So we have a meet up group and all have dinner together 2 – 4 times a month. We had such a great time here last month that we came back last night on 8−19−15. We had a reservation for a Wednesday night at 5:30. We all started arriving around 5 and sitting on the patio wanted some margaritas for happy hour. First we had to go in and ask twice before we could get drinks. The drinks, yuck, the previous month they had been great. This month if they had any tequila it was a drop or two at most. Poor tasting at best. We asked to order dinner about 5:40, our bartender/waiter was surly, there is no other word for it. Finally after the second request we got to start ordering about 6:15. Several people never got their second drink at all. As the organizer I went in and asked to speak to the manager, our bartender came out. He told me if we did not like it we could go somewhere else. All of our jaws dropped. He told us he was busy. There were 2 people in the bar and about 3 other tables with another waitress. Then he said there were a lot of to go orders. Ok, tell them longer and wait on the people attempting to order drinks and food. Apparently this is not the case at La Posada. Another member went and asked and he was just as rude to her. She offered to buy him a shot if we could order, he told her he did not need a shot to do that. I then called this morning to talk to a manager. When I asked the young lady on the phone laughed. She was also laughing in the back ground as I was complaining about the dreadful service. The young man was so indifferent he was like, yea, ok. There are ALOT of excellent Mexican food Restaurants in Reno. I work hard for my money and passed pissed off about 6:30 last night. To be laughed at as I relate what terrible service we had is simply unacceptable. The bartender/waiter SUCKED and the Asst. Manager was right up there with him. The young lady on the phone needs to go. It is a shame, they have good food and love the patio, but the 10 of us have now told at least another 20 people. My husbands group was going this Saturday and there are 14 of them. They will not be going either. The owners need to get some decent help. We tip well, drink, eat and make merry in a nice way. This was the worst dinner we have had in the last year. We eat out a lot and to say that means it was awful. Shame on La Posada Real, we were looking forward to another dinner there in 2 weeks. Going someplace else. So I hope they are happy with running off a good 50 people. Hope there take out keeps them busy enough!
