Monro Muffler Brake & Service

Well came to there shop because i did some front end work on my car and needed a front end elinement and they said it would need front tires so i got there at 9am and was there till 7pm and when i got my car the steering wheel was not straight pull to left they said that was the best they could do and after being there the whole day i was just ready to go home than two day later my ball joint snapped now 11,000 miles later and steal belts are coming threw tires after spending 400 $ there so call them to fix the tires and they said that they were not going to give me tire and the warranty we would have to call the co that makes the tires just a place not to go never ever return there.

I was on my way to a concert in Albany with one headlight out. I decided to pull in to Monro Muffler just to see if they could change it quickly. The time was 6:35 and they closed at 7:00 but Gary the asst manager happily made sure he had the bulb in stock and even changed it himself. The car was in and out in 5 minutes. We passed about a dozen cops that night so I’m sure he saved me at least one ticket. Thanks Gary!

The staff at this shop is great and it is probably their best asset. I have been there for multiple issues from new tires to maintenance and they have always been quite cordial. They seem knowledgable and always seem to be eager to answer questions and take the time to explain issues to non-​savvy customers.

Absolutely terrible customer service. We called in to see how late they are open, they said until 5:00. We then drove 30 mins to get there arriving at 4:00 just to have them tell us they won’t do it because they want to go home

Nice folks, but…
I went in with a hole in my resonator. They told me that my choices were to replace the entire exhaust system including the converter for $ 900 or to replace the resonator with a straight pipe for «only» $ 185. This seemed like quite a lot for a piece of pipe and a little welding, so I left again. Too bad, I always liked other Monro locations’ reasonable prices in the past.

Been here several times for exhaust and brake work. They do good work and you can’t beat the warrantee.

Small muffler and brake shop packs a big punch. I like this place. A few years ago when my brakes were giving some problems, I took my car to them. They told me I needed a few things. They installed the brakes. After paying, I was able to drive off. Haven’t had problems with the installed parts since.
I have had a few other problems in the brake system pop-​up too, but upon closer examination, they told me that I should drive my car to the nearest dealership for service and didn’t charge me anything for the time they spent in this repair.
I’ve also had them replace wiper blades. The charge was minimal. I brought my own blades and they changed them onsite. They had no real backlog of people in their front office waiting for service that day.
I’ve only found a problem with their bathroom. It’s kinda’ small and cramped, and, although it appears to be behind the counter, when you realize how this place is setup, its actually well positioned in a closet-​sized room off the one edge of the building INSIDE.
Employees are well versed on problems, and even the owner becomes an employee if needs arise. The owner seems to be almost always be at his business’ location.

I thought I had to have my break pads replaced because there was some noise when breaking. Called Ruges up the road who wanted $ 189 and Monro wanted $ 129 with a life-​time warranty. Also had to have some studs replaced in the wheel that had broken off when changing to snow tires.
Brought in the car, asked for an oil change while they were at it. They came back and said that there was still a decent amount of pad left (showed me exactly how much was left) and so I didn’t have get the break job after all.
It is hard to find honest mechanics these days. They have my attention I will certainly be back to get may maintenance done with them in the future.
