The food here is pretty good but you can smoke inside so I won’t be back. Its also open 24 hours with food the whole time. We got burgers and onion rings that were both good but again people were smoking all around us so its low class at best.

Love the ambiance. It’s a beautiful bar with great bar food. The burger was huge, it was good. Made to order. The server was great, food was out quickly. It was very expensive bar food as someone else pointed out. It just wasn’t memorable I guess. Nothing stands out as exceptional. Will I go back? Sure. Cute bartender.

Stopped by for a burger and brew. Have always wanted to give this place a shot based on previous reviews about their burgers. I had the gambler which was cooked properly and didn’t disappoint. Had the cajun fries which had a nice kick :) Gambled a bit at the bar while enjoying a couple 60 minute Dogfish Head IPA’s. Be careful on hitting Max bet on the machines… they play up to 50 credits! I lucked out on my hand of Blackjack or it would have been an expensive lunch. Staff was attentive and friendly. Look forward to going back! Burgers are a bit expensive but for the quality and quantity it was well worth it!

The service is great, the staff is very nice, the food is amazing! Best burgers I’ve ever had! The Bloody Mary was very good! And the prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. We will be coming back, there’s so much more we want to try!

Yet another Reno Sports Bar, so I wasn’t ever very keen on trying it. Basically, because I’m not much of a sports fan. But we decided to give it a try anyway. We were greeted at the door with a friendly hello and chose to sit at the bar. No problem said the greeter, if you’re not treated well, you let me know right away. Well, we were treated very well. Since I had a burger yesterday, I opted for a Nathan’s hot dog(New Yorkers know they are the best hot dogs ever). Loved the way the served food at the bar. They have these small trays that fit over the curve of the bar, that brings your food up close to you and you don’t have to eat on top of the slot machine. In fact, they are conveniently designed, so you can still play while you eat. LOL Food was hot and served in an appropriate amount of time. And it was good. I would definitely go back(as long as there is no major game on… sorry just can’t take it). But otherwise the food and atmosphere were good. It was not dark inside like some bars can get. Plenty of table seating and a pretty long bar. Also, unlike many sports bar that specialize in beers, they had some nice wines… and they had lots of tap options as well. Oh, and although I love kid, sometimes it’s not appropriate. No one under 21 allowed.

Really 2 and ½ stars. Food is good, but«special» hamburgers, special because of ground meat used, chuck and rib meat, not a taste sensation and no better than other places that sell quality burgers. Very nice buns, but burgers on the pricey side. On to the Hot dogs. Nathan’s Hot Dogs, a tasty, quality hot dog until it is sliced open and broiled to shoe leather toughness. There is only French’s Yellow Mustard on the table, no Gulden’s, or Deli Mustard, and to get some relish you’ll have to pay 50 cents and then get more than enough to float a small dinghy. Fresh cut French fries were not crispy and were greasy through and through. Deep fryer not hot enough? Friendly and helpful server. Not worth the price. Ambience bar-like, nothing special, either. Fine dining prices for steak dinners and Prime Rib at «market price». Pretentious because this is NOT a place you’d go for fine dining.

The food is really good! With that being said, it’s realllllly expensive for«bar» food. I get that they use great ingredients it’s just overpriced; for Reno especially. I’ve been here a few times. The last time I went it was $ 130 for 4 of us… One entrée and one drink each. I’ll be back because it’s so delicious.

Two lesbians walk into a bar… Just kidding. Kinda. We wanted to watch the Seahawks blow it on the way to the superbowl, so we stopped here for brunch. We weren’t hung over, but they had an excellent selection of hangover food. When in Rome! It’s easy to overlook this place from the outside unless you’re looking at Unilocal. When you walk in you’ll notice an entirely different atmosphere than you might expect. The place is immaculate and updated. I’d come here for brunch, happy hour, or dinner and would be happy with any visit. The service is excellent and very casual(you know when the waitress calls you an ass because you keep tormenting your partner about their losing team, that they know how to approach their clientele). It’s a laid back and comfortable place to eat and watch a game and have a drink, and oh their drinks look delicious. Next time for sure!

This was our first time going here, and with all of the hype from Unilocal,co-workers and the reno foodies facebook page we were excited to try their burgers. For starters, the establishment is clean and taken care of. There were about a dozen other people in the place, so not overly busy or loud. We were both given menus, and soon found out that the information in them did not match. One of my burgers had an horseradish aioli sauce, where as my wife’s did not. Also, there was a charge for garlic/parm or Cajun fries in her menu but not in mine. This led to some confusion, but not enough to take stars away. We both ordered the Gambler(SAVORYAPPLEWOODBACON, BEERBATTEREDONIONRING, SMOKEYBBQSAUCE&CHEDDARCHEESE, SERVEDWITHLETTUCE, TOMATO, &PICKLECHIPS $ 16) cooked medium one with garlic parm fries and the other with Cajun. When the food arrived we noticed that only one of the plates had updated fries, Cajun, so I mentioned it to the server. He indicated that the waiter put in both orders for Cajun and that he would get an order of garlic parm out for us ASAP. Nice of him to rush them, but if the waiter put both in as Cajun, why was only one order of them Cajun and the other plain? We cut into our burgers and found that hers was more of a medium well and mine was a medium rare. If you state that«YOUAREABOUTTOENJOYTHEBESTBURGEREVER!» in your menu, it better be cooked the way I ordered. On the first bite I noticed that I could taste unseasoned ground beef. Again, this was a disappointment, I expect my patty to have some seasoning. The iced-tea and fries were full of flavor. I doubt that I could find my way back here on a regular basis, when the Cowboy burger at Verdi Grill is so much better and less expensive.

Loved the Lucky Beaver in Tahoe, so we had to try this one. Just as good! One of the best burgers — cooked the way you ask for it — I have found. Friendly bartenders. Not only do they do beef(and they do it really well), but their ahi is spot on. And wings. The Beaver sauce is excellent. I always eat too much when I come here so I make sure I come hungry. I love that it is open 24 hours because my husband is always hungry early & I don’t really like breakfast foods. Keep up the good work!

I’m I was pretty excited to try this place, but I guess our experience just fell kind of flat. The food didn’t meet expectations but the atmosphere and our server, Molly, really stood out. This place is fun, adult fun though… And not for kids. We ordered a 10 wing starter to share. You could tell these wings were frozen, but they are jumbo, which is what is promised on their menu. I wish they had a mild option because bbq is always too sweet for wings but most of the other options were spicy. The wings struck out for me. He ate most of his, and ordered a Chicago style hot dog… Which by the way was gone in 0.25 seconds so I’m just going to make the assumption that it was tasty. Their onion rings were great, and the garlic parm fries were just ok. They were soggy, I’m ok with soggy fries, but the garlic was that minced garlic in a jar that you keep in the fridge. So when they get to me, there was this weird hot/cold scenario. I don’t think I’ll order those again. Onto the one drink that we ordered. I just HAD to try this kinky beaver drink. Although Molly said that they put Kinky Vodka in it, I don’t think my drink had any. I’m a lightweight easy, and this drink was all juice. I knocked the whole think back without even flinching. I was pretty unamused as its $ 9 a pop. We probably won’t be coming here again unless it’s for a gathering. That’s what this place looks good for, a lot of space and table accommodations.

I have watched every one else check in and read the reviews. I was worried about the smokey atmosphere at Lucky, but during a week day lunch meeting discovered it wasn’t noticeable at all. The Reno Lucky seems about the same size as the Tahoe one, but a little brighter inside. We were greeted promptly at the door and seated. Ed was our server. He was on everything– waters filled, checking on food, just an attentive server. The burger was cooked past medium rare and quickly offered and brought a new one cooked to med rare, saying«we want you to be happy and the food to be right.» It was a huge juicy patty of beef with an even bigger pile of fries. The burger menu looked so yummy, but I didn’t dare try that much food on this day. I ordered the grilled Caesar salad and as I looked down a phone message from another Unilocaler said«try the ahi sliders.» I laughed and Ed was still there and said no problem I’ll change the order. They were fantastic– tender large slice of lightly grilled ahi with a light spicy slaw on a buttery toasted bun($ 14) I definitely will be returning starving the next time to try one of those burgers. They range $ 13 – 18. Nice bar atmosphere and a bonus for some– no children allowed, must be 21. So the only possible whiny people there are the ones that lost money at the bar slot machines or watching their team lose on one of the flat screens around the bar.

O.M.G!!! Where has this place BEEN all of my life??? I came in with every intention on ordering the Ahi Poke that I’ve been eyeballing on reviews for MONTHS now… but when I was live in person looking at the menu, the«Pit Boss» burger jumped off the page and screamed at me to try it. I’m SO glad I did!!! That chili though… seriously! It is SO good, and topped with Jalapenos and Onion… Mmmm!!! It’s so rare to find really good chili(unless it’s homemade) these days! I got it with onion rings, which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was great. Casual, friendly, quick but not pushy. Just a great experience all the way around. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu… maybe the Poke next time? Or the Ahi Tuna salad. Mmmm!!!

The Lucky Beaver is a favorite of mine for several reasons, but it’s predominately the staff and burgers that keep me coming back! Chelsy, Aaron, and Gary are all amazing and take amazing care of myself and my friends whenever we’re in! If you ever go in, try the Gold Rush burger! It’s AMAZING!

UPDATES If you want to read my unhappy rant below feel free. I’m updating this because we have talked to the Stores GM and he was very understanding to our situation, and very regretful about what happened. He is returning our money and wants us to return when we can and insured us that we would have a much better experience. I’m willing to give them that chance(making sure to sit as far from the fire as possible) moving my review from 1 star to 4 since they handled this so well. Let me start by saying this has nothing to do with the wait staff, they were excellent. I sat down to have an awesome lunch with the wife and watch the Pack game. We were quickly seated then ordered food. So as a precursor I have Reactive Respiratory disorder. Which is a fancy term for asthma like symptoms brought on by smoke and other chemicals. So shorty after sitting down I started to feel my chest tighten and told the Wife we need to bail fast. I think this was brought on by the open fire that they use to cook some of their food. Now let me same I’m not blaming them for that, or the attack. We quickly told the hostess to please cancel our orders and we had to leave because of my breathing. She said she was sorry then we left. Then as we were getting in our car she came out to ask us if we wanted our food to go because it was already ready. The Wife went in to grab it while I used my inhaler. She mentioned that the manager was upset that we ordered and weren’t paying. Personally if I was running the place I’d have just let it go. Regardless the Wife paid, and tipped our server(none of this were her doing we think she should still get tipped) then they said the food needed a few more minutes. The Wife watched as one of the cooks slowly(like a snail she said) started to assemble our food. After a few minutes she said this is crazy my husband is having an asthma attack I’m not waiting and left. I had such high hopes for this place and the food looked great. I’m not blaming them I couldn’t breath just how they dealt with things.

Visiting Reno. My wife Debby W. Created a Unilocal compliments page & utilized«My Talk». Had lots of good referrals to «Lucky Beaver». Showed up, had lots of great current country playing and a little hip-hop…Loved the vibe from the moment I walked in. It reminds you of a cool college bar with great food! Molly our server was outstanding big big props her way. Food: Organic, hormone free, cooked amazingly well. Wow… Winning!!!

We stopped in after a doctor appt., have been wanting to try it for a long time. I had the Beaver Burger with cheddar cheese, and it was delicious. Burger had a great taste, and stood up to the bun, which was nicely toasted. I had it with the tater tots, which were great, very crispy, and soft inside. I asked if they make their own, and they don’t, but they were delicious anyway. I’d have them again in an instant. Hubby had the Royal Flush, which was massive, but held together well enough to eat, unlike the burger he had last week at Burger Me. He said that there may have been too much on the burger that took away from the burger flavor, and I told him that’s why I order basic burgers! He had the tater tots too, extra crispy, and they were absolutely perfect, they know extra crispy here. I’ll order mine that way next time. Service was perfect too, with our server bringing us extra napkins without asking, checking back with us, and taking care of the table next to us who felt their coffee tasted«soapy.» They handled everything with smiles and concern, which was very nice to see. Our lunch was expensive, but wourth it, and we will certainly be back, the food was that good. I don’t mind forking over the cash when the food and service are good! Oh, they don’t do a locals 20% discount any more, which was kind of a bummer, but we’ll still go back, I can’t wait for another burger!

Let me start by saying that there is ALWAYS something great to be said for a business that goes out of their way to make sure their meat, or produce, or fish, or whatever the case may be, is the best around. We are seeing this more and more in restaurants around Reno… bought from local farms and companies, non-GMO, grass fed, cage free, no hormones, organic options hitting menus everywhere, and I really have to say this whole movement makes me one happy lady indeed. Lucky Beaver imports its meat from Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors, a «national meat wholesaler made famous for supplying several New York City-area restaurants», and from the food network too! The beef is «raised without the use of antibiotics, hormones, or growth promoting drugs. The animals are treated humanely, fed a diet of grass and hay for most of their lives and finished on corn.» The beef is chopped instead of ground and the difference is clear… verrry clear. Prices are per usual for this quality of food! Even the Ahi is shipped fresh from Hawaii every two days… FRESH Ahi every two days?! Yes please! All of this makes it a must try… So for lunch today, my husband and I decided to go. The menu was simple enough for a bar and grill. Appetizers, salads, Pat LaFrieda burgers, chicken sandwiches, Nathan’s hotdogs and a nice breakfast menu as well, all served 24hours. The Loco Moco sounded great, as well as the spicy Italian sausage hotdog… but my hungry eye kept hovering back over to the Gambler Burger. After reading about the chopped steak beef they use for their burgers, there was no way I wasn’t trying one! A huge juicy patty, with pepper jack cheese, BBQ sauce, Applewood smoked bacon, an Onion ring, lettuce, tomato and pickles! 1 $ extra for garlic parm fries, one of my favs. and once again I’m in foodie heaven snapping Instagram photos of my meal with the hashtag FoodPorn!!! And not to be left out, my husband ordered the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich on sourdough bread. Our waiter Ed was charismatic, friendly and nice. He was helpful with the menu and answered all of our questions before we even had to ask! I noticed the way he talked to each customer, he is amazingly friendly, has so much energy and genuine enthusiasm that my husband noticed it too and mentioned something to me about it. Ed brought us our food as soon as it was up and the excitement that overcame me when I saw this monster burger heading my way was uncontainable! I grabbed my phone as soon as he set it down to take pictures!!! Best burger I’ve ever had in my opinion and I’ve tried quiet a few places between here and Tahoe! The meat was the true star… juicy, beefy, tender with no gristle anywhere to be found… just the right amount of pink in the middle. I’ve literally never had a better burger anywhere. I’d gladly pay $ 16 for it again… although next time I’m trying one with mushrooms! My husband said his food was great too… but I think he needs one of these burgers in his life! …next time!

I’ll preface my review by saying maybe this isn’t the best restaurant to go to if you don’t eat red meat, which I don’t. After all the great reviews, my co-workers and I stopped by for an impromptu lunch yesterday. We started with the Poke, which was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but the fish was good and fresh. It definitely had a kick to it. Besides the size, there were only two chips that came with it, which makes it hard to share with 4 people. I was impressed that their burgers could be swapped out for a veggie patty, so I ordered one with pepperjack and avocado. Boy was I surprised when my co-workers came out with giant, glorious looking burgers and then my tiny, overcooked veggie patty came out. I haven’t eaten red meat in almost 20 years, so I know what to expect, but it was a sad, burned veggie patty with a minimal amount of avocado on a wee little bun. And for $ 15, that’s just a bit much. I’d love to see a less expensive veggie burger or turkey burger option on the menu to temper my disappointment. The saving grace of the meal were the tater tots, because who can go wrong with those? There was nothing special about them, although you can order them with garlic parmesan or cajun style, but tater tots were the high point of the meal. Way to cater to the 5-year-old in me.

My first visit here, lunch on a Friday at 11:15. Easy parking and easy seating. Love the atmosphere inside. Large bar, ample table seating, and fire from the grill visible. Was very pleased to be able to eat a full low carb lunch. Got my beaver cheesburger naked and with Swiss. Replaced the fries with a generous side salad. Water to drink and total was $ 16 so its not cheap, but the food was good. Burger cooked to a perfect medium. Best part for me was the service — fast, friendly and extremely attentive. Truly impressive. Manager was also easy to pick out and this is a very well managed joint. Will definitely return.
