I was gonna be meeting some friend here after work for some drinks. I like this place, it’s a combo wine store and restaurant where you can buy your wine off the shelf retail and then take it to the table and drink it no corkage fee! This is a pretty big place as I browse the wine collection while waiting for friends to show up. The vibe here seems more females meeting other females for drinks rather than a guy meetup place. Maybe it’s the wine instead of beer thing. Whatever, the place is quite friendly and no pressure to order more stuff. The bar is a full bar, so it’s not just beer and wine. I can’t say too much on the food here as we just had wine and didn’t do any food. I can’t say whether the prices are any good of how they compare, since I don’t buy wine retail too often to know what sells for what, but I’d guess it’s not a super bargain like Total Wines, but someones gotta pay for the overhead of the restaurant and no corkage of wines purchased at the store. Noce place, I’ll return!

Last night I had the Saturday night special, which was Asian sea bass with Chimichurri sauce atop a bed of kale and white beans. The all-you-can-eat price of $ 16.95 was a bargain for the good quality of food. After tasting a few wines to go with dinner, I settled on a dry, bouquet of Albariño. The wine went perfectly with the sea bass. I’ve come here many times and have always liked the quality of food/price ratio. The Thursday night prime rib dinner specials are good and start at a reasonable $ 17.95 for a full meal with salad and bread. For $ 23.95, you can get a bigger cut of meat. I love the wine selection. Good prices and there’s barely any mark-up to drink a bottle at the restaurant or the outside seating areas.

Great quiet lunch place. Love the ahi Napoleon appetizer and the carrot cake. Drinks are okay. Nice atmosphere.

The restaurant was great about adjusting our reservation time and group size. We had a large group of 12 and everyone enjoyed their food. The only reason not to give it 5 stars was the lack of drink refills.

Just finished lunch with a client. The special lunch was a seared ahi salad which was delicious. Perfect for a hot day. What I liked most was the service. Just enough and my iced tea was kept full. The space is larger than I remembered it to be. I could keep lunch to an hour which was important.

We ended up here for lunch after realizing how busy Stone House was across the street and decided to skip the wait. We ended up a bit disappointed. We were looking for a nice, leisurely restaurant experience since we were celebrating my hubby’s birthday and ended up with the bill to match but not the experience. Our waitress was great, no problem there, but with how quickly the food came out, it seemed like we were being rushed through our meal when the place was already half empty. The food was good but nothing really stand out. I would say average café fare, but pricey for the quality, especially if you’re feeding a family of 4. Not many reasonable options for kids, and the Mac and Cheese is too small to split. There’s no reason not to have a few kid friendly items on the lunch menu at least. The atmosphere isn’t anything special and definitely didn’t give the feeling that kids weren’t a good fit there. Maybe they have a different clientele for their dinner service that would make kids an unwelcome addition, which would be totally understandable given their wine bar reputation. It’s probably a good lunch choice during the week with their quick turn around, but don’t suggest it if you like a place with a good, cozy atmosphere where you don’t feel rushed.

We stopped in for a quick glass of wine and a little munchie, but ended up staying for a while. We had the antipasti plate and the cheese plate and enjoyed some wine. We had a couple glasses of some awesome Sauvignon Blancs with our food. All the components of both the antipasti and the cheese plate were fresh, chilled and tasty. I liked all the cheeses especially the tintern infused soft cheddar and the aged sharp white cheddar, the apples were fresh and crispy and a nice complement to the cheese. The crostini was really good. I love the crunchy crust and softer middle of the bread. The service was good and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere is that of a café and a wine shop. Its clean and attractively decorated. Next time I’m in Reno, I’m going to stop in for a little vino and a munchie.

This place used to be a hoping place and had good crowds. Now their reputation of being a hook up bar for middle aged women has came back to bite them in the ass. The bartender here has a reputation of going after married women. Lots of other married people here too looking for affairs. If you are looking for good food and drink only I suggest you try their location on the south side of town.

had a dinner-for-4 gift certificate I won at a charity auction. When I arrived at the restaurant, I found that I couldn’t use it unless I called at least 24 hours in advance. It was a pre-made pasta dish for 4; I wan’t allowed to choose off the menu. what a ridiculous bunch of crap. I won’t ever go back. I’ll choose to patronize businesses that care about customer service.

So I went to an office function at this place last weekend Saturday. Our marketing manager told them we’d have 70 – 100 people. They said no problem and we could spill from function room into main bar. Little did we know the function room was small, the bar area was packed as the place was open and busy that night. 100 people in a room twice the size of a hotel room is not fun. I don’t think the Establishment was honest or else they were just chasing the dollars. I’m sure fire regulations were violated that night. Some people left a fire door open to circulate, bearing in mind we’re in the middle of winter. Half the guests left within an hour. The bar staff doled drinks out to anyone, probably billing drinks from people who weren’t guests to our tab. In reality they should have that room for 40 people tops or close the bar down for functions of 100 people. DONOTUSETHISPLACEFORFUNCTIONS.

Had dinner here last night for my birthday. I ordered the seafood bisque and the filet. First, they couldn’t find my reservation so they sat me at the noisiest at table next to the bar. The wine was good. the seafood bisque was lovely. The filet was meh. It wasn’t very hot like it had been sitting. It was tender only in the middle. The brandy peppercorn sauce was cold and way too sweet. The mushroom risotto was excellent but would have been better hot. The vegetables were AWFUL. Sautéed spinach and carrots were fine. but the little pearl onions were quite a surprise. I love roasted or sautéed pearl onions– unfortunately when I bit into it — it was a PICKLEDCOCKTAILONION. Wth. Big fail. Then our bill came without an offer of dessert. Disappointing evening to say the least.

What a great place! On top of having an incredible selection of wines by the glass, they had great service full of friendly people and amazing food! Another huge bonus? The food came out so quickly, barely had to wait which my hungry stomach loved! I went with the bowl of chili and the flavor was unique and good. They put their tri tip steak in the chili which was interesting! Best chili I’ve had in a really long time, it was perfect for a chilly day(see what I did there?! Ha ha). My boyfriend got the white cheddar cheese Mac and cheese and he loved it! I have to admit I did too; you could really taste the white cheddar which was awesome! They also have a huge bottled wine selection, and I mean seriously huge! This is definitely a cute little place to grab a quick lunch!

After a 3 month hiatus, I came back to Napa Sonoma to have dinner with the BF and an old friend that was in town. It was Thursday night and apparently that also meant Prime Rib night. There was also live music and overall a packed and busy night for this place. The BF was there first and he said he was seated right away despite of the busy night. He texted me saying«I got here just in time.» Since we haven’t seen our friend for a little while, we barely looked at the menu. We caught up first before we ended up ordering our food and the server was patient enough to let us do this. I really wanted the Chipotle Clams so I asked the server how big the dish is. She said that it’s not too filling so I decided to also order a cup of chili. The chili came out first, it’s one of the favorites as listed on the menu but I was disappointed when I took my first bite. Temperature was just right, yet I couldn’t really figure out what was in the chili. There were minimal beans, and it was a very sweet. I was waiting for a little bit of spice. The Chipotle Clams was also a disappointment. Soup base was way too salty. I had to grab the lemon from the BFs plate to add a little acidity to the clams. Portion was small just as what the server said so that was not a surprise. I know a lot of people like this place because of their wine selection, but I am not a wine drinker at all so I couldn’t tell you much about their selections. I wanted to update my review because a 1 star review is not Napa Sonoma. The last review was based on one bad night. After giving Napa Sonoma another try, I am giving them 3 stars because the food is hit or miss. There are certainly some good items on the menu and some that is not worth the trouble. Service is also a hit or miss depending on the day. Location and ambience though is great. It has a really quant feel to me and surroundings are clean and organized considering that there is a mini grocery store in the front.

Had a family event in their lovely private room. Food was excellent — exceeded my expectations and buffet style presentation was beautiful with generous portions! Service was great, especially from the manager, Sarah. Very accommodating and flexible to our needs. Sarah and Simon both patient in the planning process prior to our event and particularly helpful in planning the menu and selecting the wines. Very happy and would definitely go back for a small event or just a glass of wine! Thank you Napa Sonoma!

Been here before. Good continues to be very good although I haven’t tried dinner yet. Great lunch place. They have a private area for parties

Dinner was absolutely wonderful here last night! Everything was spot on, the service, the food and the ambiance. The wife had a delicious clam pasta, with a side of clam chowder that she raved about. I opted for a French dip sandwich and fries. Everything was fresh and tasted great, the French dip is one of the best in town. If you are ever in doubt when trying to decide on a soup or salad go with the soup, they always have good soup which seems to change daily. They have an enormous selection of wine and a decent selection of beer. Their patio is currently under construction, it looks like they are adding a covered awning for shade along with making it larger. There are already glass garage doors in place to open up the bar seating area to the patio. A great setup in my opinion. Looking forward to many more meals here and so glad they have one on this side of town!

We came across this by accident really. We were hungry, saw their lunch sign, and went in. Unfortunately we couldn’t get any wine, as we had errands to run and children to shuttle about, but the wine selection looked incredible. We both ordered paninis. They were good except could have spent more time on the press– my husband’s cheese wasn’t even melted. Despite that, the flavor was really nice and I liked the atmosphere a lot. I would love to come back for a date night and have a couple glasses of wine!

Napa Sonoma, where have you been all my life? While I love a beer on a nice night, sometimes I want to sip a glass of wine and feel classy. An unlike some of the places around Reno, I’d prefer that glass of wine not cost $ 10. If this sounds like you – please come here. Tonight they had a buy-one-get-one special on house wines, cocktails and beers. Two glasses of house white for a mere $ 5.75. Now that I can get behind. Doesn’t hurt that another customer was leaving and bequeathed us a third of their bottle. People in Reno are nice. While we had dinner plans with the fam-bam, we opted for the fondue snack(around $ 14), which was absolutely delightful. Nice flavor, super hot and fresh, and that brown bread must have fallen from heaven itself. Just a *drop* more cheese would have been nice to finish all the dippings, but it probably doesn’t help that we were letting the bread swim in the cheese prior to eating it. The staff was super friendly and helpful, though our waitress dropped our check off without asking if we were interested in another round. Meh. Luckily I’m buying a house less than a mile away. Not that I’ll be back anytime soon. Or tomorrow.

This place is fabulous for lunch. Great prices and great food. I went with a group of girls on our lunch break. I ordered the shrimp and mango salad! It was to die for. The shrimp was seasoned with Cajun spices. The salad also had avocado and feta cheese. It was complimented with a nice oil and vinegar based dressing. Most of the other girls got wraps. You get the choice of soup, chips, or fruit. Plus, the have specials that change daily. I recommend coming for lunch or one of their weekly wine tastings.
