Stopped in the Bighorn for a joint Unilocal and Reno Rodeo event and enjoyed the local watering hole. It was bright and the staff cheery, they had Legacy Vodka specials on the menu for the night and the Moscow mule was tasty. They put out a mixed spread of snacks for a small donation to the cause and it was a nice sampling from the menu. I saw the Nachos go out the kitchen window a couple of times and the serving was very generous. It was an enjoyable event I look forward to the next Unilocal outing and if you are on 7th and Keystone stop into the Bighorn and say hello!

I’m going to give it just 3 stars today, because I didn’t really get a chance to enjoy the real atmosphere of the Bighorn. Today I was here for two events… UYE Esteban’s Happy Hour and the CMYE — Unilocal Loves This Bar Feature Reno Rodeo Legacy Project fund raiser. The place was bright and airy. Seating was comfortable with some outdoor seating. They had TVs, a pool table and another table game(can’t remember the name). Restrooms were clean and the service was quick and friendly. While we did get to taste some of the food prepared by Bighorn, some of the food was not featured on their menu, but was created for this event. The food that we did have was great. We tasted wings(on the menu), pulled pork taco(think there’s a pork sandwich on the menu), veggies with dip, fries, deviled eggs(on menu) and a veggie roll-up sandwich which was great, but did not see on the menu. My daughter is fond of the Quinoa salad(not your normal bar menu item) which is on the menu and which she ordered a plate to go after these two events. So, yes, this is definitely a place I’d go back to.

Good bar and reasonable price with a lot of selection. Last week I was there with some friends. Customer service is great and plenty of bar food. Love their calamri and some soup with it. My friend told me he came here a lot. Maybe I will do make it more trips here.

Holy cow has this place changed. When I first moved to Reno I use to pop in for a quick lunch and a cocktail before doing my grocery shopping @ Raleys on 7th& Keystone. It was a locals joint, tiny(just one store front), basic food(burgers & fries), and a bit divey. Now it’s 3 store fronts with a pool table some other pub game kinda like long air hockey, The table were set up communal style. Yes they still have a bar with gaming. Gotta love the high boy 70s club bar stools! Now it has a strong hipster vibe but not trying too hard. Rumor has it there’s a place to play horse shoes in the back. There’s a large picnic table in the front aka the smoking section. The menu has been elevated. I had a quinoa salad in a former dive bar and it was really enjoyable — fresh green, diced carrots, chopped avocado and quinoa perfectly dressed. Every hip joint these days seems to have deviled eggs so I ordered we them — creamy deviled eggs topped with bacon can’t go wrong with that! Not sure what the night scene is like but the late lunch scene was casual. I’d go back again I heard the humus is amazing even on the burgers!

I was kinda disappointed in our experience at the«new and improved» Bighorn. We came in on a Sunday to a few people at the bar and one table of 4 already seated with drinks. No one greeted us and we eventually seated ourselves. The seating is kinda awkward and is a mish mash of chairs and booths that didn’t really fit well with our group of 5. I won’t go over every detail and complaint but service was SOSLOW it took almost 30 minutes to get our first round of drinks. Our server was apologetic and up sized Drew’s beer as a peace offering. Bummer part was my friend’s and my drinks were wrong but she never checked back in. My lunch was supposed to come with a salad but they served it with over seasoned fries. Like so much cracked black pepper they were inedible. Overall the lunch experience took close to an hour and a half. The rest of the meals were mediocre and we just kinda picked at them. Not a fan.

Love coming here for a relaxing easy night out with friends. We can play pool shuffle board or darts. We especially love coming Wednesday nights for trivia. Even though we have never won. Each dish is flavorful. I love the pulled pork sandwich, which comes with fries that are super addicting. Thanks for offering healthy organic food!

We’ve been to the new and improved Bighorn on several different occasions and times of day. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient and they’ve done a great job of sprucing up the place since expanding. Here are a few impressions food-wise: Breakfasts are fairly ho-hum. The Benedict hollandaise tasted canned – too heavy and thick. Also cold and poached eggs overcooked. Other breakfast choices lack much flavor. It would be great to find a few more meatless options. Bloody Mary’s were fantastic. Best part of the whole meal! Lunch menu also a bit limited. The veggie wrap is good and holds together well. Obviously I can’t comment on burgers or other meat items – maybe a portobello burger? Best for last: the fried veggies are terrific. Mushrooms, green beans, all great. Onion rings are also very good. I know a three isn’t the best rating for all the pluses I’ve mentioned. I have high hopes that the menu will improve. This place has done so much that’s right. I really want this to be the first place I think of when going out to eat.

What a gem! Just found this place — at random — on a trip from Denver to Walnut Creek. The friendliest folks and REALLY good salads and burgers!(And a VERY nice Pinot Noir as well!) A local gem that we will DEFINITELY stop at next time we pass through!!!

Bighorn has a similar friendly feel to the bar Cheers«where everybody knows your name» when you go there to eat, drink, or just hang out! Haley is the new owner and she has done a great rebranding Bighorn. Her effort is definitely noticed. The environment is spotless, the waiters and bartenders are super friendly, and the food is great! So if you have not been to Bighorns yet, definitely try it, and most likely you will probably return. Awesome hamburgers, fun times, no lie…(; 5 stars!

So we finally got a chance to check out the NEW Big Horn Bar and Grill and WOW this place is now amazing. It has gone thru a couple different owners since I have been going(almost 5 years) and we have seen some crazy stuff there. We quit going for a while as it was a little to «weird» there for a while. When we walked in we noticed the lights… my G/F and I loved the lights! They have now a couple of local breweries on tap and I really enjoy that as I like to try new and especially local craft beers. Since they took over the 1 or 2 suites next to them there is not tons of space/tables for bfast, lunch or dinner and they even have a server now. They even have free(the night we went anyway) shuffleboard, and I love shuffleboard. This place has come a long way and I am glad that someone finally to our neighborhood bar to where it should be. We didn’t try the food this time but we tried before the remodel and the food didn’t change so I am assuming it is really good as before, they even have healthy food options! The bartender was extremely helpful and nice. I can’t wait to start hanging out here more!

ATTENTION! I did not have a coupon when I came here! I know, I always have a coupon and my pops and I normally frequent restaurants with a coupon. Not this time. We came to this place for«burger night» just on the Unilocal reviews alone! How do you get here? Easy enough. From downtown, take 4th or 5th street headed toward the mountains(west). When you get to Keystone, make a right(north) headed toward Peavine. Go under the freeway(80) and make a left onto 7th street. It will be on the right side, west of the supermarket. Parking can be slim, but when we got there, there were plenty of spots. THISIS A NEIGHBORHOODBAR. Not the best choice for kids. There seating is ample with bar seating and tables chairs and booths. This place has a homey feel and towards the end of the meal, you almost feel as if «Norm» was going to walk in. Our drink order was taken first. My dad ordered a diet and the rest of our party and myself, ordered ice tea. Of everything I could complain about, I would have never expected this. The ice tea was served in small tumblers. Very small. But, we were told that the ice tea was brewing and we would receive larger glasses. Our order was taken and the burgers were off to be prepared. They offer two burgers, the flat-top ½ pound burger and their vegie burger. Tonight was burger night and that means meat! I ordered mine with bleu cheese(of course I did!). In about 5 minutes, the ice tea was done brewing and we received new glasses of ice tea. Yes, these glasses were larger. They stood about 3″ tall. This was, in fact, taller than the other shorties we had. It was also larger in diameter. But, for ice tea, it was a small glass. They make their own ice tea and apparently, it takes time to make it. Yes, it did taste good but I was thirsty for ice tea and I had to pace myself with these midget glasses. Fortunately, that was the only drawback to the entire evening. The service was great and looked good too. The burgers were served with what looked like to be fresh cut fries! Wow, they were good! We ordered the fries without salt and that’s just how they came out. No salt. Fantastic! The order was taken by memory and it was delivered exactly as we ordered it. I find that amazing! The meat was seasoned very lightly and it didn’t need anymore than that. The quality of the meat came through with each bite on, what appeared to be, a home made hamburger bun. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - This bottom line is a yes. Even got to speak to Haley, the owner and she’s serious about her business and yet does her work with a smile and was more than happy to talk to anyone who wanted to say Hi. Now, this is the type of business that I would like to open!

On our way back from Burning Man, our RV needed some maintenance, and while we were waiting for the RV to be serviced, we decided to have dinner… This place came up as closest to our location. It had only 7 reviews, and we were skeptical, but when we walked in — one of my friends recognized it as his campmates place! We got excited! We ordered everything on the menu between 8 of us and«Oh, dear!» It was the best place to bring back the taste buds after eating/drinking/inhaling playa dust! Deviled eggs, Sweet potato fries, burger, grits, salads — we were silent for good 30 minutes! And the drinks were outstanding too! Moscow mule was my personal favorite. I am adding this place to my «When in Reno» list and skipping dinner at GSR next year and going straight here!

With new owners, both the menu and the décor underwent an amazing facelift! The new menu has taken simple bar food items and added a gourmet twist to each one. The bartenders super friendly as well. One of the bartenders remembered every person’s name in our group of 20! The kitchen staff cooked each of our burgers exactly how we wanted them also. I was told the Caesar salad and the Tacos were delicious too. Not only was the food and service great, they also have an impressive wine list(the new owner is taking the steps to become a Sommelier). Their beers on tap were great too. There are a lot of new places opening in Reno, and the Big Horn Bar and Grill should be top on your list to visit. I’m super impressed!

Hey, this place has new owners, it’s been remodeled, and has a new menu. Everything is made fresh! New beer selection too. The best fries in town! The grilled cheese is made with 3 cheeses and it’s awesome. So is the Grilled Chicken Caesar. Can’t wait to try more items on the new menu.

Once in a while you see something impressive… i popped in for a cooly pop while my pizza was being«hand crafted» next door… Basically uneventful, blah blah, But what motivates me to post is the«chef»(meant with respect) was done, shift is over. His kitchen is shut down. He’s heading out the door… Random dude rolls in– total overlap– but Big Horn chef offered to stick around(come back on) and make this dude a sammich’ THAT is impressive service!!! I’ve never ordered food here, but I have watched the man work, and he runs a clean kitchen and what he makes looks good.
