They actually deserve a zero rating! Just got back from dinner for my dad’s birthday and we regret ever coming here. The service is HORRIBLE! I mean having to eat without menus, plates, napkins and being waited for 1 hour to get our food while the chicken was raw! I felt bad for the 3 servers who has to serve the WHOLE restaurant! IFYOUWANTTOHAVE A GOODDINNER — DON’T BOTHERCOMINGHERE — you will be disappointed!

The family platter was great. We got three different kabobs and green rice and the eggplant appetizer. Its easily enough food for four people and for 50 $ an affordable meal. The combination included a pitcher of tea and soda.

Did not like the food one bit. Less than mediocre, the meats were super dry, the rice was flavorless. I did not enjoy the meal, I liked the mango lassi but that was probably it. I will not be going back.

Really good food. The décor, table setting, lighting, were great. This is a great location for birthday parties, graduations, etc. The waitresses are extremely pleasant and accommodating. The wait for food is rather long. But the food is good and the ambiance is perfect. I love the design and wall décor a lot. This is a great place to take your loved one and avoid the city like the plague.

Great food, love the environment. The staff is very friendly. The Tikka kabab is very savory and delicious. Will be going back again to eat.

Great atmosphere and service. Loved their bread and manto. However for the kabab entrees, it’s expensive for the amount when compared to Kabul Kabab. The lamb tikka kabab was delicious but very small pieces. Didn’t really find the chicken jujeh kabab too flavorful.

This is one of my favorite afghan restaurants in the whole NYC. I’ve been here a few times and every time I come, I purchase the sambuseh(dumplings) and the chicken kabob with the qabuli rice(raisins and carrots on top of the rice), the sambuseh Re really good, especially wit their amazing white sauce. But the chicken is just amazing. It is very tender and juicy and packed with flavor. The owners of the place are always there and always ask how everything was. It is also very spacious, so you can always have your privacy. The décor is also quite nice with dim lighting, and low music. I recommend this restaurant to everyone

Don’t come here for the décor. Ceiling is in need of some repair. The floor tiles are coming up. And floor has food particles — some rice, some argue crumbs. Hummus is good. Not too salty. The kabab for four is ok. ¾ of the plate is rice. So yea, rice for like 6 ppl but kabab for 3 adults. House salad is plain. The cucumber yogurt is delicious. Tea is a nice way to end the meal Service is wonderful. I did a culture faux pas– don’t wear no sleeves. Plus this is a family restaurant– if you don’t like kids, get take out instead

To begin with, nice atmosphere, big place, good for family gathering. Well thats what brought us here. We came in, greeted by the server, she took us to our table, brought in the drink, and then we ordered. This is the best part, the food took more than half an hour to arrive to the table. Good thing we were not that hungry, or else we might have suffered a lot. Then finally the plates came in rolling. We digged in, the meat was tender and really juicy, this alone changed our mood, We dined for another hour, the portion was so big that we had to take our sweet time to finish it.

3.5 I came here once before and had a bad experience with the food and service. So i came again not expecting much. We ordered two family platters and a few separate orders of lamb chops. I really enjoyed the food especially the way the red onions were prepared. I could eat that by itself. The lamb chops were delicious but have to be eaten while they are hot. I would definitely come back for the food. However there was a party going on next door in their party hall with really loud music. The music was good, i liked it but the restaurant was also playing music and it was very distracting to have two different kinds of music being played at the same time.

My first time trying Afghan food although I have had kebabs at other locations. We ordered their version of samosas which weren’t bad. It was flatter and had minced meat inside. The spicy green sauce definitely added more flavor to it. We then ordered 2 family size platter which fed 9 people easily. I never had rice with raisins before so that was interesting although it took a while to get used to it. The chicken kebabs were really good and I didn’t mind the lamb. However the beef was a bit tough. Overall the food was ok. I highly doubt I’ll come back but I think I’ll try Afghan food again but at a better restaurant.

I was absolutely in love with this place when I visited couple years back. Everything from the food to the décor was excellent! However, during one of my more recent visits, I was sadly disappointed! The food quality here and really dropped. The meat is no longer juicy and flavorful as it used to be years back. The décor of the place has also changed from my first visit(which you will see in the pictures). If you’re really in the mood for Afghan Food, I recommend checking out other places such as Bakther(good food, but not much of an ambience) or Arya Kabob House(a bit more expensive than Bakthar, but quality of meats are better too). Both these places offer good quality Afghan Cuisine.

My relatives come here often and has spoken highly of their kabobs. So I came here for my halal birthday dinner with my family and we ordered the family style mixed kabobs platter. It is a big size & easily feeds upto 5 adults. Lamb kabobs were good, chicken kabobs was unbearable to my taste buds. My favorite has to be the green hot sauce that went so well with the brown rice. Also, their service is super slow at best and the waiter served us stale coke in a pitcher. Very disappointing. Anyways, I wouldn’t go back! This is New York & I have tried better Afghani cuisine elsewhere.

Worst service I ever experienced. Had them return the food to the kitchen Never again nor would I recommend anyone going there. They don’t even deserve a star from me. The manager himself even chose to ignore me while I was waiting for my food. I only wanted to know what was taking so long. They didn’t even bring me my drink after 20 Min or more. Then the manager started talking very negatively at me.

3.5 Star for the food but the 1 star goes to service and the bill. Food is ok but a bit pricey. The 1 goes to service. First of all we were the only people in the restaurant and I had to remind the weight staff we had food waiting both times for appetizers and main course. Secondly CAREFULLYREVIEW the bill for add ons. I’ll leave it at that. I’m a bit upset about my experience there. I’ve been driving by Ali Baba for year and so excited to visit after all this time. Its unfortunate my experience was a bad one.
