I would not give this place even one star. Was told by friend great place and cooks been there for over twenty year! Well cook should retire. We order Fired Clams and chips and fried oysters and chips. They were both BURNED they were inedible. Onion rings were good nd two pieces of fish were ok. We will never go here again! Soooo disappointing. We had taken home so to late to return!!! Carolynn and Dale

Should have listened to Theresa A’s review I suspect this place is out of business. No H Salt would normally be closed on a Friday in Lent

The place was crashed into by a car. Not closed down. They’re are closed for remodeling. Not sure when it’ll open, doesn’t say on the front. Just call before, if they don’t answer, they probably haven’t re-opened.

We drove over 30 minutes to order food(they were not answering their phone). This location was CLOSED for good. Boarded up. Really wish their corporate website would have removed them from their list and disconnected their ph #. Disappointed.

This place has been our go-to Fish & Chips spot for years now. The service is great, the food is excellent. What more could you ask for?

Customer service is not what it use to be. I order the Dinner which come with 4 pieces of fish. Instead of fries I order zucchini they normal give you several pieces this time this time they got cheap and gave me one piece of zucchini. Not worth the money.

Not many H Salt Fish and Chips around… So, we checked this one out and I have no idea where all these bad reviews come from. The lady at the counter was nice and yes, it did take a while for us to get our food. But perfection takes some time and this isn’t fast food. So slow your roll homies. Got the basics fish and chips and some shrimp and the everything was on point. The place could use a better air conditioner, but I’m here for the food and not the air, right!!! The fish was nice and crispy and the shrimp was pretty dang good too. The chips, ehhhhh, I’ve had chips that were better. But the vinegar was malty and nice and the tartar sauce also pretty good. The place is tucked away in a little shopping center, right next to to a sushi spot and a tofu house. So you might miss it, if you are driving fast. The only other H Salt Fish and Chips I know of is in Hollywood. So, whenever I feel the need for some fish and chips, I know where to go. Don’t listen to these other reviews, give it a shot and you wont be disappointed.

Just experienced the worst customer service in my life walked in my turn to order after waiting 10 minutes. Asian guy behind the counter servers the people before us but tells me and my family we can’t eat there cause he’s closed we will never eat here again as long as that guy is working there also ps. Every time he touched the food he never washed his hands but he did use his hands to wipe the sweat off his head then grabbed another fish

Just updating my review for this place since its be a long time since I last wrote about this place. Still a great restaurant with a super friendly staff. Their fish is still delicious but for some reason I don’t remember it being so heavily soaked in oil. I know its fried fish so its supposed to be oily but on this order it felt like the oil soaked in like a sponge and carried more than usual. Still love the restaurant though so i’ll keep going back on cheat days and hangover days.

Good fish and chips! Good clam and chips! Good portions! Great prices! If you order the clams, just make sure to order the double order for a couple bucks more. The place was extremely clean and the food was very fresh!

Came here for my lunch break one day as i wanted something other than a burger this time around. Parking is smallish but still found a spot. Interior has sort of a fisherman theme going on, other than that nothing spectacular. But hey, it’s a fish as chips joint, so why not? Thinking i was going to get small pieces, i ordered the Regular Dinner, which is 3 pieces of fish with fries. I got a Combo 1 to go because i wanted to try the shrimp for latet. Anyway, fish portions are more than reasonable. Totally didnt expect that, so i got full sooner than i anticipated. Flavor was great. Batter was crispy, fish was fully cooked and tender. Burned my tongue on the first bite, silly me. I went crazy with the tartar sauce bottle they give to you, along with two other sauces. Lady that took my order seemed friendly. Being my first time there she was happy to explain o me some of the dishes they offer. Im sure ill be back, as i want to try the clams. I was impressed by the fish and shrimp.

This place is so good! They make everything fresh, I ordered the captains special, the fish and chips are my favorite. It does take a while about 10 minutes(which is a long time if your hungry) but it’s worth the wait! If you want something good & fresh look no further! So good!

I am big on Fish n Chips and my family and I have been loyal customers to this small establishment for years! It is a franchise and I normally call my orders by phone and it will be ready within 15 minutes. The portions come with chips=fries and a good amount is given. The fish is good and the batter is light. The owners are very nice and I believe serves the customers. This place is a favorite of ours during the Lenten season.

The place looks the same since the 70s. I don’t think they have changed or cleaned anything. If you are feeling nostalgic try it out. The food is greasy and almost all the fried items taste the same. I wouldn’t waste money here.

It’s a tiny spot located on Saticoy and Lindley(nearby the gas station). It can be hard to find but it’s in the same area where tofu house is. The place can only hold a few people so just order to go if you have a big group. The area is kinda dead so I never had to wait in line the times I visited. Batter can be greasy sometimes, but still maintained its crunchiness after surviving the 10 min drive home(until I refrigerated it). The lady at the counter is really nice. She always hooks it up with the tar tar sauce! Definitely will drop by again.

Dingy, greasy but tasty. Most of the condiments are not refrigerated. I wouldn’t eat in the location but for the record I have… Lines can be long, popular place. But proceed with some level of caution. I mean we only went because it was lent and we had to eat fish and we didn’t plan our friday meal. Definitely worked in a pinch but not a goto place for us…

The roof of my mouth is still burnt from eating fish n chips here days ago. The fish & chips will take a minute to come out, they take there time here and prepare each meal as they’re ordered. The fish comes out piping hot and is obviously tasty as I couldn’t pace myself with each bite. The batter is light and crispy and the fish is flakey good. The chips are also good but I could definitely do without and go all fish. No pints of brew or fountain drinks, just canned and bottled sodas, tea & water. H Salt Fish n chips is in the most random area in the valley, off Saticoy & Lindley, close to Little Pleasures ;-)

H Salt Fish and Chips is a franchise, and yes there may be one near you. Most seem aged, lost in time a bit and this Reseda location fits that billing and isn’t gonna win any beauty pageants, that is for sure. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall taste and quality(albeit zero frills) fish and chips. It’s a walk up counter style with 3 or 4 small tables, similar layout to a Baskin Robbins. Large signs, easy ordering and very reasonably priced. It did take a while for the order to be filled. Upon arrival the food was served on a woefully thin cheapo paper plate but there in speaks testament to their product. That wafer thin paper plate remained almost completely dry, no oil slick from the fish or the fries. Wow, they were light and airy, nice crunch without being batter bombs. The fish is frozen as are the fries but they both do well with that hot oil bath. So is this the best fish and chips ever? Nope, but it is definitely a place to get your fish and chips fix when that urge arises and it satisfies accordingly. Definitely a solid 3.5 stars and worthy of a return.
