A really good place to hang out after 9 and get the appetizers for 50% off. Get a nice meal and mostly friendly people serving.
Nachos ultimate is a great recommendation!

Food was as expected, but food delivery was less than desirable. Not sure I will return there.

Not bad. Standard american grill/​Red Robin kind of place. Don’t expect amazing here, but I really like the appetizer deals. Happy Hour is also good.

We came in for dinner tonight and Anthony was our server. Let me say I would have never even written this review if it wasn’t for his amazing service. My husband and I are both servers in a restaurant and we know the importance of getting great service when dining out and it’s very few and far between that we get servers that go above and beyond to really do that. Our dinner was great as well and never had to ask for refills or anything, the manager was walking the floor and making sure all was going well and opened the door for us when we were leaving :) Just want to say thank you Anthony for the amazing service, we will be back and hopefully get his section again.

This restaurant is not worth to get even one star.
The waitress was the reason I gave a star.
My main dish was cedar Salmon. I asked medium rare, they brought a well-​done. My friend ordered pepper crushed sirloin steak. Rare! They brought medium-​well.
But with four small pieces, not enough for a meal!
Told the waitress first, later with the manager who gave us some discount! Feeling so ridiculed & embarrassed!

The steak was undercook twice… A1 steak sauce seemed water down. Staff not friendly to outsiders. Food seemed tasteless. Only one NFL football game on out of 6 games. Definitely my worst experience in 20 years of eating at Applebee’s.

I’m addressing the serving staff with this. We came in, were seated almost immediately at a very clean booth (no food or crumbs anywhere). Our server, Anthony, was at our table within a couple minutes. Wow! He is an awesome server! Seems so rare these days, particularly in chain restaurants, to find quality service. Anthony is ON POINT. Rattled off the beer list without batting an eye. Every bit of our food was brought out still steaming (and cooked to perfection… way to go, line crew!). Anthony truly is a shining example of what quality customer service should be! Thank you, Anthony!

service was excellent, our waiter for lunch was a 5star. All the staff was very friendly, but food was grosse!!! greasy. my burger seemed to be deep fried it was so oil, and the bun had been very buttered and grilled. ugh way too greasy! And my favorite dessert has been taken off menu for long time, the apple chimi cheesecake, that was the only reason i used to go to Applebees

Would like to say the only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of Ryan. I was in the hospitality business for 45 years and I was the king of poaching good employees. I would hire Ryan in a minute. When I’m in there I’m watching employees, not the TV. I guess is habit. If one man makes a restaurant it’s Ryan. Being able to make everyone feel as if they are the only customer is a gift. Thanks for a nice dinner.

The food at Applebee’s is what it is. It’s reliably the same at locations across the nation. However, tonight I dined at this location with my 3 kids (all over age 10) and we had an awesome experience. We were just passing through on our way north on I-​5. Our server, Brenda, was amazing! She was unbelievably kind and remembered our complicated order perfectly without writing it down. Get this next part, though… we shared with her that we were struggling to find vacancy in Redding hotels (whole town booked with firefighters fighting horrendous fires on all sides of Redding). She went in the back and actually called a contact she had at a local hotel to see if they could rent us a room. The hotel she called was booked, but how awesome is Brenda for caring for complete strangers in this way?

We used to love Applebees. The boneless wing were to die for. Now they suck. They changed the quality of the food. Not the same. We have tried several times thinking it was a fluke, but all their food is cheaper quality now.

BY FAR, THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE WE’VE EVER HAD! We ordered two beers and it took them 30 minutes to serve it to us. We order shrimp and steak parmesan entrees that we waited an hour for because the waitress dropped BOTH our plates. We were pretty over it by then, but luckily we still had our beers. Once that hour passed, we received our steaks, thinking it would make up for the time rotting in the booth, but it only got worst. The steak tasted like it was microwaved and the meat looked like that of a rotting piece of rod kill. I mean, the meat was GREY for goodness sake. The fact that they can’t give back the time I spent in the god awful restaurant, will forever haunt me for the rest of my life. So yeah, that’s all I have to say about that.

It’s an Applebee’s: What do you expect? If you like microwaved foods and domestic beer, knock yourself out.

I’m usually understanding with my reviews, if you look at them they are all over the board. I’m not dominantly hateful nor do I give out five stars all the time. I think I’m pretty fair.
That is to say, this place deserves one star LOL
it took all of 15 minutes for me to get… nothing ha ha Ha.
I walked in, I looked around and stood there for a minute, no one helped me. So I made my way to the bathroom… When I came out I stayed there longer… And got no help LOL. So I sat down to look at the menu to prepare myself.
Do you think anybody came over? No. In fact they avoided looking at me in the face LOL. It was one of those look over and see you and realize I’m stereo you, and quickly glance away moments… With several people LOL. Okay I get it you close one hour but I’m by myself lol. And it’s still an hour away. And there’s lots of people here!
So many people there mopping the restaurant areas that has tile flooring. which I can’t stand that they do that during hours because it’s dangerous and it’s smelly… I look at several people but they all seem to avoid me hahaha.
All I wanted was a quick bite to eat and I would be on my way. Isn’t that the easiest tip of all? A single person comes in to eat a very quick, small single meal, and you can’t even help him? Wow lol.
I had asked the bartender, who is too busy mopping the floor is and not even behind the bar lol, what I should do. He told me a hostess would be with me to seat me. I’m thinking really? When? Ha ha Ha… And after a few minutes a kid came up and sat me.
After that, that’s all he did, was he sat me. And say I did! Lol. After looking around and watching coworkers talk with each other or friends, I thought there was someone who was going to at least approach me. Nope lol. Not even a glass of water.
So you know what? After 15 minutes I’m over this place. I get at this point its now close to 45 minutes away from closing instead of an hour, but I’m a single person by myself and I just want 1 meal. That’s not too hard. Although an establishment that is a chain as large as yours doesn’t really care what flak you get on Unilocal,I’m going to blast you anyway LOL. Because no one seem to give a hoot about me and seem to avoid me the entire 15 minutes I was in the restaurant. I mean it’s not like it was two minutes it was 15 minutes! At least a hello and a glass of water… Something LOL. Wonder you have such bad reviews ha ha. NOT! Lol

Really Good service, pretty good food, OK prices and happy hour. Wednesday has «ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR» BUT it’s false advertising, it’s not all day it starts in the afternoon.

The food is DISGUSTING. But the customer service made up for (some of) it.
A friend and I drove from Seattle to Redding. After being up since 4 am and in the car for so long, we wanted something quick and relatively cheap that we could eat in our hotel room.
We ordered the two for twenty with Caesar salad, fiesta lime chicken and riblets. We were surprised by the salads, plenty of dressing, soft croutons and fresh, crunchy lettuce. That’s when things went bad. The chicken was mediocre, the rice was undercooked and dry plus the salsa was really hot. My friends comment on the riblets was ‘are these even meat?’
So I called the restaurant and asked for the manager, I explained and he apologized. He offered to remake our food, no thanks. Then he offered to mail me coupons but surprise! I’m from WA and this store is a franchise, not corporate. When he found out we were in a hotel he offered to hand deliver new food but yuck. Our appetites were ruined. So I asked for a partial refund since we did thoroughly enjoy the salads. He said he would give us a full refund for our meal.
Bad food. Good service.

Came here after spending the night in Redding on a roadtrip. This place was right across the street from our hotel and being later in the night, we didn’t want to go far. Our specific waiter for the night was awesome! He was on top of everything and very friendly. My boyfriend and I did the 2 for $ 20 deal where we shared an appetizer and 2 entrees. It was a great deal and we were so full we even had left overs. Appetizer from 9pm to closing are half off! A great deal! The food was very good that night — it may have been because we were also hungry from hiking all day. Either way, the deals here were well worth it and portions were pretty generous!

As an update to my post of 29 June. The assistant manager called to apologize and say she would hope we would give her restaurant another try. To encourage us to do so, she would send us a gift certificate and asked how much we had spent there on our visit, which was $ 69.25. Well the gift certificate arrived yesterday (July 9) and was for $ 10 and expires on July 13, 2014. Talk about insult to injury! I mailed copies of everything and the gift certificate back to corporate headquarters suggesting they retrain more than their servers. We will not be going back to ANY Applebee’s ever again. If I could post this with no stars I would.
As a follow-​up, a Timothy Knox, who claimed to be the new manager contacted me in April 2015 via Facebook, where I had shared my review, to say he had taken over the place and was trying to contact all people that were dissatisfied and send them gift cards to get them to come back and see the great changes. He stated he was sending a gift card for $ 100. I gave him my address, it’s now nearly November and there still isn’t any gift card. So either their business practices haven’t improved or the person who contacted me claiming to work for Applebee’s was a fraud.

My friend and I decided that we needed a place to go to kill some time. So we decided on Applebee’s because it was close to our destination and we just wanted some place to stay in since it was really hot outside. We only ordered the sampler appitizer and a couple of drinks. The appitizer was decent for us and the service was great. The lady got us refills on our drinks and checked on us to make sure things are ok. They have a bar in the middle of the restaurant and a bunch of tvs for sport games. Maybe someday I will try a main dish.

Ordered food to be delivered by Entrée Express — when it got here I couldn’t believe what I received for my son’s chicken fingers and french fries. They were the most pathetic looking plate of food ever and only came with two shriveled chicken fingers. However his milkshake was huge.
All-​in-​all I will not be ordering from them again, even Lumberjacks is better.
