I meet here regularly with friends and we always feel welcome… terrific customer service and great coffee!

WOW– these owners are reason enough to frequent. A friend and I stopped in for a glass of wine after a long day and discovered it was happy hour(15% off). Bonus! The wine selection was modest, but well rounded, and the service made the entire experience. We felt so incredibly welcome in this comfy, low-key environment. Very reasonably priced, as well. Definitely a must-try, locally-owned gem.

The only time I go to Swill is for the Wednesday morning 1 Millions Cup event. Otherwise I would have never found this place. It’s located in a strip mall off of Lakeside near the Bens Liquor off Moana. Swill is very nice. Complimentary WiFi with a drink purchase and the staff is very friendly. Check it out of you haven’t been before!

Best Chai Latte in town. That is an absolute fact. There are other absolute facts, too. Like, for instance, the baristas are wonderful. As are the new owners, Peter and Wayne. I got the opportunity to meet them this morning, and let me tell you, Peter is just hilarious. He has so many great stories to tell, and an upbeat attitude to tell them with. Ashley made my Chai this morning, and even Peter agrees that she is The Best Chai Maker In The History Of Ever. She’s also a complete sweetheart, and judging by her interactions with some of the other customers, she takes the time to remember the regulars and their drink preferences — which I have a huge appreciation for, having worked in the café business in the past. I recommend getting their Sweet Vanilla Chai. I have yet to try the spicy alternative, but Ashley swears by it. I personally love the warm, sweetness of the Vanilla, and I keep coming back for more. I usually get it with non-fat milk, but I was also told that it is delicious with almond milk as well. Honestly, I think it’d be good with any type of milk — their recipe is just that wonderful. I also enjoyed one of their pre-made breakfast burritos, that Ashley kindly warmed up on the Panini. I’m not 100% certain what the ingredients included, so I would ask before purchasing, just so you know what you’re eating. Either way, it was delicious and such a treat in my tummy on a cold, blustery day. Another note: my book club held one of our meetings here and it was the perfect location. A ton of room to accommodate big parties, and they are used to clubs meeting up here all the time. They even have a list of some of them upon walking in. Overall, this is probably my favorite little café in Reno. Actually, not probably — definitely. If you have the opportunity to stop by, do so. I’m confident that you won’t be disappointed.

I am happy to update my original review and report that I have visited Swill several times recently. The staff seems to have changed and the service is quite friendly and helpful. I love the comfortable nature of the place, the coffee is great, and now the staff is also good. Definitely support this local coffee shop! I love their involvement in the community. I’d give 5 stars but I do wish they had a little fresher and more extensive variety of eats and I wish the wine by the glass were easier to peruse. But those are minor things, the place is basically great.

Local coffee shop with coffee roasted right here in Reno. I like plain old cup of Joe so I don’t like to wait in a line of people ordering complicated coffee drinks. At swill I just drop 2 bucks in a jar, grab a cup and fill up. Coffee is strong and full flavor. Haven’t had their food but it looks good. I will update if I do. Seating outside, and large enough for meetings. Friendly staff.

Need a place to meet clients, prospects or friends that is central in Reno? There is no better better informal/business-casual setting in Reno. I have closed more deals at Swill than anywhere else. The coffee is the best in Reno, with baristas whose talents and expertise go way beyond working the cash register and counting tips – plus, their beans come from Hub Roasters – nuff said. Do you like iced coffee? Have a toddy – cold infused over time, it has no acidic or bitterness – no need for syrup, whipped cream or caramel to cover a bad taste. There are two rooms: one is a shop unto itself – bigger, cleaner, and better appointed than joints whose name rhymes with«Barstucks.» The other room – the Swill Lounge – is a spacious, with plenty of tables, big soft leather chairs and a couch. They will even let you rent the lounge for large group meetings or presentations – and they don’t charge extra for a presentation system. My networking group meets here every Thursday morning. I have a speed test app on my iPad; even with a room full of people, using laptops, tablets and smartphones, the guest wifi network has over 15megs down and 3.9 up to spare. Done with work? Ready to kick back? Drop by during happy hour for a beer or wine. It’s very low key and you can hear what the person next to you is saying. You owe it to yourself to check out Swill at least once before you die.

Was a cool place to get some work done and have some wine. Usually I say coffee but this time was different. Great atmosphere and outdoor seating was totally my style. Went around 1pm and the barista was prompt with service. Lots of space to have an office meeting or just kick back and cozy up in a corner. I had a small espresso and carrot cake and it treated me just right for a mid day snack.

Swill is a really cute spot. Great lounge in the back with couches, tables(small and medium), board games, and books. I like to come here and read or meet up with a friend. Oh and their quiches kill me, so good. Free wi-fi and delicious lattes, too.

As a first time customer I left super satisfied. It doesn’t have the chill lounge-y vibe like most coffee places but rather a rustic business vibe. I ordered one of their specialty iced teas and before we left the barista offered to top it off since I had drank some of it while waiting for another drink. That was a great gesture and I’d come back just based off of the customer service.

I spent a morning meeting at Swill last week — my first time there. I generally am not a fan of coffee shops. They’re typically loud and crowded, and drinks are overpriced and not that exciting(IMHO). As far as coffee shops go, my first impression of Swill is a good one! It’s quite large, with a whole separate adjoining room with tons of tables. This gives a nice amount of space between the milk steaming and other associated sounds of coffee making. The adjoining room was about half full of businessy looking people, enjoying their coffees and free Wi-Fi. My colleagues and I noticed some table tents with advertising directed at business meetings, which I think is a great niche for a nice large coffee shop — especially one that also serves wine!(What a concept!) I ordered a chai latte. I don’t remember the exact price, but it was on par with a chai latte at most coffee shops. I’m super picky about my chai lattes, and I loved it. A coworker ordered the same thing, and found it too sweet for her tastes, but it was exactly my style. I will definitely return to Swill, probably for work-related meetings.

It was super quiet when I came in, but livened up about 9. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They have a lot of space for community meetings and events which they rent out. The staff said it could hold up to 70 people! What a great idea for a wedding or bridal shower! Only four stars because my chai was a bit watery. I will be back to try a different drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

I held a Breakthrough business mixer at Swill with over 100 business professionals. They accommodated us with excellent service to arrange everything suitable to a great networking event. This is the second time I’ve held an event there. We will be back!

This place is full of hipsters, entrepreneurs and elitist. That being said, those people are all here for a reason. The beverages are excellent and the ambiance is great. That is if you can put up with the people who are here. I suppose they can’t be faulted for the clientele, but kind of right? I’d love to hear what some of the employees think. The prices are alright and you’ll feel better knowing you aren’t giving your money to Starbucks. However, Starbucks takes care of their employees so who knows.

If a friend of mine would’ve told me a couple of days ago to meet at Swill Coffee and Wine, I would ask: What? Where? OK, I am a bit coffee snob or just simply lazy to branch out from my usual Starbucks, Bibo’s or Hub bubble. But thanks to 1 Million Cups Reno Community Organization, today I broke my routine coffee run and stepped through the doors of Swill the first time. Their Coffee Mocha made me feel swell. So next time you are unsure of a place just because they are hidden in the corner of nowhere, don’t assume like I did that it has to be bad. In fact, you might get as surprised as I did. A very enjoyable, pleasant surprise. Swill has two main areas, the front room with a coffee bar and a large private room — often utilized for private and business events. They also have a table outside. Next time a friend mentions to meet at Swill Coffee, not only will I know where to go, but I will be happy to go there.

If you haven’t noticed the wife and I have been on a tear across Reno trying to find and try all the places who serve«snob» coffee and do so in ceramic cups. Swill had dodge the radar a few weekends but finally noticed it when I walked by on a stroll one afternoon before having brunch nearby. So we headed in here and took a look at the menu. It seemed a little more pricey than the other places, but we are on a mission so let’s spend that extra $.50! I can’t remember what my wife ordered but I ordered my usual Chai. I ordered the larger size and probably shouldn’t have. The mugs handle was too small for my finger to fit through. But the Chai was nicer than most. It was a little too sweet but the friendly barista suggested that the next time I reduce the number of pumps put into the drink. I will do that next time. Of course I did try my wife’s coffee and it was good. Nice and rich and bold. Not really a big fan of weak coffee so this is one of the better cups in town. The atmosphere is pretty cool, dark woods and more open than many coffee joints in town. Honestly the place would probably be just a three star experience but the barista was just so helpful and friendly they get 4 stars. Looking forward to stopping in again in the future. Parking seems plentiful enough, and if you are willing to walk a small distance through a «rough» part of town, Virginia Lake is just around the corner. Park here, have a nice walk around the park and come back for a refreshment at the end of your walk.

I’m a black coffee drinker, and I’ve never had a bad cup at Swill. I ordered a specialty drink once and was not terribly impressed, mainly because I felt the guy behind the counter wearing the newsie cap was less than friendly and understanding regarding my order. I guess my Mexican mocha, which I asked to be made with half coffee and half steamed milk to reduce the sweetness of the drink was more difficult to understand than a iced, half caff, ristretto, venti, 4-Pump, Sugar Free, Cinnamon, Dolce Soy Skinny Latte After that experience I felt like I needed a beer or a glass of wine, which they serve there too! But that aside, Swill is a great place to hang. They have the most workspace of any coffee shop in town, making them a great spot to meet with friends, a small organization, or even host an event. I regularly visit Swill for the 1 Million Cups presentations every Wednesday from 9−10am. Local startups and entrepreneurs present their ideas to the group for feedback on a wide range of business topics. The owner has done a lot to get involved with and support the local community, and she’s done a great job of creating a cozy and comfortable space, including displaying local artists on the walls. If you haven’t been before, you should certainly give them a shot(PUNINTENDED).
