Wonderful restaurant. Service was pretty good. Water glass was always full. We both ordered Caprese salad. Very tasty. It did need farm fresh tomatoes instead of store bought. But it was good. He ordered scallops and risotto, so good. I ordered filet mignon and mashed potatoes and veggies. Cooked perfectly and very good. Key line me pie was delicious. I can’t wait to eat here again.

Ate here twice, the escargot was definitely my favorite, as well as the lobster risotto. The lamb is probably the best I’ve ever had. The seared Ahi was good, not the best I’ve had. My wife got the barramundi, which was bland, along with rice, my wife did not like it at all, we would have sent it back but our server was rarely at our table. The hostess seemed irritated when we had one extra person in our party, which I could understand if it weren’t for the half empty restaurant. I will definitely being going back for the lamb and escargot. Hopefully service will be a little better.

Everything was outstanding, I had the crab legs my wife the halibut and both were large portions done perfectly. Even the attention to detail was perfect, my wife let them know she had a vinegar allergy and they made sure to check all their ingredients. We can’t wait to come back again.

Celebrated Christmas Day; one of the few non-casino offereings available. What a pleasant surprise. Cocktails are generous and full flavored. Wowza mushroom caps with escargot and goat cheese. My only minor gripe is I’m used to carpiccio as a raw dish and the dried beef prisuito does not cut it. Tender special prime rib and outstanding abalone! Mousse cake and adding 17 year Baylevine single malt to the capaccino for the perfect nightcap! Service top notch and our server even sampled our after dinner drink concoction with a satisfying nod and smile of approval. Will be back! Anna super server thanks for your TLC.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I called about a week in advanced to make a reservation, the woman I spoke with on the phone was very professional and polite, I also let her know it was my boyfriends birthday. I made a reservation for 7:30PM on Saturday night. We ended up getting there about 10 minutes early. When we walked in the hostess was nowhere to be found. Finally once she came back, I let her know I have a reservation at 7:30. She made a smart remark about how early we were. The restaurant wasn’t even THAT busy considering it was a Saturday night. We waited to be seated, once seated our waitress came and offered us water and read off the specials. My boyfriend ordered the Fettuccine Pescatore which he said was to die for, extremely flavorful and delicious; I ordered the Free Range Chicken«Pesto» and it was one of the best plates of pasta I’ve ever had. The food was absolutely incredible. Our waitress, Tootie was extremely rude and judgmental, we were one of 3 tables seated in her section. She acted like anything we’d ask for(more water, bread, etc) was the biggest inconvenience of her life. Never once did she come over and ask how the food was or how we were doing. She ended up pawning us off onto her busser, who barely spoke English. He ended up giving us better service than she did! I had noticed that the customers seated in the table next to us were also celebrating a birthday, Tootie brought them out thee typical«free birthday dessert» and wished them a happy birthday(which wasn’t even offered to us, surprise). Once we finished our dinner, we had planned on ordering dessert since it was my boyfriends birthday. We sat and waited, and waited, and waited for her to come over and even check on us. The busser ended up asking if we wanted to take a look at the dessert menu. We decided on the chocolate Cabernet glazed brownie, it was so fantastic. It was perfectly rich without being overwhelming. The ice cream was very good as well. Overall the food was beyond incredible and the restaurant is beautiful, however the service was some of the worst service I’ve experienced in quite sometime. If the service were as good as the food this would have gotten an easy 5 stars.

This is a must stop when in Reno! We meet or Son and his Family a few times a year in Reno because it is the half way point for us. When visiting we like to find a Great Beef Wellington but every time the restaurant has ran out or it’s a special only and not on the menu. This Last weekend we did a Google search for best Beef Wellington in Reno and the Bricks was one of those that came up we called all available and NO one was doing Beef Wellington, upon calling the Bricks the owner said that if we gave them a couple days notice that they would make them special for us! This was on a Friday night and we were to leave on Sunday, so we requested if they could make them for Saturday night allowing only one day notice, she asked the Chef and then told us that they would be glad to accommodate us! Upon arriving on Saturday night we found the restaurant to be beautiful and very clean and the perfect ambiance! They were prepared for us and let us know that the Chef had came in early for his shift just to make the Wellington’s. We had the Crab Cakes for appetizers and they were amazing! When the Wellingtons got to the table they were perfectly prepared, the pastry was a flaky buttery delight with the most amazing tender Filet and beautiful mushrooms hidden inside with just the right amount of mushroom gravy! They were served over Buttery Fluffy Mashed Potatoes, not the overly Garlic pretentious potatoes served at most restaurants. They were also served with a side of perfectly prepared Asparagus! Louis and Hanna were our servers and were very professional and attentive, Louis by the way has a great sense of humor and was a true joy to deal with! This is one of the Best meals any of us had ever had and I requested to go to the kitchen to speak with the Chef and the owner was more than glad to take me back where I let the Chef know that from that day on any Wellington I ever have in the future would be compared to his and I thought it would be a pretty high bar for anyone else to achieve! I just want to Thank the owners of the Bricks for being so accommodating and for making our family feel so welcome in their Beautiful Restaurant, this will be a guaranteed stop every time we are in Reno! From start to finish Bricks delivers an excellent meal. Given the choice I would pick this restaurant for any special night out. It’s a bit on the pricey side but you absolutely get what you pay for and there’s no reason to waste money at any other formal dining restaurant in town. Service is impeccable, drinks are always spot-on. Even the warm bread before dinner is amazing. On to the best part– the appetizers and entrees are all delicious. Favorites include the crab cakes and filet. The crab cake appetizer is literally to die for– tons of crab inside and golden-brown crispy goodness on the outside. The filet is melt-in-your-mouth best-steak-I’ve-ever-had status. Top it off with the chocolate mousse cake for dessert and you’ve had the best meal with the best service anywhere in Reno.

Best restaurant in Reno! I’m from NY&LA so I am choosy about where I go to eat. We have family up here so we have come here several times over the years. I’m not a fan of walking through a smoky casino to get to fine dining. Ruins the experience for me. So I really enjoy coming here. Service is great. Food is wonderful. Hard to choose what to get because there were so many things that looked great in the menu. We will be back again!

Random find while leaving the River District. This place is not in the River District. It was a very pleasant stop. Rene was our waitress and you can tell she loves working there. The food was awesome. I would come back if I was in the area. I had a kale salad which I was told the owner grows himself. It was very fresh and yummy. I had a pasta with chicken. It was such a great choice. On a side note, skip going to the River District and head on over here.

Elegance, Class and a Tantalizing adventure for your palette. My husband and I both have very demanding jobs, and when our Friday night rolls around, we like to share our time together over a nice glass of wine, a melt in your mouth dinner and good laughs. We have driven by Bricks numerous times, but never stopped. It was time to change that! On Saturday morning I called the restaurant to make reservations, and had to leave a message being they are only open for dinner. I was initially nervous because in the experiences I have had leaving a message, you never get your reservation. A few hours later, I received a phone call from a very lovely woman who was calling me back to confirm my reservation and assure me by booth I requested would be waiting for me. That was the first clue these people really had their stuff together. Upon arriving, we were sat immediately in a quiet booth tucked away. PERFECT! We had bread service delivered and requested water.(In efforts to help the drought, water is served upon request) Shortly after that, we were greeted by Tootie, who offered a kind, soft smile, and asked if we had any questions on the menu. We told her it was our first time here, so she helped with our selections. Tootie took control of the entire dining experience by asking questions, offering suggestions, reinforcing our decisions while still providing professional, timely service. She was like the Pilot of our aircraft navigating us to our final destination. 1st Course: Escargot Every«foodie» must try Escargot. It’s a delicacy that has made itself widely known. I was excited and ready to do this. My husband on the other hand, started to get a paleness to him, asking the server assistant his opinion on it, and then googling the popularity of it. We took the plunge and when the plate arrived, the mushroom caps were soaked in a butter bath, the escargot was stuffed and topped with baked, bubbling bleu cheese. We took the first bite, and the only way to describe it was«Chewy, Delicious, Garlic Butter Sex». Mushrooms, garlic, bleu cheese and butter alone was enough to convince me, but then to add the escargot, it brought the entire dish to a full circle. Main Course: Seafood Thermidor Typically when you order lobster or seafood, you get a few little scrawny pieces on your plate loaded with vegetables and rice. Not at Bricks. My plate arrived with a small side of seasonal vegetables, a succulent lobster tail split, prawns and diver scallops all baked inside the shell of the lobster tail and then topped with Mornay sauce. I substituted the brown rice for lobster risotto,(You can never have too much lobsta!) and shared an add on of king crab legs with my husband. I felt like the great white shark under the ocean eating every little sea creature I could snag my teeth on. The seafood was so tender, so perfect. I mean, truly perfect. The king crab legs were steamed and served already shelled so you didn’t have to cut your fingers up on those claws. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon, which was done medium-medium rare and served with a cabernet sauce dripping over the beef. His dish was served with tender vegetables and potatoes so smooth, there was not one lump. I honestly think those potatoes were smoother than a smoothie you would get a Jamba Juice. Again, another plate that did not disappoint. The filet was so tender, it was pure and not over seasoned so you can really get the flavors of the beef. The cabernet sauce was reduced perfectly, and the vegetables all vibrant colors which means they were blanched properly. Dessert Course: Chocolate Mousse & Crème Brule So as if we weren’t completely stuffed out of our minds like a can of busted crescent rolls, we continued on to the dessert menu and selected a Chocolate Mousse and Crème Brule. When both dishes arrived, both just screamed decadence. The custard of the Crème Brule was flawless and creamy, with the notorious crust of torched sugar. The chocolate mouse was, well really indescribably tasty. The layers of chocolate just melted in your mouth as soon as you ate it. It wasn’t too much, it was just enough. Overall, Bricks brings such a beautiful and classy dining experience to Reno. These days, people want the«Total dining experience» and that is what we got at Bricks. I can’t wait to go back!

Love this place, it is a throw back from ages gone by. Very fancy restaurant with exceptional wait staff. We went to Bricks for my wifes Birthday celebration, and boy did they make her feel special. More on that later. First off, Bricks is pricy, but you get what you pay for. Zoe was our waitress and Louis was constantly refilling water glasses and asking if we needed anything. Zoe shared with us they had buffalo as a special, so as a gentleman i raised my hand before anyone else and said i will take it. My wife ordered rack of lamb and my daughter a filet. I started out with a cup of 5 onion soup, so good. The Buffalo was small but extremely tender. I was a little hesitant thinking the cut of meat would have a wierd taste. No wierd taste, but probably the most tender and flavorful cut i have ever had. Now to the service, you know you are in a good restaurant when they treat you as family. I asked louis where he was from and he responded El Salvador. When he found out it was my wifes birthday he serenaded her in spanish singing her happy birthday. Totally made my wifes day and we all had fun. If you are looking for a classy fun restaurant, that is a throwback, try Bricks, you will like it.

This place never disappoints me! I don’t live in Reno anymore and I make it a point every time I’m in town to make sure I have dinner here. My favorite item that keeps me coming back time and time again is the King crab legs. Not only is it perfectly cooked crab. It’s De-shelled so all the work one Hates when having crab is done for you and all you have to do is enjoy the beautiful meat on the plate ready for you. It gets served with drawn butter papadelle noodles and grilled veggies. This dish along with their emaculate wine selection pairs well with every dish they have. Bricks is perfect for any occasion. Banquets, family dinners, or a nice date.

After all these years and incarnations of business’ that have occupied this building I have never been inside. I really like the look and feel of the interior, well exterior too. It reminds me of my childhood. We were seated right away and soon after asked what we might want to drink. I did order wine, something I very rarely do and it was good. A person I believe the bus person brought a very small white place with three very small lumps of bread. When he placed it on the table all three of us just broke out laughing. For heaven sake folks why bother? It had no real flavour and if anyone of us waned to use a bit of butter to get some flavour it would have been gone for the other two since that too was minuscule. We at that point were hoping this is not a sign of things to come. Gus ordered the lump crab for a starter, but they has just sold the last one so he opted for the Grilled Scallops and Calamari Steak. He said it was wonderful and was quite pleased. I had a Romaine«Wedge» Salad, I know boring but I did very much enjoy it as it was crisp and the blue cheese was fantastic. My sister has the Spinach salad and she too enjoyed. The one thing I did notice at all other tables getting salad they were offered ground pepper, we were not. For our mains Gus ordered the Rib Eye Steak medium, although it did come out a true medium rare it was very tender and tasty. The steak came with very white mashed potatoes with horse radish. If it had been for me I would have found it too strong in flavour, but Gus liked them and ate it all. My sister got lucky with one of the specials it being Short Ribs, something she really enjoys and did so here. Her potatoes too were of the horse radish flavoured and they were a bit much for her and did not eat most of them. I had the Fettuccini Pescatore which had scallops, shrimp and lobster in a parmesan cream sauce which turned out a bit more loose than I had expected but was very good none the less. So yes we all enjoyed our dinners and this is one of the few times in the last couple of years where we went for a birthday dinner and it actually turned out well, so Thanks. Oh and the service was very friendly if not a bit disjointed.

Bricks is easily the nicest restaurant in Reno! Such a beautiful space and classy food. They gave our group the 5 star treatment! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share — the best were the Barbecue Peppered Prawns and Baked Mushroom Caps. I think I ate two orders of the mushrooms myself! They were served in an Escargot plate and were stuffed with Escargot and Blue Cheese. Next I had a cup of their soup special which I can’t remember if it was pumpkin or butternut squash — I just remember it was so delicious I forgot to share with my husband!(oops) We were supposed to be splitting the soup and the Spinach Salad. The best part of the Spinach Salad was the warm goat cheese — so melty and creamy! My entrée was the Fettuccine Pescatore with huge chunks of lobster plus scallops and shrimp. Definitely a memorable meal with good friends in the Biggest Little City in the World!
