I am writing this based on today’s meal and value. Gold N Silver has been open 60 years! As a result, they have a special offering. It’s M-W of this week, ending at 10PM on W. It’s $ 0.95 for a breakfast, lunch or dinner option. $.015 per glass of coke, $ 0.10 per cup of coffee. Today I had the dinner of spaghetti. It’s a delicious homemade meat sauce. 5 stars! =)

Really like the offerings here. The ambiance is a bit old fashioned but the food has been really great. Updated 06÷04÷16: The menu is exceptional, you can get whatever you want 24 hours. Going there late evening I had a great fried chicken salad and my mother had a taco salad which she said(and told the chef) was a work of art! Both were huge and we had to have boxes. They looked great, tasted great and I’d really recommend this place!

14.75 for chicken fried steak and eggs?! Plus 2.30 for coffee?!? Come on guys. Soggy home fries and slightly burned country fried steak. I’m one and done with this place. Lots of other great choices in Reno.

This is the second time I have been here and it doesn’t disappoint at all. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and it was cooked diner perfect! My son and his friends loved their food as well. The wait staff is extremely attentive and your water and coffee will be filled before it is half gone. I just really like this place. .. check it out.

I ordered the lemonade Pork chops and Mac and cheese and both were terrible! Mashed potatoes and gravy were ok. I can’t imagine myself ever going back!

I love this place. I love very near, so this ends up being my stop for breakfast on Saturday mornings before errands. The food is typical diner food, but don’t well. Service is quick, but we always sit at the counter. My husband like that they have ‘brewed ice tea,’ a big deal for ice tea lovers. I’m a coffee drinker; the coffee is fine, not the reason to come here, though. For two of us, it’s typically a $ 25 breakfast and we’re out the door within 45 minutes.

We decided to stop by here on the account of the show diner drives and dives. This was a cool little place with actually decent diner food. And reasonably priced.

Great food. Loved the lemonade pork chops, the rib eye, French toast and pancakes!(Large family) the bread pudding was the best!!! I will come back! Cece, our server, was great too! The only negative was the smokiness floating over from the slot area and bar room. I may just be used to and prefer non-smoking CA restaurants.

It’s an institution here in Reno. Guy from Diners, Drive-ins & Dives has been there. Guy even has two suggestions on the menu Lemonade Pork Chops(tasty) and a Pounder Sandwich(haven’t had the appetite to try it). Tons of seating options — booths, tables, bar, and 2 private rooms. They serve comfort food at reasonable prices. So the clientele ranges from UNR students, families, and people looking for a hearty cheap meal. Some might say it’s divey; ok a bit but in all the right ways. The service is quick and friendly. Many of the servers have been there for decades. Best thing on the menu is the pistachio cake. At first blush you might think no way. The frosting is the color of Kermit the Frog. The cake is almost black. It looks like something that would be served at the Mad Hatter Tea Party. The frosting is creamy not sweet and the cake is moist not too rich. The rumor is an 80 year old German lady makes the cake and she’s training the next gestation to bake. Entire cakes can be purchased. Warning they are frozen! Open 24⁄7. I’m sure I’ll be back.

I’m a huge fan of Gold-N-Silver! It is, by far, one of my favorite greasy spoons in Reno! I love the feel as it reminds me of a hometown restaurant we ate at my entire childhood. Is it fancy? NO… but that’s why I love it! You don’t have to make things«glitzy» or fancy… it’s clean, the food is excellent, and the service is down-to-earth. I also love that I can drop my husband off at the airport at 4:00 am and head here for an AWESOME breakfast! They never disappoint with their to-go order times, either… they are always quick and ready by time I get there! I will be a forever fan of Gold-N-Silver!

This is a Reno landmark. This restaurant has been around for roughly 50 years. The furnishing and without meaning to be derogatory staff seemed to have been there since the place opened. It’s as clean as a 50 year old restaurant with the original furnishing can be. And the somewhat senior wait staff if friendlier and more efficient than some of the young people you see who treat you like they are doing you a favor by serving you. Go seniors… you’ve still got what it takes. The food is good. I’ve been here several times and especially like their Rueben. This place was visited by the Food Channels«Drive-in, Diners & Dives.» They featured the Lemonade Pork Chops and a 16 Oz. Chopped Steak Plate. So I thought I’d try the Lemonade Pork Chops. They were tender and tasty, but I found myself looking for something«lemony» in the taste. There seemed to be some citrus flavor in the sauce. basically a BBQ sauce. I’m not complaining, it was very good, plus it came with a house salad or soup of the day, plus you get to pick your 2 side dishes. All for $ 13.95. But their other claim to fame is their Pistachio Chocolate Cake which I believe is still made by the owner(although I’ve heard they are teaching others to make it). It is GOOD. And, you can order their cakes, but if you do, be care they frequently freeze them … just tell them you want a fresh one. So if you just want good, not fancy food at a reasonable price, this is the place to go. You will have to walk through a small but equally old casino to get to the restaurant. Enjoy!

The lemonade pork chop is really good and very tender. Husband and I split the dinner and it was plenty for the both of us. The chili is thick and hearty. They broiled the zucchini and it was really good. The staff is super friendly. Opened 24 hours with good and slots!

this place is hella old town Reno style! Very outdated establishment. It’s like sitting in an old Denny’s from the late 80’s …with the staff and folk to match. Haha from the outside it looks old Skool, when u walk in, SAME! There’s a lil dinky slots area as u walk in, to the left. my gf and I had brunch here on 10⁄20. We were very impressed with the FOOD. very Triple D’s type of selections with awesome variety of flavors. I recommend the world to stop in and try a meal if ur out in Reno. –should they upgrade the place? it definetly could use an upgrade but then again, why change what works.

I really like coming to eat here. Old school décor and feel to the place. Friendly service and friendly people. Doesn’t at all feel like you are in a gambling city except for a few slot machines near the entrance. We had biscuits and gravy which is big enough for two people. Rib eye steak with over medium eggs. Everything was cooked as ordered and if the corned beef hash had been a little better I would have given this place a five star for what it is. Great down home diner feel where you can sit eat and read your paper comfortably. Enjoy…

Such a great divey place! The food is always great especially after a long night. The ladies are super friendly and quick to pour more coffee or bring another bloody mary.

Had planed on giving this old reno restaurant a better review as I have eaten here for years and the food is always good. But, today I had breakfast and the service was terrible I never got a refill on my water or coffee ! I even moved them to the edge of the table in hopes someone would ask. But, no one did ! When I finally asked someone the lady said yes then proceeded to help two other tables ! Kinda hard to eat pancakes with no fluid to wash them down.

Another of our TripleD stops along our trip last week. I had the Ground Beef Pounder and found it to be very good. The Mrs got the steak and it was a bit over done. It’s an older establishment and showing some wear but the people were very pleasant. .the Mrs even hit the slots while we were there.

Looked online to find a good diner to eat while we’re out here in Reno instead of going to Dennys. Surprisingly this dinner had everything we wanted and more. Great service as soon as you walk in and a good amount of selections. The staff constantly was checking on us and never let our coffee get to 3 lie which is a definite plus. Was weary due to a review about smoke smell, but they have their own non smoking section. Biscuits and gravy were very good and flavorful. Eggs cooked to perfection. Next time I’ll try the eggs Benedict and one of their sweet dishes like their cinnamon bun french toast. Overall good experience for a diner that’s been on the show Dinners Drive-Ins and Dives. Will be back again.

After hearing so much about this place, I wanted to love it but unfortunately I really only just like it. My parents have been talking about Gold-N-Silver Inn since they discovered it about a year ago. Besides their recommendations, what sparked our interest further were their appearance on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and their lemonade pork chops. We stopped in on Sunday morning around 10:30am. Since the hostess was away and the cashier was busy we were told we could seat ourselves anywhere. Shortly after settling in a booth we were brought menus and ordered drinks. Mom and dad ordered tradition breakfast dishes, I got biscuits and gravy and my husband went with the lemonade pork chops. I thought the food was good but didn’t meet the hype of DDD and other Unilocal reviews. Biscuits & Gravy /Ham, Eggs, Hash: I like that the gravy was thick and homemade. It had a lot of flavor and smothered the biscuits. The biscuits were actually a little hard inside. You know when you take something that was frozen and heat it up then let it sit and it gets hard, that’s kinda what it was like. The ham was a good sized slice, I like sunny side up eggs and hash was perfect. I tasted a bite or two of the lemonade pork chops. They were good but not something I’d go out of my way to order again. It’s nice you get two chops along with 2 sides and soup or salad. My mom’s Canadian bacon slices were huge and dad’s bacon came out well. For me Gold-N-Silver Inn was just another breakfast spot. Maybe there was too much hype prior to going in. I’m glad we got to finally check them out but I think I’ll stick with my preferred Reno breakfast spot.
