The wings are good personally I like the New Orleans best ones, the best in Reno I think not. I mean they are good but lets not get carried away. Now the Bar is a bit iffy there are alot of younger kids in here because that night club mambos is right around the corner and you can tell alot of them are coming from there. This isn’t exactly the cleanest place I saw a fly or some kind of bug crawling on one the tables once and even though I had a few drinks, I said thats it i made a conscious decision to never come back right then and there. There are lots of regulars here especially on wings Wednesdays and they are a bit territorial, I actually saw an older lady in her 50’s punch a guy in the face who was in his 20s’ because they were fighting over the juke box, ironically i went to high school with that guy. Once i went to the bathroom and the door wouldn’t open almost like it was barricaded, finally I pushed the door open and there were a bunch of guys in there who I am assuming were doing drugs, and one pulled a knife out on me and said dont tell anybody or else. Sometimes i tend to have a smart mouth and i really had to pee so i made a remark which isn’t appropriate to post on here, now that i think of it this all happened in the same night and it was on a Wednesday. Anyways there are much better and cleaner places to get wings here in Reno and unless you wanna run into questionable people i suggest going else where.

The best wings I’ve ever had. The price was good. Amazing to think a hole in the whole can have such great food. Amazing.

Quite possibly the smallest and smokiest sports bar I’ve ever been in. Tucked away in a ghost of a strip mall, this is a neighborhood bar without a neighborhood. Still, the football fans were out in force when I wandered in to grab a take-out order of the«best wings in Nevada». Best they’re not, but they’re definitely among the largest. The sauce was a little sweet and the skin wasn’t at all crisp, but they give you plenty of bird for the buck.

The thing with jox is that looks are deceiving. Hidden and tucked away, then you walk in and it’s small and dark. BUT — the food is AMAZING and so are the drinks! Reasonably priced. At least give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Very friendly, for the size of the place its great! Good food, if you like sports, place to go. One small size pool table, one electronic dart board, good music. Alot of workers from Pepermill, @ Alantis go to joxs(waitress, if you catch my drift).

This place is ridiculous! They won’t take a to-go order over the phone. EVENWHENYOUOFFERTOPAYWITH A CREDITCARD! For anyone who has a busy life and places to go orders to: 1) support local business; and 2) get food on the fly, this is NOTTHEPLACEFORYOU! They’d rather make you waste your time. Or the employees aren’t smart enough to secure phone orders.

Let me preface this with… I joined Unilocal specifically to comment on this establishment. I’ve never given a negative review on anything but I felt like I couldn’t pass on this. Nightmare bar… It has an older crowd(which in itself isn’t a bad thing), fog of smoke and the cliques are the worst. Try to start a conversation with someone sitting next to you and you’ll get the cold shoulder. The food is over priced and often soggy. Rude and condescending bartenders who charge you extra if they don’t know you as well as the other people in the bar. Avoid this hole at all cost, unless you’re a masochist and love being treated like c

The sign says«The best wings in Nevada». There was only one way to find out. My cousin and I stopped in here for some beers and wings recently. We were not disappointed. The place is a typical dive in terms of the décor, atmosphere, etc. Which never bothers me. A good looking bartender was welcoming and served us. We ordered two types of wings. The«New Orleans» style wings are the way to go. Delish. In terms of finding good wings in Nevada, this place is the best I’ve had. The sign(whether self-proclaimed or actually voted?) lived up to it’s name. I’ll be back for sure. The beer was cold, the wings were great, and we even left with money in our pocket from the video poker machine… just kidding. But the first part is true.

So I was totally under aged when I started coming here…20 years ago and I’m only 37 now so you do the math. We were part of the after swing shift regulars that went every night from a bank vault processing job we had. My husband and I had our first kiss drunk at the bar and we’re still happily married today. Ahhhhh to be young and in love before kids, mortgages and real careers that keep you from going to places like JOX for a fall down drunken night of puke where you go find some«strange». I miss this place and over the years we still go back there on our anniversaries to relive our glory days. Still pretty much the same great food and the owners are awesome. Very friendly. We’ll continue to go occasionally as long as it’s open.

Lately the wings have been on point! –saucy! –crispy! –and hot! That’s the perfect wing combination. Somtimes jox slips up, but mostly they’ve been on point for us lately. 5 stars, back in the game!

Although I am not a meat eater, but JOX does have the best chicken wings! Wing wed is a great deal! $ 6.00 a dozen?! You can’t beat that! I personally love taco Tuesday and Thursday!(Instead of meat they grill mushrooms for me) great greasy food-classic dive bar. Yes you can smoke here. So what-big deal. Eat the food!!!

Those chicken wings! Nice and meaty, the sauce is awesome, then they finish them off in the grill which really sets them apart. Some if the best wings I’ve had in Reno for sure! They also have pretty good ranch dressing. The Bar itself is decent if you like little stuffy hole in the wall type places, that are open late, and pour a bit heavy, which I do.

Piss poor. I haven’t been in years and I recall why now. Bartender(she) didn’t say two words to us other than to take our order. When we ordered Coors light we were told the keg was«warm» because he just put it in. switched it up and got bad beer. was going to order food but the ability to see into the kitchen showed us the cook using the same rag on a work station cutting board as he does on his sweaty head. Very Very Gross. Then as we looked over and there was a guy yelling and whistling at a Chihuahua that was headed for the kitchen . We won’t be eating here, or coming back I bet. PS it says«best wings in Nevada» says who? RNR has consistently chosen Bullys or Joe Bobs for years. It should be noted that it was the first day of college football and we wanted to watch some games and support a local bar. We sat down in front of a TV to watch our game of choice and gamble, 15 minutes later a customer sat down next to us and the bartender handed him the remote and said«you can watch whatever you want.» He then changed the first day of college football to a 22 games out of first place Chicago cubs vs a 25 games out of first place Phillies game… wtf? Pps super ass loud jukebox…

Hi JOX! I used to be a regular. Maybe 8 – 9 years ago and still will stop by occasionally. Although, I don’t know the bartenders anymore for sure. It is a divey bar. Yes it is, but i like divey bars. The only minus is the loud jukebox. It’s manageable if it’s a decent music, but sometimes it’s a shitty music and there is no escaping. Food is good, very cheap. There are some machines on the bar and Jox might be the only bar that will give you some free drinks if you play the machines. Bartenders are always nice and helpful. The smoking is part of the dive bar, so even though I don’t smoke, I am at peace with that. I am glad there is Jox in Reno among all the trendy places. It’s nice to just go to a normal place and relax without having to be experiencing«new trendy» things all the time :) Needless to say I will be visiting occasionally

Careful on this review. I will never go to this place for a drink or to hangout. But I will go there for the WINGS! Wow this place has a hidden gold-mine back there. If they would actually try a little harder this would be one of the best bars in Reno because of the Wings… yummy!
