I think this place is no longer as I dont remember seeing the last time I was in the area. THey did an array of dumplings and milk tea drinks that were ok. I guess the pod like retail shop couldnt maintin enough business from the foot traffic to the square.

This place a little of everything, they sell anything from hotdogs to tapioca, chicken chowmein to cocktails. interesting place. I came here to get some hot drinks. My friend go the hot taro drink and I got hot chocolate. The hot taro milk came out lukewarm, my hot chocolate was really hot tho. We asked her to reheat the taro milk but it was about the same.

I came here to get a milk tea tapioca drink. The ran out of tapioca and so I only had a milk tea instead. I got the classic flavor with ice and it cost $ 2.50. I gave the cashier a $ 20 bill and she gave me back $ 2.50. I had to remind her that I gave her a $ 20 before I got the rest of my change. She didn’t seem to do it on purpose but for a cashier, I expected her to know how to do math. As for the drink, it tasted ok. However, there were way too much ice in it. I took 3 gulps and it was gone. My cup was 2⁄3 ice and 1⁄3 milk tea.

This place is the absolute worst place to go to in Redwood City downtown. The staff is unbelievably rude(many people I know will agree). The food is gross, and there teas and coffees are stale and disgusting. One person I know who went there to order was given something other than what he asked and payed for… when he told them they messed up his order they told him if he wanted something else he would have to pay again… also they refused to give him a refund!!! Unbelievable how anyone would let this business run. Please boycott this place so we can have something decent and respectable in its place.

With a name Hidden Dragon Tea House, why are they making food items? Aren’t they supposed to be a tea house café? And where does diet pepsi go into watered down orange crushed soda? So until they learn how to take down customer orders correctly, my money is not being deposited at this place.

The only two places to get boba in downtown Redwood City are at Formosa Bento House and Hidden Dragon Tea House. The former only offers the milk tea and the latter has more variety. Both are not that good compared to real boba joints but if I had to pick, I’d pick Formosa. Recently I got the Taro Milk Tea with pearls from Hidden Dragon and it tasted as if there was 70% milk/cream in it. I didn’t drink more than 1⁄5 of it before tossing it out. They do offer random things like teriyaki bowls(I would just go to Bluefin down the street), hot dogs, and even happy hour. I can see this business flourishing in the summer as there is constant activity in the courtyard: dancing, jazz, movie nights, etc.

This is the third business to be added to the kiosks on courthouse square in Redwood City. Their biz card says: Asian Food/Bento Box/Pearl Drinks I decided to try one of their«dragon bowls»(your basic Chinese food + rice) during an event downtown. They had a decent variety to choose from, including chicken curry and kung pao. I went for the spicier Kung Pao chicken since it was a cold day. When they handed me my $ 8 bowl I actually said«Is that all of it?» before I could catch myself. I’m not usually so rude, but I was just so surprised by the very small portion. The food itself was fine, though I ate around all the hot peppers(until I noticed they were actually just very tiny versions of bell peppers). I can’t say I’ll be hurrying back for Chinese food here, especially with Crouching Tiger nearby, but I appreciate there is now a pearl tea option in Redwood City… Small victories.
