Great service and food. We like the dragon roll and udon. A lot of parking space and you will need to wait during dinner hours.

My group ordered the special platter(5 – 6 rolls on a single plate) and it was alright. Or at least my group said that it was alright. You see, there’s a difference between an Asian saying that Asian food is good vs. white/black/brown guys saying that Asian food is good. THEN, it’s a whole ‘nother story when they say that it’s just alright. So from one Asian to the Unilocal community… trust me, feel free to pass on this place.

I don’t know what’s going for this particular Saturday, but all my reviews are 3 star and meh places. Maybe it’s because the guy chose all the places, haha! This is like a quick japanese fix joint. They have sushi and a million rolls, ramen, and udon. I was having a headache deciding what I want. Feels like all the rolls are the same except it has this and not that. I felt overwhelmed, especially when it was my first time there. My date knew what he was ordering already, so I took my time. I decided on this T-town roll, looked good in the picture. Also I ordered green tea and he had a sapporo. The sapporo came before my tea! It was as if they were picking the tea leaves in Japan shipping it to me. It was at least 15 mins for my cup of tea. My roll came out real fast while we waited 15 mins for his bowl of udon. He was in love with his, but I was okay with mine. The roll was a little bland for my taste buds, but the poke was delish(they topped the poke on the roll). Overall it’s a decent place to get some sushi fix. Although, it does get pretty crowded if you come at the wrong time. I think I was there around 145pm and around 2ish, it got really crowded.

I would say definitely hit at happy hour, there’s no question about this being the best spot for sushi then. I had two rolls and they were $ 9 total…$ 9!!! This place is close to my house so we frequent it often and the staff has always been incredible!

This place can be very yummy. I have had a couple of rolls here that were just OK but more often than not I am very happy with my food. It can get very busy in here, but that’s because the prices are so reasonable so not really a bad thing. Overall an enjoyable and affordable sushi experience.

The combination of the food quality, quantity, and speed of service really makes this an easy 5. It was pretty busy at lunch(dope happy hour prices) but we were served in half the time they promised. No complaints, will eat here again.

Love, LOVELOVEEEE! My go to sushi place when I am downtown. I mostly always order the half & half, dragon roll and rainbow roll. I tried the Chicken teriyaki today and it was delicious! Be warned you shouldn’t come around lunch time(12pm) it gets crazy. service gets a little bad around that time. The price is good and the food is great. It’s a small place but if you ocme around the right time you should be fine.

I come here pretty often for the lunch bento boxes. They are reasonably priced, and pretty fast. The servers are friendly and the food is good.

HAPPYHOURS. i have never found another sushi place that beats madfish. sushi is my favorite and i make it a mission to try other places that compare to madfish and I havent found many. there is something about their rolls that come out so creamy and fresh and they are usually consistent with the quality of the rolls. and the best part is they have a large time frame for their happy hour so its nice to go get tons of rolls for cheaper than most sushi places. I can always trust coming to madfish and the employees are so friendly. sometimes they offer free miso towards closing which is always a plus. my favorite is the orange blossom because its so fun looking and i love tobiko so i can control how much i want on each roll. the lion king is definitely a favorite that i love sharing. its a very unique roll that is so deliciously drenched in yummy sauces. ugh you cant beat it. definitely doesnt disappoint on the sushi front. their gyoza is dank as well :) will always be loyal to this place.

Poorly done ramen. Ingredients not so fresh. Sashimi looks like they used fast food knife to cut. Get what you pay for, or a little less. Just like all the rest of sequoia station.

Lunch deal looked reasonable. But some of the tempura was soggy, not crisp, and the«SF roll» was covered with some god-awful, icky-sweet, slimy mayo… eyarggghh! I didn’t want to see salmon go to waste and did my best to clean it off and ate it anyway… but seriously wish I hadn’t. The off taste lingers… horrors! To be fair they say«spicy mayo» on the descriptions of the rolls but this does not convey the quantity, and disgusting nature, of the said(disgusting) coating which completely ruins any and all traditional sushi components that it disgustingly adheres to. Do NOT order ANY of these rolls! The bowl of miso, when they placed it on the table, due to the rotation of its contents, gradually inched toward me on a film of moisture when I wasn’t looking. At first I wasn’t sure… but then yes it glided smoothly toward me on its own initiative, right to the edge of the table. Hmmm. One star for entertainment value.

I gave this place another try because a colleague wanted Japanese food. New addition since I last came here: tuna poke, tuna calamari For rolls, we ordered the mad fish roll, spider roll and one more other roll I forgot the name of but it contained avocado, shrimp, and salmon. The poke was pretty good, and I enjoyed the taste even though it lacked real seaweed salad. The seaweed salad had a weird taste to it and you could tell they used bad quality seaweed. It wasn’t really seaweed as you can tell there’s lots of dyes. It was also brightly lit green, you tell me. The calamari was good, and probably the best dish at this restaurant. You can’t go wrong with fried items. However the dipping sauce leaves a lot to be desired. While the sirracha aioli was ok, the other red sauce(sirracha based) was absolutely not okay. It tasted very odd. The rolls were ok. Quality is still as bad as I remember, with a lack of fish and tons of rice, loosely rolled and ridiculously huge. How can you eat a roll that’s like 5 inches big in one bite? Deconstruct it and is a mess of rice and sauce. I’m actually afraid to see what’s inside because all it was was tons of rice, imitation crab. Ew. It was not even a little appealing. There are far more Japanese restaurants you can go to in redwood city. This one has the convenience of size and parking in a plaza but the exchange of it for subpar below average«mall» food is hideously unacceptable.

It’s easy to over-order here! The individual sushi pieces are actually a lot bigger than a lot of the other places I’ve been to. For 2 people, we ordered 4 rolls and it was so much food! The discounted rolls make it easy to order a variety of rolls without breaking the bank. Food was delicious and the wait wasn’t long at all! Would definitely recommend. Come hungry!

Four stars for HAPPYHOURSUSHI! Lion king is REALLY good! The service is good, so far it is my third time(or fourth) and I never have to wait to get seated. This time I ordered the bento boxes because I always see people ordering those, but I didn’t quite enjoy it. I got the chicken katsu with avocado cucumber roll(bad choice). I think the condiment that came with the chicken katsu doesn’t go along… It was some sauce that tasted like soy sauce, but I think my box would’ve tasted 10x better with teriyaki sauce or sth yum… disappointed. I would only come back for their happy hour sushi. Not too bad and reasonable price!

I was incredibly disappointed with the service my girlfriend and I received at Little Madfish tonight. We are regular customers here, and I was appalled with the way we were treated. We arrived at the restaurant at around 9:12 pm. The sign on their door along with their website both clearly say that they close at 9:30 pm. I assumed, like every restaurant I’ve ever been to, that this meant that they stopped seating people at 9:30. This however was not the case. The door was locked when we got there, and a waitress came to the door to tell us that they were closed and only accepting to go orders. We had wanted to sit down to eat, especially since they weren’t supposed to close for another ~20 minutes, but we went inside to order to go anyways. We walked up to the counter where the manager was standing and we asked her what time they actually close and she said that they stopped seating people at 9:15…it was 9:12 when she said that! What kind of restaurant doesn’t want customers??? We were so annoyed by their rudeness that we left and we will not be returning. Don’t go to this place if you are expecting good customer service, you won’t find that at Little Madfish.

I’d been waiting to try Little Madfish for a long time — they have a huge menu of sushi rolls, so you can find exactly what you want. Service, price, and location are all good. We tried several rolls — the Love Roll, Bay Roll, California Roll, Spicy Volcano Roll, and Mad Fish Special roll, and we also tried the agedashi tofu. They’re open relatively late, their rolls are at a nice price point, and as mentioned earlier, there’s tons of variety(including ramens, curries, and more). Except for the Bay Roll, the other rolls were about average. Not terrible, not great, just somewhere right in the middle. The Mad Fish Special was extremely sweet, and the Love Roll was drenched in a cheese sauce. It’s a lot better than airport or grocery store sushi, but I’ve also had much better sushi locally. If I was in a pinch I’d eat here again, but otherwise I think there’s better options. That said, their happy hour seems interesting, and we only tried 5 rolls, so I’m sure there’s others I’d like just as much as I liked the Bay Roll.

This place is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in the bay area. My wife and I went here on a nightly date night and have never touched another sushi place around the area since. Little MadFish hosts every Friday and Saturday 9:30PM to close a Happy Hour special with reduced prices on rolls. I order the same thing each and every single time, Love and Lion King, usually mixed with either Crunchy Cal or Spicy Tuna Tempura. My wife and I have tried many things such as the Ramen as well as pot stickers. Every single item we get here on a daily basis rocks! We have even been coming here so much that 1 of the owner ladies that works here constantly comes over and checks on us to make sure that we are doing alright. Having been to Little MadFish close to 100 times now, I’d have to say only 1 time did I get an experience not at 100% to my liking. Warning as well, during the late night Happy Hour they play Music Videos from popular artists. A lot of people aren’t use to watching Beyonce shake her ass while eating some good sushi, which causes them to get pretty snobby real quick. I like the music videos and a lot of people who come their often love them as well! Keep up the good work guys!

Hands down to Little Madfish! I have to say this blew my wig back! I LALALALOVETHISPLACE!!! I have ordered here before but many it was something about the second time that really put the icing on the cake! I first had some of their good food as my work unit bought bento boxes for my birthday in October and let me say that the bento boxes are SO filling! I couldn’t even eat all of it and the price was so reasonable! Ok, so I was looking for a Sushi Happy hour and long behold I found this restaurant in the Sequoia station plaza! Parking was not bad at all! I got there at 4:15 P.M. and happy hour was from 3pm-5pm! I didn’t know what to expect but I didn’t expect a lot when I walked in especially after I seen how small the restaurant was(now come on Little Madfish you know you got some bomb food, you need to expand and stop teasing your customers). I put my name on the list and I waited. and waited… and waited…(Oh they were testing my patience) but I held on as long as I could especially after I seen that there sushi happy hour was cheap! 8 rolls for how much? Some were less than $ 7 dollars and I’m not talking about no cheap sushi! I’m talking about Philadelphia Roll, Deep fried California Roll, 49er Roll… I can keep going on and on! They had a great selection! I also got the seaweed salad and Oh Boy! Who would have ever thought if I put a little lemon on it that I was going to fall in love! Yummy! I was totally shocked that the food was this good for the price! I was sad that my belly could take in no more food because EVERYTHING on the menu looked so tasty and good! I am definitely planning to come back again! They really caught my eye with the great happy hour that they have! My favorite place in Redwood City! You now know where to find me after 4pm!
