This is a nice restaurant. The food is good. It is at America’s oldest inn. The waitress is friendly. The area was clean. The bathroom was okay not so clean. I may be back.

I love this place every time I come here. Both the tavern and the greenhouse offer wonderful ambiance with the best service and dining. I would definitely recommend the rack of lamb; it was literally cooked to perfection. Top on my list for go to places in Rhinebeck for excellent food at a reasonable price.

We came in for a late dinner last night and was served by Jen! She is the best. We wanted to split a meal and a salad and she accommodated us. The Caesar salad was just perfect(and that is actually not easy to do) and the trout(with almonds and capers), garlicky rice, and zucchini was simply delish!

This is my favorite restaurant. A great place to meet with friends for a leisurely lunch or dinner and an equally good place to meet with business associates. The food is delicious, the service wonderful and the atmosphere is friendly. The beautiful, colonial setting and the gardens are a bonus.

We had a quick lunch out in the terrace. The atmosphere was nice, especially since we dined outside and that day it was all sun! The waiter was attentive and got our order in a timely matter. There was a bit of a wait for the food, we actually didn’t notice til we looked at the time because everyone was catching up. But once we got our order it was great! I ordered the Chicken Panini, which was delish! Can’t judge yet, but so far it was pleasant and would go back again!

Dont be discouraged by the over 65’s sitting in the sun room. We love to sit in the back, they have these beautiful dark wood booths. The food is rustic, old world europe, like you’d expect a beer wench to serve you, but with modern adaptations. Coffee braised short ribs, pot pie, trout. That sort of thing. The perfect meal in the fall and winter, warms your soul.

Was driving through Rhinebeck and we were hungry. The Beekman Inn was so good looking, the tables and flowers outside drew us closer and we checked out the menu. It appealed to us and we were quickly seated. My friend and I shared a Beet and Arugula Salad and the BLT with fries. Both were absolutely delicious, a perfect combination of flavour and perfect sized portions. We ordered the BLT with chicken and as good as it was it would have been just as good without because the bacon was thick sliced, back bacon. The grilled brioche was so buttery delish too. The service was excellent. I will definitely go back.

Mediocre food in a dark setting; while historic we avoid this place. The menu just isn’t exciting or food very good. There are so many other better places

wow! what a beautiful historic place. Unfortunately the hotel staff is unprofessional and under trained. Had a meal that was disappointing, steak was too chewy to eat. salad was out of a bag. the icing on the cake was the men at the front desk who when my husband joked with them saying«hey, where is the valet?» Since we has to carry our luggage 2 floors up. As we were leaving for a walk I could here the men laughing at my husband for coloring his hair and went on and on until we walked down the steps. I told restaurant manager and all I got was«I’m sorry». they laughed at us «We have not been away for an evening overnight for quite a while and they wrecked it for us They need more training!

Awful service! I’ve always said that great service can make up for bad food and after my experience at the Beekman Arms I can say that bad service can ruin good food. Waited for over an hour to receive our entrees, which were above average, but the lack of attention to our table after the entrees were delivered took away from the flavor of the food. Overall with all of the other places to eat in Rhinebeck, I would only consider the Beekman as a last resort.

Spent the night in Rhinebeck, NY and read about this place. Knowing the Beekman Arms has a long history, I felt it would be a great date night dinner. I made a reservation, just to be safe, but they have plenty of seating. By plenty, I mean they actually asked me which room I would like to eat in when I showed up. I didn’t understand, and the host showed us around to each dinner room to let us pick where we would like ti eat. We chose the room with the bar just because it wasn’t overly quiet so that we could talk without people listening! Monday and Tuesday nights they have a lower cost menu with specials. For about $ 19 you get a Salad/Soup and a nice dinner. Both of use enjoyed this menu, ordered an appetizer and dessert. I went with the surf and turf plate. Two pieces of steak, two stuffer shrimp, mashed potatoes and carrots. Very very very good, but the steak portion was very small! My date went with the ravioli and said they were great. Hers for some reason didn’t come with a side, even though it was on the same menu as mine. We did(as always!) order the calamari. Unfortunately our waiter forgot to put it in, so we got it after our meals. It was super crispy, small portion with a creamy white sauce. I prefer a red sauce however. But it was crispy so I enjoyed it. For dessert we went with a flour less chocolate cake and carrot cake. Turned out they were out of the carrot cake, so the apple crisp it was. Overall the food was very good. The service was bad. New waiter maybe? If I’m back in the area I would definitely go back for another dinner.

Went for brunch. The menu was more limited than my last visit several month ago. The service was good but the food was not prepared properly. We ordered bacon to be cooked«crisp», but it was served fatty and flabby. They did bring another order which was better. The French toast was not well soaked, so it was dry in the center. It is a shame, but I won’t be back.

Sat in the same cozy space as we did last year. Small menu, but list of tasty options and many vegetarian, vegan or gluten free selections. I had a glass of Beaujolais which was delicious, but could have used a bit of chilling. Hubs had a Fumé Blanc which he liked. Both were generous pours and around $ 10. We shared a butternut squash soup, which was thick and flavorful. I enjoyed a rib eye sandwich with peach BBQ sauce which was sweet and not too thick or spicy. Sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked. It was on a boring white sub roll — could have been a bit more interesting. Hubs had trout over lentils which was very good, but the portion of fish was pretty tiny. Overall a good meal with a nice ambiance.

So we ventured back to Beekman Arms after visiting the fair. We were seated right away in the solarium. Very pretty and clean. The service was prompt and efficient. We had the onion soup awesome, and the shrimp cocktail very good. The tavern salad was crisp and dressing delicious. For the main prime rib and Shell Steak cooked properly. Very pleased with our evening, job well done!

I love this Tavern and always feel incredibly welcomed by their wonderful staff. I always stop in for dinner, always without a reservation, when in the area to visit my husband’s alma mater, Bard College. There’s always a table, considering how large this restaurant is, and we’re always seated without issue even when dressed on the casual side. Some historic taverns can be a bit stuffy and pretentious, this isn’t one of them! My most recent visit a few weeks ago included a few friends who loved learning the history of Beekman Arms and enjoyed perusing the antiques displayed throughout the tavern. We enjoyed our meal a great deal, ordering everything from their succulent prime rib to the stuffed shrimp. Everything was excellent and cooked perfectly. The portions are generous but save room for dessert, which is always wonderful. We were never rushed and service was impeccable. Considering the quality of the food, service and portion size, I find the prices to be very affordable — another reason we always come here. It’s a great value for what you’re getting. I’m sure I’ll be back and look forward to it, especially considering its a classic tavern with a ton of history!

This place is the grande dame of Rhinebeck. The menu is pretty much all the standards. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The service is always good and cordial. My favorite spot is in the tavern. Go on a Monday when Tracey is behind the bar. Wow what a great martini! Have two and plan on doing nothing the rest of the afternoon.

This place is very classy! What you’d expect for«the oldest inn in America», the menu goes for classic over avant garde. Great décor. The solarium dining room out front is beautiful in warm, sunny weather. And the colonial taproom is a great-looking bar. Had the trout with lentil salad and a cup of turkey-and-rice soup. Both were very good.

This place has plenty of charm with original wooden interiors and really low ceilings. You feel like you’re dining in the late 1800s. I came with my aunts, cousin and mom for brunch. We all ordered cocktails. My bloody Mary was just OK, I probably should have stuck to the drinks menu. A number of us got the butternut squash soup which was good though not my favorite. For my entrée I had the soft shell crab BLT and I am so glad I did. It was amazing! Everyone enjoyed their selections(veggie quiche, eggs Benedict, quiche with seafood hollandaise) but I know I picked the best! Also we ordered 3 different crème brulees for desert(cappuccino, coconut and classic) and we almost licked those plates! I give this spot 4 stars because it’s worth a trip but the food wasn’t quite 5 star material.
