We went for happy hour and the raw oysters and clams were awesome — with Grey Goose martini:) Tables were full in the lounge so sat at the bar and lucky us saw the bartender set out a tray for server to take to table, it was shots of vodka with little raw oyster in the bottom! Intrigued, we inquired since it’s not on the menu and ordered for ourselves with lemon vodka. So good, we’ll definitely go back and ask for it again! Shouldn’t have order the sliced baked potato though, it was tasty — for cheese/sour cream lovers — but the potato was still hard in the middle. The bartender must have noticed it was mostly uneaten or heard we didn’t like it and took it off the bill without our asking. That was great service.

I love any place with a good happy hour! Everyone who works here is nice and friendly. Food is always above average. Good atmosphere for going out for drinks but not sitting in a loud bar.

Go to spot for a delicious dinner with a touch of sophistication. Oysters are fresh. Staff is friendly. Especially Kenzie :)

Had dinner here the other night with a few girlfriends. It was a fun spot, and the service was great. We had a flat bread appetizer which was delicious! I had a burger for dinner and that was tasty as well. I’d definitely come back for the appetizers and drinks, maybe order another entrée next time. We are thinking of making this a monthly stop for girls night!

4⁄5 stars for happy hour. Don’t waste your time with the regular menu. Tip: Go early! Happy hour gets really busy and they only have it in the bar/lounge.

If you have been to Matt’s and not had the oysters or rostisserie meats, well then it’s kind of like saying you’ve been to France but haven’t tried the wine. In which case, do yourself a favor, and go back. Our server guided us through the varieties and then put together a platter for us that disappeared about as soon as it came to the table. I don’t think there’s a better place for oysters on the Eastside. The rotisserie pork was the popular choice, and the rotisserie prime rib was as good as that sounds.

I was considering giving two stars and just couldn’t bring myself to do it. There was not one good thing about this place except maybe the atmosphere. It was pretty nice looking inside. We had a group of 7 for a birthday party tonight. The service was just plain bad. Our waiter took our drink order and someone else brought the drinks and we didn’t see him again for 40mins. No exaggeration. When we finally snagged him from another table behind us he was actually snippy about us wanting to order. WTF? Alright maybe he’s having a bad night, so we get our orders in. Another 30mins to actually receive the food. By this time we are all starving. The appetizers and mains all showed up at once. Keep in mind the place was only about half full so it’s not like the kitchen was slammed. Our food shows up; definitely nothing impressive. I ordered the prime rib dip and it was such a small sandwich. Put your two thumbs together side by side, that’s how wide this thing was. $ 15 for that and some fries strewn about to cover the rest of the plate. My wife had a salad with chicken on it. $ 17 for that. Mediocre at best. Some others had the $ 16 hamburger with waffle fries. It is just way overpriced for the quality and taste. So this was a birthday party, but before we even finished half of our meal the checks all showed up. We had to kind of push them aside and finish eating, then flag the waiter down for a dessert menu. They knew it was a birthday party, but nothing was done for that. Not that I was expecting a red robin song, but most places will put a candle in your dessert or even give the birthday girl a free dessert. Nothing. Overall just a really sad experience. Our entire party left very disappointed and they just lost 7 potential customers that all said they would never return because of it.

I do it know why this restaurant does not have at least 4 stars. The happy hour is AMAZING($ 1.25 great raw oysters). Their seafood chowder is the best I have ever had and I lived in San Francisco(I know good chowder). The nachos are also fabulous. We saw all the dinners come out and they looked to die for. By the time we left happy hour the place was packed. The bar staff was so friendly(we are knew to the area) it’s really nice to have that personal connection. You can tell when it’s a great place when there are regulars, at happy hour the staff new everyone! We will be back for sure!

Okay first, what major restaurant doesn’t take Discover card nowadays? My mom and pop Teriyaki restaurant up the street takes Discover. It’s a considered a major credit card now… welcome to 2015. Absurd. Next, I was so sick from the Matt’s burger. It’s a dark restaurant(at the bar you can’t even see the menu) so I didn’t see if it was under cooked. Stomach ache all night. We also had 3 different servers while sitting at the bar. Maybe they all split tips, but I felt like I had to increase the tip to be fair to all of them. But one of them only gave us one glass of wine. Too expensive for food and service.

Locally operated. Nice interior and kind staff. Over the avarage American cuisine. We had to ask at least 3 times for what we want as our server never remembers so it was annoying(water, cutlery missing for one party & side plate). We had a cheese flat bread as our appetizer. When there was one piece left, the server was standing beside of us and waiting for us to take the last piece of the flat bread, cheese, and roasted garlic on the plate instead of coming back in a minute. Also she asked us if we are enjoying our food right after she served each course so each time we had to say«we are going to have a bite now». In addition, she asked us if we want to take a look at the dessert menu before we finish our main course. She rushed us during our entire dinner so we were little bit stressed out. I enjoyed their food and vibe though so we will be back for sure. Hoping to get a different server.

I will not be back because I dislike the food too much. Not a fan of the food. The chicken was pasty… I don’t even know how that happens! There were a total of 5 green beans on my plate. The service was friendly, but we were sitting next to the kitchen, so we heard all the servers’ conversations with each other. I now know a lot about cross fit and how much each of them weighs. The hot chocolate dessert was really unique and tasted great.

Went in for Happy Hour. The bar area is great. There is a huge bar and there are quite a few tables for larger groups. We sat at the bar. Bartender was prompt in greeting us. We ordered the Seafood Chowder, Caprese Skewers, and Nachos. My husband wanted the bartender to tweak on of their specialty cocktails. She had no problem giving him exactly what he wanted. Our food came out very quickly. Love. Love. Love the chowder. It is creamy but not too heavy. The salad was fresh and light. The Nachos. Oh, what can I say… they are huge. Loads of chips, cheese, meat. Way too much for even two people to finish but we tried our best. Overall, we love Matt’s for Happy Hour. We will be going back.

I have been to Matt’s several times and always enjoy it. It is also a popular place for gatherings. There oysters are always good. This time I had the filet and substituted potato pancakes while my wife had the burger. The filet was excellent, good piece of meat cooked just right. The potato pancakes was OK(not as good as Jaks). My wife loved her burger(which are always good). Other dishes I have loved in past is the cambonzola flathead and salmon. Service can vary, not a great place to go if crowded.

Definitely worth the price for happy hour. I had a dozen of oysters(yummmmmmm!!) Fresh and juicy. Calamari was good, just perfect amount of batter, fried oysters was delicious and wing was great

Love the food, love the service. Unfortunately the décor looks like an episode of «Friends» threw up inside. Or maybe that’s mostly the ladies room, but good god the place needs an update. Seriously, the food is always good. Tasty seafood, fresh oysters, yummy steak and chicken. While the menu, too, could use some updating, the food quality is wonderfully consistent. I’ve also always been impressed by the service. I just wish, wish the place had a different vibe. With such good food and well-trained staff, and a full bar, this place could be so much more fun, and may well need to step it up to compete with the other restaurants in Redmond now.

Nope, I was gonna let this pass, but 3 hrs post consumption my symptoms got way worse and I’m convinced I got food poisoning from here. Some spoiled lettuce? Spoiled meat? Contaminated water? I have no idea, but if it’s up to the point that I’m writing this review while in the loo… well that says something. Now after saying that, the food and service quality is 4+ stars. First off service is wonderful, our waiter is very nice and courteous. He was very accommodating. I ordered the black n bleu burger, my friends ordered the peach ravioli, matt’s killer burger, and the chicken burger(had a different name, but forgot). There is a lot of seating and it’s a perfect place for lunch or dinner. The burgers here are really juicy and flavorful. Each has their own sauce, and are extremely dense. The lettuce/tomatoes are offered as a side and the fries are plentiful. So I enjoyed my meal. A lot. But if I’m risking food poisoning coming to eat here, I’m definitely not coming back any time soon.

This has been a family favorite of ours for years. We always receive quality service and kindness from their staff! The food has never disappointed either, I recommend… everything! The Caesar salad is even great, add on salmon and you will be floored. I love the steamed clams also, great flavor and delicious bread for soaking up the extra nectar. The bar is a great place for Oysters as the bartenders are very knowledgeable about what they have in fresh. Plus happy hour is there ;) I expected their burger to be good, but when i had my first bite, it was like all of the stars aligned and created a culinary miracle on my plate… it was awesome. One of the best restaurants and the best happy hour in the area!

Came here with a big group(about 20) after a long and tiring day of wine tasting. The all-pro staff handled our party like… Well, an all-pro staff. Water glasses were never empty, food and drinks came out in a very reasonable amount of time, extra bread was brought out without us saying a word. I had their halibut special, and it was great! You could tell the quality was there. I forget the name of the drink I had, but it contained earl grey infused gin! If you are with a group of people with varied tastes, keep this restaurant in mind. The menu is somewhat seafood-heavy, but there are plenty of sandwiches and alternate options as well.

My former employer had a party here. Not sure what the party was for, but since it was like couple days before my last day with them, I called that my going-away party: P A group of us had the back room. The cater prepared several different finger food and different options of beer, wine, and other alcohol. We had chicken & shrimp skewers, Nachos, Caprese, flatbread, meatballs… many other appetizers. All was great! I only had a glass of wine, which was more than enough for the day. Staff was friendly and the service was great. I’d like to come back and try their food one of those days!

We came here for a work lunch today and after hearing that this place is «so good» I had lofty expectations. If 3.5 was a choice, I’d go with that… I’m going with a 4 because we did have a fantastic time with mostly delicious food. High notes: Calamari — love the aioli Cambozola Flatbread — seriously one of the most delicious appetizers I’ve had Crème brûlée — super yummy! Relatively easy parking Great service Cappuccino Meh notes: Soup of the day — I believe it was creamy baked potato today — I expected it to be a little bit thicker and to have more potato in it. That being said it tasted pretty good. Rotisserie Pork Sandwich — a decent sandwich, but it was way to zingy for me. I did like that they gave extra sauce on the side, but it wasn’t really necessary. All in all, it was a good place to stop for lunch — as evidenced by both our experience and the lunch crowd. If I’m ever in Redmond for HH, I’d stop in for some oysters.
