My go to spot in Redding when here on business. All the food is really good and they have rotating microbrews on tap. Last week they had Wolf in the Weeds this week Luponic Distortion — plus many others. I’ve had wings, pizza, and burgers. All of it has been really tasty, you can tell they use fresh ingredients. Even some locals say the pizza is under rated.

Oh my gosh! Their Maxwell Burger! Amazing! Seriously, love the creativity that they bring to their menu and to this area… they have so many great options that cater to different tastes. Also love their Mini Maxwell’s, great atmosphere there.

Always a great place to meet up with friends for a drink and delicious food! They have an amazing selection of beers that will captivate any beer drinker’s interest. Check Maxwell’s out!

The best thing about Maxwells is the people who run it. It’s a friendly pub where you can sit at the bar and talk to people of all ages or you can get a table in the bar area or sit with a larger group in the back room area. But the food is also really tasty, with both the pizza and burgers exceptional. They also have several interesting craft beers from mostly west coast microbreweries on a rotating tap. And they’re into sports so you can watch a game there too. This is definitely my go to place in Redding.

Picked place based on positive reviews. Didn’t realize this is a bar that serves food vs a restaurant that has a bar. Food was fine and server was super nice — it just wasn’t what we were wanting or looking for — yes, could have gone elsewhere, but time was of the essence. Not best place if you have kids with you — but service great.

I was in town for a few days on a trip. Had lunch and ordered some wings with a mix of sauces. 3 each. Peanut Butter, Saracha, Buffalo, Chipotle and Volcano. I made my tasting in that order going up and all tasted awesome up until Volcano as after I don’t remember how food tastes as my mouth was on fire for the entire round. :-) I even shed a tear… and that never happened in Buffalo Wild Wings, and I’m a regular there. Had to stop by for dinner and try the a burger that same day with sweep potato tots. It was delicious to say the least. Thank you Maxwells, I will defiantly be back for more next time when I’m in Redding.

The food was great! We both had burgers and they were tasty and just what we were looking for! My husband tried the Maxwell burger with peanut butter — sounds weird but he said it was amazing! The pesto friends were awesome! We had an infant with us as we were traveling and the bartender/server was kind enough to let us sit in the other room(which was closed) as the rest of the bar/seating was full. Service was good and attentive despite us being removed from the main seating area. Seemed pretty busy for a Monday night!

My wife had the Maxwell burger and said it was the best burger that she has ever had. It is a massive burger. Must have been about eight inches tall. Has everything but the kitchen sink in it. Well worth the trip. They also have a big beer selection. One last plus they had the Giants first spring training game on the tv. Go Giants!!! BEATLA!!!

It’s a decent place to gather people and have a beer. Their half price burger Tuesday I believe is worth coming in, although I don’t think it’s a coincidence they only serve more expensive beer during that day and not your coors light stuff. For Redding, it’s a good place. Service is meh.. .

Just a quick trip up to Redding from the Bay area. Had lunch here and was pleasantly surprised. It was rated 4 – 5 stars and justly so. But I will say the service was slow(only had the bartender as a waiter — he was waiting-on about 10-tables, too). My SO and I each ordered the tortilla soup as an appetizer(then she ordered a cheese-burger and I ordered the club-sandwich). The soups took just over a half an hour. Yikes? But it was one of the best tortilla soups’ I had ever tasted/ate. It was pureed in texture and was steaming hot. My club was done nicely and instead of having 3-slices of sourdough(where you can’t even get your mouth around it), this was 2 slices of SD and you could easily get your mouth around it. It had all the ingredients as a triple-decker but not all the bread. Good sandwich. The SO’s cheeseburger looked good. She said it was an «old fashioned» made burger, not a premade one, so while it was round(in shape), it was a rough-round. The cheese had some zip to it too(probably a mildly sharp cheedar). Food was/is excellent. Service was slow(and not just the soup). With one person serving all the tables and the bar, they should have used another server/wait-staff? It was a brisk lunch, in that the tables were just over half-full. So, it did merit another wait-person. I would have given this 5-stars if it had been properly service supported because the food was that good(way better than most bar-foods).

Perfectly done wings! Pizza to die for! Friendly helpful staff. Better than«as good as it get’s». Perfectly executed beer pizza wings experience. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

A group of us used to hit Maxwells up once a week after work. The waitresses were friendly and took good care of our table. Since they opened a Maxwells on the east side of town, the downtown Maxwells has done nothing but go downhill in terms of service. With the boss man Cameron gone a lot now, the place has been left to a group of cranky females who close early on a whim and treat customers like a nuisance. Sorry but the last few times we have been there the waitresses have been rude and have closed the kitchen as early as 0830. If your open until a certain time stay open until that time. We have started going elsewhere. It was good while it lasted.

Excellent food, the burgers are my favorite in town. Awesome beer appetizers like fried jalapeño or pickles. Burgers are half priced on Tuesdays with purchase of a drink. The beer taps are constantly rotating, meaning a variety of craft beers to try each time you come in. They even do tap takeovers featuring specific breweries. I met the love of my life here, then three years later I proposed to her here. Lots of good times at Maxwell’s.

Extensive menu of your general bar-type food. Be prepared for the calories. ;) For bar food, it’s pretty delicious, with nice selection of burgers, pizzas and wings to hit all taste buds. As odd as it sounds with fried jalapeños and peanut butter, I have a special place in my heart for the Maxwell Burger. If you’re the adventurous type and those favors suit your fancy, make sure to check it out. Otherwise the Ortega burger is also very tasty. Also of note: one of the only places in town with tater tots. And they’re good. Perfectly crisp and just how you remember them out of Mom’s oven. Not a great place for kids(duh, it’s a bar). Super loud on Tuesdays when we usually make our way here for ½ price burger night. Oh my gosh the crowds too. Be ready for a wait for food. I love the massive list of beers on tap. Really too much selection for me. I always have a tough time choosing. But come’on, is that really a complaint?

The beer glasses were clean and cold. This place has a vey good beer selection for such a tiny bar. I had a Racer 5 and my husband had a Moose drool. They were both the correct temperature and tasted delicious. The bartenders were nice enough. This seems like a bar where everyone who comes there is a regular or maybe it was just that kind of night. I do have to compliment the bartender for telling one of the bar patrons to calm down when he started getting a little rowdy and yelling some story where he felt the need to yell F*** every other word. So that to me gave them another star. Great little bar to stop at if you like good beer.

Synopsis: Okay but nothing to write home about. There are far more interesting place to dine in the downtown area. Full Review: The atmosphere at Maxwell’s is that of a sports bar complete with blaring T.V.s and fellow patrons shouting to be heard over them. We went in for lunch so what I presume to be the dining room was closed off. Seating in the bar consists of tall tables with bar stools and one(thankfully unoccupied) booth. The menu offers some interesting options. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich with side salad and hubby went for the teriyaki pineapple burger with fries. Both were ok. but just ok. There was nothing special about it. Nothing that would make this a fight traffic, find the elusive parking space, endure deafening sports commentary because this is the best damn burger in town kind of place. If you are a die hard sports fan and enjoy using your outdoor voice inside, by all means stop in. Maxwell’s is fully handicap accessible when the dining room is open.

Looking for a place to eat around 9pm on a Tuesday in Redding is a bit of a task. We thought about going to this other pizza joint but when we pulled up it was dead so I found this place and the reviews looked pretty good. This place is located right in the heart of the little downtown area Redding. It was located right off of the Main Street and front row street parking was easy to find so I was a fan from the moment we parked. The place was decorated with some really cool art and they seemed to have a pretty nice selection on tap. They even had black butte porter, my favorite! So apparently on Tuesdays they have a deal where if you buy any drink, even a coke, you get half off burger. The burgers were $ 10 and up. We decided to get a pizza since that was on our mind from earlier. The pizzas were a little steep in price but ended up to be pretty good. We ordered half chipotle chicken half garlic chicken. The chipotle one had a nice kick to it but wasn’t too spicy. The garlic one was pretty good, not enough chicken but tasted good. I thought it was a little bland but my co worker loved it. Their red sauce made it all better. If you like dipping your pizza in sauce try their red sauce, it has a nice little spice to it. The music was good and the crowd seemed really hip, especially for little olé country town Redding. I’d definitely come back!

Must try foodie destination when you’re in Redding or passing through! The maxwell burger is one to definitely tickle your taste buds! I love peanut butter and this burger had plenty of it! Yes I said peanut butter! I was told they change up their menu at times and always looking to be inventive! Taste bud party in your mouth for sure! Oh… can’t forget the awesome rotation of craft beers! They only serve beer and wine but it’s no problem when you can pair them with their awesome food! Lastly… The owners and staff are friendly and really cool! Drop by… you won’t be disappointed!
