Seriously AMAZING breakfast place. This restaurant is owned by a very hospitable family and they go out of your way to deliver the best service and delicious food. Definitely try the California Egg sandwich and the pancakes. These are our ultimate favorites. The dishes are presented beautifully with fresh fruit too! They even gave us a complimentary piece of cake because our parents were in town!

After paying a visit, I’d like to address some issues people brought up.
Location: yes, it’s not the nicest part of RWC but it’s on Middlefield near 5^th intersection so if you are going for breakfast or lunch you should be totally fine — Just like you wouldn’t complain about Brenda’s being in the heart of Tenderloin.
Food: yes — it’s nothing special, you can always make your breakfast sandwich or huevos ranchero at home. But what’s the point of eating out then? I gotta say the California sandwich is awesome, definitely one of the best ones I’ve tried.
Service is super friendly, they are pretty short staffed so when it’s busy prepare to wait 15 mins for your food. Will totally come back !

I saw the Unilocal reviews for Martin’s and was excited to try this place, but I left feeling very underwhelmed.
Location/​Atmosphere: ³⁄₅. This isn’t a «dangerous» location. I think the phrase some people are looking for to describe this neighborhood is «working class.» Or perhaps «predominantly Spanish speaking». But that doesn’t equate with dangerous, FYI. The restaurant itself is unremarkable in terms of interior and décor.
Service: ⁵⁄₅. Great service, I left a large tip.
Food: ²⁄₅. Very meh. I could make a better breakfast. Nothing bad about it, but nothing particularly impressive. Hash browns were pretty good, though.
Overall: Glad I tried this place, but I don’t really understand the hype.

A hidden gem. One of the best breakfast I’ve had. Great customer service, really clean place. Makes you feel right at home. And the food, where to start, the fruit is fresh, pancakes fluffy and devine. Eggs and hash browns season to perfection. Honestly skip the line from those crowded places, and come have breakfast here.

Amazing food, amazing service! Very simple, fresh and high quality dishes! The tiramasu was epic! Definitely will be back!

Martin’s is located in a not so nice neighborhood of Redwood City. I would definitely not go out of my way to go here. The surrounding neighborhood feels very dirty, and there is no designated parking lot for this restaurant. You have to park on the street.
The interior of this restaurant also feels like a greasy spoon. Definitely very casual.
I got some chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon. I thought the pancakes weren’t bad. They were a good size and had a decent helping of chocolate chips without being overwhelming. The bacon was very crispy and I like crispy bacon, so I was pleased.
Prices are reasonable. The menu selection isn’t very large though, whether you go for breakfast or lunch. Lunch was mostly sandwiches.

All the 5 star reviews are extremely deceiving.
I appreciate the efforts of a small, family-​owned business. However, the 5 star reviews set the bar really high and will lead to disappointed customers more than anything else.
Came in around 11:00 on a Sunday because Squeeze In was busy. For such a small place, we waited awhile for the one waitress to take our order and waited awhile for our food too. The selection on the menu is extremely limited. A lot of reviewers were commenting on how clean it is — is this just in comparison to the area of town it is in?
We ordered the cheese omelet and a stack of pancakes. It was all edible but the portions were not as large as described by other reviewers and in no way worth 5 stars. The prices are decent but again the food was not «amazing». It was very average if anything. Took longer than it should have to get our check too, which was on the waitress’s iPhone.
Point is, we came in with high expectations considering the reviews and were disappointed. The reviews might get people in the door, but forget your tips and forget repeat customers.

Ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was quite large, crispy, and tasty for only $ 7!
Unilocal says they serve breakfast & brunch but I didn’t see anything other than a lunch menu.

Where to start?
Martin’s has delicious food from the breakfast to their lunch. I have tried their burgers, pancakes, waffles, chicken sandwich, and other things on the menu.
Martin’s also has a nice presentation when the food is served to you when eating in, which makes it that much more appetizing. The dessert is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend coming here for a quality clean meal. You won’t even disappointed.

We just had finished our Friday Work lunch and ordered from here and our food was very good. I ordered a tuna melt with fruits and it was delicious :) Our Office Manager also said that like many of the Unilocalers before, the family was very kind. Will try this place out sometime outside of work.

This place is very good and I would come here again. We got the french toast and an omelet. Both were very good.

Little restaurant which if difficult to see but it is open, so go inside!
Awesome burger and fries! Great to take a break from the local Taco spots and get some other great food, staff was excellent too!

Holy goodness. We walked in to a completely empty restaurant. My grand parents weren’t feeling as adventurous as I, and they shook their heads in worry as they looked at the empty tables.
Our waiter was attentive, genuine, and passionate about the menu. With the servers guidance, grandpa ordered the tuna melt, grandma ordered the quesadilla, and I got the chicken Caesar wrap.
We each received salads «on the house for your first visit». The salads were fresh, crisp, and perfectly dressed. Off to a grade start, the grandparents definitely were impressed!
Our meals came, and Wow!, we were impressed just by the sight and size of the plates. Perfectly seasoned, fresh, huge portions. Our meals were absolutely amazing! Such good food! Wow! Why isn’t there a line down the street to get into this place?
And, to top it off, as we were finishing our meals (what we could finish– we each took leftovers home), the owner/​head chef brought us his homemade (with lots of love) cheesecake! Holy amazing! Best cheese cake I’ve ever had! Wow! Definitely a new favorite. I will be back!

Omg!!! This place is great! Brand new restaurant. Small, perfect for families. AWESOME good. The cook is great. All fresh ingredients, oversized portions. Be patient cuz they are just getting started. You’re patience will be well worth it. The make the best banana pancakes! And they’re hamburgers are HUGE and wonderful! I will definitely be back on Sunday with the rest of the family.

What a wonderful experience!
We were a little uncertain about the place before we entered as it was not in a very fancy neighborhood, but we were short on time and needed to grab a bite to eat before a doctor’s appointment.
We were pleasantly surprised to find the place was sparklingly clean and all the food was freshly made in front of us. the Martin’s burger were delicious, and the accompanying fries were perfectly cut and crispy. As for the fruit — it was fresh and sweet.
Service was excellent and at the end of the meal we were given a complimentary dessert by the chef — we unanimously agreed that it was the best cheesecake we had ever had.
Overall, a great meal for a reasonable price. We’ll be back.

Interesting to see a mainly American comfort food joint in the middle of where all the nest Latin cuisine is in RWC. Small, clean and seemingly big with the locals already. Got a solid philly cheesesteak style sandwich made with strips of NY Steak, cheese and peppers. Good seasoning, good cook on the meat. Comes with fries in wedge form. Folks are pretty nice and the prices are solid

Price is reasonable, very relaxed atmosphere, & I probably had the best sandwich I’ve had in a while here.
Perfect for brunch & lunch. I definitely would come back here again!
