The staff was all really nice and helpful. from the front desk person to check us in as well as the doctor and his intern. The doc was able to answer all my questions and even some i didn’t ask, I felt very comfortable with his assessment of the issue and recommendations.

The staff was great and welcoming. But once i got into the room the doctor was rude and wouldn’t let me nurse my son to calm him down while he put his splint on… Wish i would of took him some place else but the nurses there are awesome

We had no problem with the front, like other reviews, but we did have a very unpleasant experience with one of the Drs. — Dr. DK. He did not seem to care for patient’s condition, he kept on saying ‘I am an expert, so don’t explain how you feel, just let me examine you’. Almost shutting us up. We wanted to ask questions, but he basically ignored and left a room. Our first visit with him(this one was our second visit), he was with a training medical student, and he was much nicer, more attentive to a patient. I guess he was acting up? Well, long story short, we visited another orthopedics and the diagnosis we got from dr. DK was totally wrong– maybe he should have ordered MRI or other tests, just liked we asked for? We basically wasted weeks of possible treatment, because of incorrect diagnosis. Your«expertise» was wrong, dr!!!

I took my son there after being told he has patellar tendionitis by his team trainer for his football team. Dr Kieckbusch is the team dr so we were told to make an appointment with him which we did. I called to make an app and talked to Ashley who made our app no problem. I asked her if we needed a ref from our primary care DR and she said ‘No «you are fine. I double and triple checked before hanging up with her and was told no ref needed. 2 days before his app around 3:30 Jessica called me and said we needed a ref from his PCP. Ok so this has been booked for 1 week and just now 2 days before his app now they need a ref? I worked on trying to get it but with a short amount of time basically 1 day I had to try and get him in I called and asked if we could pay cash for his visit in case we couldnt get in to his PCP and was told no By the office manager Kelly Norman. She was so RUDE to me when she called me and said she was going to CXL his app if we didnt get a ref. OK so I guess our money isnt good there or she assumed we couldnt pay it idk but she was just gonna CXL his app. Kelly then proceded to call me at work the day before at 4:15 did paperwork on the patient portal Said«well you work for a DR’s office so you should know how ins works» Ummmm Excuse me? who are you to tell me what I should know in my job? she was so rude I cant even begin to tell you ! I scrambled to try and get this ref before 5 and recieved yet another phone call from Kelly saying they were going to CXL our app because we didnt have a ref. I asked when booking this if I needed one and was told no if I was told correctly by the front desk girl Ashley this all could have been taken care of. I finally got our PCP to fax the ref and at 5 Kelly calls me and says oh ok you can be seen tomorrow. Really? Our ins isnt the greatest but its insurance and you will get paid lady. we come in and see dr Kieckbusch and he spent 5 min with us and told us everything we already knew and offered no treatment. Very disapointed with the whole office and how my son and I were treated. we wont be back I will take him somewhere that will be happy to have us as patients and actually help us.

After an ER visit, my daughter was referred to them for cast. After getting in touch with them the following day they said they’d get back in touch with us later in the day, failing to tell us the referred physician was out all week. This led to a series of less-than-honest phone calls with them the next day, which finally led me to bringing in my sad, broken-legged child and pressing them for an appointment. They tried to shine me on yet again, until I finally got them to tell me what in fact was going on(the physician was on-vacation; heck, we all need a break sometime) and that another physician would be in touch. They seemed to think this was enough and I’d go away(never mind the broken-legged kid in my arms), but I pressed them further until they got on the phone with the other office(equally poorly-run, see my other review), and somehow, we had an appointment for two days later. I don’t know about the physicians at this office, but the front end needs to improve their approach. Their physicians are busy, I get it, but a better approach would just to be honest about situations and try to help the patients as best as possible.

I am really not a happy client of Great Basin Orthopedics. We scheduled an appointment for the first time a week in advance to take my son in for his collar bone. Two days before the appointment I received ONE message asking if we were available for an earlier appointment, we were not so I did not call back. The very next day they called and CONFIRMED his appointment for our original time, so here I thought we were just fine. We go in and they tell me they have MOVED my appointment to hours earlier and that they had called… They NEVER told me they were moving the appointment, they called and CONFIRMED my original appointment time and the ONE message they left only asked if we were available for an earlier time. I figured they just had a cancellation. All they had to do was call me and tell me the Dr. had overbooked and that I needed to come in sooner or reschedule. So I got to wait an hour for my appointment with my newborn and my 4 year old. So for our follow up appointment, once again I get a call CONFIRMING my appointment time. I go in 5 minutes early and they tell me the Dr. is not in because he is in surgery and we need to reschedule. NOCALL and NOMESSAGE. They let me drive all the way there with my children just to tell me to come back in a few days. I wanted to update this, we received multiple calls from them regarding a bill and had no idea what they were talking about. It turns out they didn’t bill our insurance correctly and the girls up front didn’t even have the right information in the computer(but had a copy of our insurance card). The lady we dealt with on the phone was extremely apologetic for their mistakes. But honestly, it’s one thing after another with this place. We will never go here again.
