So glad this location is closed and another burger place opened up. I’ve gone here multiple times and had terrible service and the food often over-cooked to nearly burnt. I like Johnny Rockets actually because of the nickel machines to play some old time tunes. Plus, I used to go to Johnny Rockets as a kid so it brings good memories when I walk into one. Oh and I like the shakes too(very classic). Every time I went here, I was hoping service & food would get better, but I would always leave wondering how they were able to stay open. Guess it finally was too much.

Since when do they serve burgers that are ½ the size of the bun??? I’ve been coming here since they opened and never had thus happened. I asked the manager and he said it’s always been that way. Uh no. Won’t be back.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. Service is poor. They changed the amount of fries they give you to a small order. They hand you a coloring book saying it’s a kids menu, when there is no menu on it. Plus forget to give you crayons. Seats are sticky and looks horrible with the so called cover paint job. Server comes over speaks really loud where you think you will go death. Leaves tab, walks off as we are asking him for a shake. Found a piece of hair in my bacon fires, server walks away before I can tell him that. Walks away twice. Gross! This place use to be a nice place to eat at. I will not be going back to them at this location.

Coming to Jonny Rockets for a shake is a great thing on a hot day. However this JR short changes you and doesn’t mix them. Big chunks of Banana in the chocolate banana shake, pockets of the dry mix. Then to top it off, remember when you could fill up your glass with the rest of your shake that was served on the side? Yeah well, get one here and it barely fills up the original glass. Come on guys, it’s not that hard for customer service.

I had the worst experience ever I went there to have lunch there, I witness the manager being rude to his cooks and server. He would go outside frequently to have a cigarette come inside not wash his hands and serve food. He walked by me, he smelled like an ashtray, I completely lost my appetite! How could someone like that be working there! I will never go back there. Ben the manager is not only rude and inappropriate. He is violating health and safety laws. I don’t recommend any of you going there. Milkshakes and burgers are great but knowing that my food is touched by a smoker who don’t wash his hands … I definitely don’t want to get sick. Or anyone else

Johnny Rockets is an awesome diner. Each table has a nickel jukebox with a lot of old tunes, and there is a good selection of shakes and malts to choose from too. The burgers and sides are delicious too! You can make your own burger and specify toppings, cheese, etc or you can pick from the many types of burgers and sandwiches on the menu. They even have Philly cheese steaks and Philly chicken cheese steaks if you prefer chicken to beef. I personally love the Smoke House burgers: hamburgers with bacon, cheddar, onion rings, and their special bbq-ranch sauce. Amazing. The sides are must-haves too: the fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings are all good. Johnny Rockets is a great place to get rid of that burger craving.

Great food. All-meat chili, good beef in the burgers, and the shakes are awesome. For a chain restaurant this place is up there with the best. I recommend the double smokehouse and dark chocolate shake.

Stopped for in for lunch… nice greeting and attitude from the server. Pretty good food and overall experience.

This Johnny Rockets location in Redwood City, CA needs some work; it doesn’t meet the company standard. Fountain 101, no fizz in the soda check the tank. Burger was over cooked and the service lackadaisical and unmotivated. JR fans should think twice for this location until it improves; there’s lot of alternate choices in the area.

Came in, was told to sit anywhere I like, sat, looked at menu for about 30 seconds, sat it down, waited 10 minutes. No service, no smiles, no order taken. Wrote this as a last effort at giving them time to do something. Left for food from the nearby Safeway instead.

I have nothing against Johnny Rockets and have eaten at other locations across the country. The food I’ve gotten has always been good and cooked properly. But this location couldn’t seem to get things right. I ordered a medium rare burger. Officially, JR won’t cook less than medium, but other locations seem to get it right anyway. And I wouldn’t complain about getting a medium burger. But what I got was extremely well done. When I told the waitress, she commented that they don’t make it the way I ordered. But I did’t get medium, or even well done. I got something way past well done. She mentioned it to the cook, and from what I gather he didn’t understand what the beef was. He made me another, only this time it was — extremely well done. Ironically somebody else at my table didn’t specify how he wanted it cooked and got a medium rare burger. It wasn’t just the lack of competence but the extreme indifference that bothered me. It was a weekday night with under a dozen patrons, so it’s not as if the chef was swamped with orders. I ended up leaving hungry with uneaten food on my plate. Considering that the waitress asked somebody else at the table if he wanted a box to take his leftovers in, that she didn’t ask me, and that I had a virtually uneaten burger in front of me, it must have been obvious to her that there was a problem.

Love’m. Always so tasty! Can’t do med rare, but that’s ok. Menu options are so awesome! Kids under 12 eat free m-w 4pm-9pm! You can get a movie meal deal. An entrée & soda or shake offers a discounted movie ticket. Smooth shakes! Love the music as well. Jukebox selections. It’s corporate, but I have fun. Our server Maria always remembers us and is always takin care of everyone. Jason the GM is a lotta fun. He gets his hands in there which is something most GMs lack. Not too proud to work side by side w his awesome staff.

I work nearby, so sometimes I dine here for a late lunch. I am trying different dishes to see if there is one I can rely on. Service is bad, slow refills for their flat sodas. Burgers are dry, bad smell greets you when you enter, fingerprints on the straw lid, the bacon on the burgers is too crunchy, I needed way more napkins(especially after the chicken sandwich spilled all down my front when I bit into it), Their chicken breast sandwich was good, if a bit spicy, it was nice and juicy. Their salads are typical, and they allow you to substitute for fries with their meals. They also offer cheap movie tickets when you order a meal($ 7.50). They have great malts and shakes, though, even if they are a bit expensive. I like that you can choose the music with little juke boxes at the table. I will have to do that next time because I can’t stand listening to 1970s disco music in a 1950s-style restaurant! I will keep trying their different dishes until I find one that I can rely on for my lunch break.

Belch. The food is filling but ordinary. The only relatively redeeming thing about Johnny rockets are the milkshakes, which are good but super expensive. The food is otherwise greasy and unimpressively typical American food. Even Mel’s Diner is a better experience…

This place has, hands down, the best milkshakes I’ve ever had. I know Johnny Rockets is a chain! Don’t get me wrong they all have amazing milkshakes but the ones here were out of the world!!! Holy hell! The food is awesome too if you accept that it is done in a certain style(namely over-greased Amurican all-bacn all-cheddar all-day). Good food at an affordable price. Also don’t be snobby and look down on the place just cuz it’s a chain I mean come on now everyone needs to get by in this fast and furious modern world and the Johnny Rockets establishment is just trying to bring us a lil piece of that ol’ fashioned slowa-paced livin’. I was surprised at how good my burger was. Ordered the #12 because it had pickles. Took forever for the server to tell me the difference between the burgers(we figured it out together) … The menu wasn’t that clear and he was clueless… didn’t even know how the meat is generally cooked. Maybe he is new? If so, some product knowledge training may be needed. The kid did have good customer device… no joke, stopped by our table every couple. minutes to see how we are doing. Over eager slightly. The burger: perfectly cooked medium. I like med rare, but for a joint like this medium is fine and it was juicy. Huge onion. Perfect bun. all the simple goods without complicating it. Fries were ok. They are limitless.

Review for a visit in January 2011. Brought kids for late lunch treat. Waiter came and took order. Seemed impatient as kids changed their minds about drinks… probably understandable, but as I was making my order, he turned to leave before I was done. He slapped the menus and writing pad on the table to finish my order. Usually good here, food is ok. Today’s service was a disappointment.

Had a craving for a cheeseburger and came here since I was in the area. Big mistake! The food is too bland even when you ask for spicy sauce, jalapenos and pepper jack cheese. How these additions can’t seem to add flavor to the food… I don’t get it. Fries were OK but needed salt(none on it). Best part of this experience was my root beer float and the waitress that seemed very nice. Service-good Food-very poor Drinks-pretty good
