Great food, not the best service. This is a great spot as it is open quite late and located near the train station. Sometimes at night though the surrounding area can get a bit seedy. They serve delicious large portions with generous refills. You order at the register, leave a tip, then sit down to have your plate brought to you.

Had us waiting right in front of them for a whole hour after ordering and approached us to see if we had ordered… yeah, a whole hour ago. Poor service, won’t be back!!!

This place was awful! My friend and I came in for lunch due to the high reviews and were painfully disappointed I ordered a side fruit salad and it was disgusting. I ordered a turkey burger and it was subpar at best. My friend ordered a side of scrambled eggs and they weren’t fully cook. Wouldn’t recommend.

The tuna salad was 5 stars the sweet and sour chicken appetizer was a 3. I split the difference. If you want a great salad get the tuna salad with mandarins — super good and really healthy.

The place itself is 4-stars in my book but the extra star is to offset some wannabe foodie who would rate this place a 2-star and complain about the wine selection and how the salad fork is not chilled(there is a lot of them on Unilocal…) The good: — food is really good and there are signs that they are trying their best, from the seafood in the linguini(plentiful) to the nice grillmarks on the ribeye. Also, the portions are good which leads me to my next point. –great value. Generous portion + low price($ 18 ribeye). Plus, they mail coupons which I’ll be honest enough to admit that I used(why not?). –very good service. You have to order at the cashier and pay for your food first which I have a comment on(later). I asked the cashier about what’s good and she suggested the seafood linguini which is spot on. Checked on us during our meal which is rare for a pay first joint –nice little touches from the lemon wedge in the water to the well polished silverware which is a rarity these days. The bad: — I’m not a fan of paying for my food first then finding a table and waiting for my food. Its really just a personal preference. I think a traditional sit down and be served at the table is better not only for the customers but also for the servers because they will make more money in tips. Overall great value.

This place is great. It’s a nice café to come to for lunch or dinner, but they also have breakfast options that are available all day long. What always blows me away about this place is how quiet it is. It’s located in Sequoia Station right next to the Caltrain, and you can barely tell when the train comes by. Whoever did the noise proofing for this place deserves a medal. This is definitely a cool place to come for a casual meal.

Sorry Franklin Street — have to downgrade my review because recent experience was just bad. There were TWO tables occupied on a Sunday afternoon and our food till took almost 20 minutes to be delivered. What’s worse is that there was at least 6 additional minutes between the first and second entrees being delivered. Ridiculous since the second dish, a roast beef sandwich, was literally thrown together in 30 seconds by the guy who delivers the food to the tables(I watched the whole process). It consisted of a couple of thin slices of roast beef alone with lettuce and a tomato slice– even Subway puts more stuff in their sandwiches… Its a shame — I’ve been coming here for years but the service and quality have gone to pot…

Friendly staff. Tried the eggs Benedict. At least the hollandaise sauce Is not out of a can. I appreciate that they took the Extra effort to make from scratch. There should have been a hint Of butter to the taste, but sauce Was just ok. The sauce should be «To die for» as that is what makes Or breaks the dish. Most people have not had the real thing. So this will be a step up for them. The Canadian bacon was not Done enough. Rather tasteless. A lean bacon would have more flavor. The potatoes were cut too large So not enough spices but Easy to fix. Soy bacon bits would Be perfect on the potatoes. You can’t tell them from bacon bits But much healthier. The coffee was good but I had to Ask for a refill. I will be back as the owner is very nice.

We ejoying coming here for breakfast and lunch. We always get the coupons in the mail so I make sure to have one in my purse at all times. Its great for the kids because the train is RIGHT out the window. Nice outdoor seating for nicer days. The staff is so friendly. I like that you can order then sit down. Makes it nice if you want to meet people there but don’t want to split the bill. Food is good. always a variety of specials.

Been here several times. The food ranges from mediocre to good. I had some greasy«popcorn» shrimp that was supposed to be Cajun but bears no resemblance to the real article. One star for serving me wine in a glass with bar chlorine water in it, and then failing to give me a replacement after I complained-twice. Big thumbs down and a major fail.

Always pleasantly satisfied at Franklin! When I found this place last summer I swear I stopped by every 2 weeks especially for breakfast! Eggs, pancakes, scrambles, omelettes! Their potatoes are the best!

We catered with Franklin Street Café via a 3rd party vendor! Reasonable prices and huge quantities with great catering presentation. I only ordered a fruit salad personally — and it was definitely LARGE as stated in my order :)! The home fries looked delicious, and all who ordered were very pleased with the freshness and taste. Overall, great find. We’ll definitely use them again int he future.

Don’t let the humble exterior fool you. I mean, it’s a tiny café next to the Caltrain station, nothing alluring. But the salad was surprisingly fresh and tasty!!! Crisp spinach leaves, crunchy bacon, tangerines and a tart vinaigrette. It did not disappoint. The chicken noodle soup was also good, and tasted homemade. I would recommend the healthier options here like soup, salad and sandwiches. It tasted good and the diners seemed to enjoy themselves, including me! Not sure about the entrees though, didn’t see many people eating or ordering those.

Service was very friendly and the portions were generous. About average for breakfast food but the experience was nice because of how friendly the people were. Also, I am always happy when a place provides outdoor seating.

Ordered — breakfast croissant sandwich for delivery today and received a coffee dipped sandwich that look disgusting and not edible. My co-worker ordered a turkey bacon egg sandwich with NO tomato and all he got is a bacon sandwich with tons of tomato!!! Not coming back again :(

My Husband and I have eaten here 5 or 6 times Over the past year. The staff are super friendly and very attentive. The food which is served in generous portions comes to you hot and in a very timely manner A fav of mine is the salmon over veggies, this entrée is a full plate served with warm toasted french bread and a side green salad with a homeade champagne vinaigrette .(a must try) Also my husband swears by the cheeseburgers and Denver omelette. There is cute outside umbrella covered seating as well.

I came here with my hisband and daugther to dinner and my experience was very good! ;) The cashier was very friendly and he explain tomus very well, we ordered a small cheese only pizza, and the salmon entrée, both were very tasty and awesome! Salmon was better than I imagine, was with veggies on the top and with a lot of flavor, and that touch of garlic that my tongue loveee! Our serves was ok too, he was taking care of us like we were the only costumers he had. Finaly, for dessert we order the red velvet frappé, it was a Bomb! Definetly we are coming back!
