try this place after months of driving by the area. Came to celebrate one of my best friend’s birthday, Suraiya P. She has officially joined the 26 yr old club. Time surely flies. It was just four people and the place wasn’t busy at all. The place is BYOB, so bring what you may. As the owner said, she likes when her customers bring their own liquor because people like different things. We had an assortment of food. The eggplant salad was great!!! Wow. We also had pita bread. The entrees were a collection of lamb chops, chicken doner plates and manti. The meat and chicken, we thoroughly enjoyed. The manti, not so much. It was dipped in too much sauce and sour cream. Too heavy for my taste. Wouldn’t recommend that. But everything else, including the dessert was worth the wait. Will return. Peep the photos of the food!

Delicious food, great staff and lovely place. I recommend the mixed grill and mixed appetizer. You get to taste a little of everything. Wish the prices were a little more reasonable, but the food is worth it.

One of the worse service restaurant in Forest Hills/Kew Gardens. The food(lamb kababs) had no taste. Both waiters didn’t speak a word of english, we had to speak in a sign language. Never going back again.

My experience in one word… Delicious! Come on a week day before 3pm for the lunch special. A soup, salad, entrée, rice and turkish tea(apple black tea) or coffee. The food is fresh and extremely tasty. Service is outstanding. One of my favorite places to eat. I am ecstatic I found this place!

Great place. Great food. It’s a BYOB place so that really keeps the price down. The owner is always there and she’s a sweetheart. Food doesn’t get much better than this and if you like tea it’s off the charts. We eat here about 3x a month. If you like Turkish food or even if you never have had it you MUST try this place.

Roka is a neighborhood staple. It always has flavorful dishes that it can deliver to your door if you live nearby. I’m especially a fan of their complimentary soft naan bread that they deliver with your order. The prices are atypically steep for the Kew Gardens area but you can always count on a good meal here. The staff is friendly and not overbearing, and the ambiance of the restaurant is intimate. I love the Sigara Boregi appetizer(cheese rolls with tart feta and a flaky, fried phyllo exterior) and their soup entrees. I lived off their soup when I was sick last fall.

I highly recommend Roka in Kew Gardens. The kitchen prepared healthy and delicious dishes which are very satisfying. The restaurant has a lovely mosaic in the wall and it is very clean and modern looking. Staff is so nice and welcoming.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place already! My boyfriend and I have stopped by here for both lunch and dinner. We have had great experiences and we both enjoyed the mixed grill. The owner is very friendly and definitely takes pride in her establishment. She uses quality ingredients and I can definitely taste the difference. This is definitely my go to Turkish restaurant in the area.

This has been on my to try list for awhile, but it was a place I always forgot to think of as an option. We decided to takeout and when we went to pick up our order it was ready and waiting. Cacik is like a Greek taziki sauce and was very garlicky, but tasty. Izgarakotte Entrée are the Turkish lamb meatballs, they had a nice char to them and were packed with flavor. They were hearty and delicious. Mixed Grill Entrée an assortment of adana kebab, shish kebab, gyro kebab and lamb chops. Everything was cooked well and very good. Each entrée was served with a ton of rice, onions and a roasted pepper. We also received some of the homemade Turkish bread, which was warm and chewy and wonderful.

Annette is supper friendly & would do everything humanly possible to make you happy. Food is always solid & superb . This is one of the top Turkish restaurants in. NYC. Another favorite place of mine is in the city called Turkish Kitchen on 3rd ave, yet this place is next door from where I live . To the people that see the place empty during the day, understand that there is no one in the neighborhood & all are working.
