The food is delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the service is fantastic. 5 Hermanos = 5×10…000 stars

Awesome neighborhood restaurant, always friendly and prompt service. Your immediately greeted and sat down with some chips, salsa and guacamole. This a large portion restaurant so come hungry. Margarita’s are made just right and they have beers on tap as well. I recommend the shrimp enough for dinner and to take come home with flour tortillas. For dessert try the fried ice cream. Perfect to share.

Great selection of Mexican food! The staff are super friendly and attentive. Now I don’t have to go to Torrerro’s when I’m craving Mexican food. I had the arroz con pollo(chicken with rice) and it was very flavorful and servings were plentiful.

Took my family out for lunch on my day off. The restaurant was not busy and we greeted and seated quickly. The waiter and staff were very friendly and responded well to any questions that we had. The food was above average. It was served hot and my wife’s fajitas were sizzling(a great sign). The chips and sales were very good and my son really enjoyed the fajitas. We decided to order the bowl of queso for our chips. I was Not impressed with the queso. It tasted like cheese wiz with a funky aftertaste. My wife, who has been a sous chef at several restaurants in the past, improved the taste by adding several side items from her fajitas. It wasn’t great, but it became edible. Cleanliness was average to below average. We were seated by the window and there was junk shoved in between our booth and the window. After the meal, I walked past the kitchen and I wasn’t impressed. I didn’t find it disgusting, but for a slow afternoon, you would expect it to be pretty clean. Overall, a nice place to eat. Its not our favorite Mexican restaurant, but it definitely wasn’t the worst either.

Big plates, cheery and casual, family-friendly, excellent service — and did I say big plates? I had a combo plate of one enchilada, one taco, and one tamal, served with rice and beans. The plate was nice and hot when it came to our table. I was so full from trying to eat everything, but I enjoyed stuffing my face with all the delicious food. I’m a huge enchilada fan, and I’m pretty easy to please in that department, in all honesty. I had steak in my enchilada here, and it was good, although not any more special than many enchiladas I’ve tried. I thought the meat-to-cheese ratio was fair, and it had a good flavor. No complaints. My tamal was a little bit bland and could do with a tad more flavor, but the chicken in my taco was really dry, unfortunately. My fiancé loved his tacos al carbon, which was three soft tacos, also served with rice and beans. He cleaned his plate up in an instant. I don’t remember our server’s name, but he was really cool. There was a big party in front of us, but we told him we were really hungry and would appreciate it if he could put our order in before them so that we didn’t have to wait too long for food. He chuckled because he understood our urgency, and he made sure we got in there before the big party. Thank you, sir! Chips and salsa are complimentary, which is always a plus! As in many places in Renton, there is an abundance of free parking in the lot.

Love this place! If you’re looking for a great Mexican restaurant in the Renton area, I highly recommend! Staff is amazing– super patient, personable, and friendly. There’s a dish called pollo chipotle, and being a mushroom lover myself they were kind enough to substitute the chicken for mushrooms for me! The drinks as well are amazing! You have to try the Val’s margarita and the piña colada! The churros and flan as well are SOGOOOD!!!

Really disappointed with the flavorless and somewhat overpriced selection. The staff was very friendly. However, the food experience was not even close to what is expected when you visit a Mexican restaurant in terms of flavor.

Five Hermanos offers a decent, if unspectacular, Ameri-Mex experience. Housed in what I am almost positive is a former Taco Time location next door to a Little Caesar’s in a small strip mall in the Renton highlands, the unassuming digs bely the crowd we found on a recent weeknight visit. Still, despite the rush we were quickly seated and the hardworking staff had drinks on the table within three minutes of our entering the restaurant. The menu is a fairly standard collection of enchiladas, burritos, salads, and plates. As you would expect, most items come with sides of rice and beans and lots of that ubiquitous«Mexican» cheese blend. No great points for authenticity here, but if you come through the door looking for a typical American/Mexican food experience, no doubt your favorite will be available. My normal go-to for evaluating this kind of place is an order of Carne Asada. I do this because I happen to love it, and also because it’s pretty hard to hide crummy kitchen work on such a simple dish. In the event, I was not very hungry on this particular evening, so based on a staff recommendation, I ordered what our server described as a «chilled seafood soup.» My wife, also clearly feeling the«let’s do something different» vibe, ordered Mexican Pizza. As is typical at this kind of place, we munched on chips and salsa while we waited, and the food was delivered quickly. The Mexican Pizza ended up being a surprise hit, with well seasoned ground beef and a pleasing abundance of ooey gooey elements including guacamole, sour cream, beans, and an embarrassing quantity of cheese. Definitely not health food, but calories well spent in our combined opinion. My «Seafood Soup» dish was slightly more suspect. Delivered lukewarm(imagine the temperature of a large bowl of urine and you’ve about got it), and crowned with several suspiciously fishy smelling prawns, it was nonetheless an edible, if uninspired, meal. I do have to compliment the kitchen on the preparation of the scallops in the soup – they were tender and buttery – and the presentation was fun. I did eat with some degree of circumspection, however, given that the temperature and contents gave me plenty of opportunity to imagine the potential for food-borne illness. In the end, I didn’t get sick, and while I won’t order that specific dish again, we will be back to try some of the more conventional picks, as this place clearly has a following, and 1 for 2 isn’t too bad when taking a shot in the dark on the menu.

Five Hermanos is an excellent Mexican restaurant. The staff are extremely personable, I’ve never had a bad meal from them. We have even done our company Xmas dinner there and they catered it perfectly. Valentin and his crew do an excellent job and I would recommend this place to anyone. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do, whoever tries this place. Thanks guys!

Just passing through and stopped for a quick lunch. Definitely not quick, and only three other customers there at the time. While the service was very slow,(no really, very slow) they were incredibly friendly and the food was good too. Perhaps a margarita while waiting would have helped… Not docking them a star for the pace because they’re on the Hot and New list so they’ll get faster with more experience.

I have no complaints with the food, have been here a couple of times since the change to Hermanos. The last trip, friend and I ordered nachos to share and a Margarita each. We would have liked to have another drink but no one ever came back to see how we were doing or if we wanted anything else. We got the attention of the bus person, who went to get our waiter. When the waiter came he served or bill, so we paid it and went to Doofers for a beverage to finish our visit.

Their menu was huge, i couldn’t decide what to order. But i ended up getting the Asada steak burrito, and i loved it! My friend got the espresso burrito and she didn’t like it at all, probably because it was with ground beef. The carne asada was really good too, everything was really flavorful! i don’t eat mexican food very often, and i’m really picky about it, but i thought this place was really good, the food came out quick too!

We enjoyed a nice birthday party here with a group of friends last Saturday night. I took the advice of fellow Unilocal Elites and ordered the Pollo Asada and wasn’t disappointed. It’s not the best Mexican food I’ve had in the area but it was good. They do have some good beer choices on tap and the service was excellent. Everyone that ordered a margarita was happy too. The servers were friendly and helpful and allowed us to bring the birthday girl’s desert with us to enjoy. I was very impressed with that. We had a great experience overall and wouldn’t hesitate to dine here again.

I can’t even tell you how good the food is here. I got a taco salad with shredded beef. My dining partner got eggs con chorizo. We were both delighted with the food and the fast, friendly service. Great selection of Mexican food. Seriously, good Mexican food.

As a lover of authentic Mexican food, I must say this is my new go to spot! Great service, delicious food & a convenient location! The restaurant is located on the corner of a small strip mall. It’s perfect for bringing the family, or even dining alone! It has a comfortable«family style» feeling to it. I ordered the carne asada, which came with guacamole, coleslaw, pico de gallo, rice & beans, and a choice of flour or corn tortillas. I asked for the carne asada cooked well-done and it was grilled to absolute perfection! Not only was it tender, but it had a delicious flavor. My mom ordered the tacos al carbon, which are corn tortillas filled with a choice of carne asada or pollo asada. She ordered it with the carne asada filling and loved it! Her meal also came with the same sides as I received. Not only is the food delicious, but the portions are generous as well! We both happily left with some leftovers for tomorrows lunch.
