I actually hate having to post this review because I really like Lulu’s. I recently went there and had an awesome experience.(see previous reviews) Don’t know what happened, but this time it was not good at all. Maybe they had a backup cook or something? It just was not good at all. I went there on Saturday 02/27/2016 around 11:00 A.M. I wanted to try something new, so I tried the breakfast pork chops with country fried potatoes, eggs over easy, and a biscuit. The pork chops had zero flavor. They were in desperate need of some kind of spices. Anything. I put some salt and pepper to try to flavor them, but it did not do much to help them. They were coated with a thin layer of breading, but were completely flavorless and greasy. If that was the only problem, I could have over looked it. However the«country fried potatoes were barely fried at all. In fact half of them looked like they had never touched the grill. They were soft, so they must have been pre-boiled, however it was obvious they had no color whatsoever. The ones that did have a little color tasted like they had been sitting back there for a long time and they just threw some other ones in to fill the order. I couldn’t even eat them. My wife’s order was the same way, and she did not eat hers either. My biscuit was hard and crumbly. It was actually not edible. I like a biscuit that is hard on the outside and soft and pillow-like in the middle. This was nothing close. It was so hard on the outside that it was not really edible. The middle just crumbled apart like it was stale. The eggs over-easy were okay, but the edges were over-cooked and were like rubber. Once I peeled off the outer edges, they were edible. My wife ordered the California eggs benedict and it was okay, but the tomato and avocado were not warmed through, so it made the omelet cold and not very good, in her opinion. My daughter ordered the strawberry pancakes with whipped cream. The pancakes came plain. They had black marks on them from the grill not being properly cleaned, which did not look very appetizing and they also forgot to put the strawberries and whip cream on top. They did bring it out later after we brought it to their attention. All in all, it was just a disappointing experience. We really like Lulu’s and hope this was just a bad day. We will still go there again, but I will never have the pork chops.

This restaurant has gone downhill. It used to be wonderful, but today’s experience was awful. I paid a lot for a prime rib sandwich and got a sliver of fatty meat. My friend’s potato salad was terrible, the potatoes weren’t cooked enough.

What an experience eating at Lulu’s was! There was a sold out belly dancing event when we arrived for a late dinner. This worked perfectly because the lounge was nearly empty and we were able to sit, order and eat right away. I had the steak diane, which I’ve had at other restaurants, and this steak diane far surpasses any I’ve tasted previously. They were out of the filet, and asked if I’d be okay with a New York strip instead which was fine. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare exactly like I like it and the gravy is impossible to describe other than to say it was delicious. My husband had the chicken cordon bleu and it’s prepared more like a deconstructed chicken cordon bleu and it too was very, very good. This was our first time having dinner at Lulu’s and it was so good that I can’t wait to go back again. I did order a lemon drop — it was realy watered down {a lot of lemon and a very small«drop”}. The server asked me how I liked it, I told her — they offered to make me another one which I appreciated. I didn’t want any more to drink so the server took the lemon drop off the bill — which was really cool of her to do. Eating in the lounge is a fun, loud and vibrant experience. We really enjoyed it and will be back for more.

Lulu’s catered our work event and did a fantastic job. I was told they are the best in the business and that proved to be true. I would trust them with any size of event.

Theres an overwhelming feeling that you’re going to get stabbed while you enjoy your 7am cocktail. Quite delightful really.

This place is pretty nasty as far as food goes and very inconsistent. I was served a salad with wilted/turning red romaine lettuce and piping hot chicken on top of the cold salad.

Lulu’s hosted a baby shower last weekend for about 35 people. From start to finish Marci was incredible to work with. The facilities were nice and clean and set up very professionally. They catered the event and the food was delicious. The rate was very affordable as well. When shopping for a location for a large gathering I would suggest looking into Lulu’s.

Lulu’s has proven to be a solid breakfast spot in the past, if a bit pricey for what it is. Definitely better food than the Black Bear. The one thing that stood out most about my last visit was the hostile attitude from the server. She pretty much ignored us, I had to ask her for refills on coffee and water, and brought the check when we had just started eating. The restaurant wasn’t even that crowded. I’m not sure what her problem was but I’m not a difficult customer. I usually tip at minimum, 20%. If I’m going to eat at a restaurant I expect at least some baseline level of service and not to be treated with rudeness and hostility by the server.

What we really wanted was a Bloody Mary and Lulu’s had them. They had regular and tall versions of it and I thought it was regular and double, but the regular was a very small cocktail glass. And it was exceptionally salty. Overall, though, it was very good. I got the traditional eggs benedict and as you might expect, it was rich as hell. There was SO much hollandaise on it, it made the muffin squishy, but that’s how it goes. I don’t particularly LOVE Canadian bacon, so the almost 1″ thick slices on the muffins were a bit much for me to handle. The hashbrowns were exceptional. My partner enjoyed patty melt, but it was greasy. So was my food. That is really the only part that stood out as a negative, but it’s diner food, so it did it’s job. The service was good and the coffee was fresh. Redding is depressing, so I doubt I’ll be back, but I do recommend it if you’re looking for post-boozing food.

So… We live in Oregon and we where on our way home a really needed to stop for a drink. We pulled in the parking lot and holy hell this place looks like a bar from a rob zombie movie«so kinda scary» but hell you never know right ! It wasn’t date rapeish but seriously needs a remodel ! But as for what we can tell it was a local fav, glasses silverware and bathrooms were clean the garlic fries not to bad and drinks could be stronger but overall could have been worse ! As an out of towner I doubt I will go back but for locals whom have been parting all night ok drinks and good greasy food fuck yay for u

Ugh. Food poisoning once more. Last time the wife didn’t believe me, she got sick too. This time my son also got sick. Unfortunately my in laws love this place and I can’t avoid going. But that doesn’t mean I have to eat! I guess I will still go but won’t eat any food. In 15 years that makes about 10 food poisonings. But, they do pour a stuff drink!

Stopped in for breakfast and a break from our travels. Simple café, so we didn’t have high expectations; however, we would go back for the chicken fried steak! It is real… not a frozen patty from Sysco dropped in the fryer. We also had the waffle. It was little tuff on one side, so I wouldn’t order it again unless I specify the extent of its doneness. Definitely a local’s place… we were the only table the server didn’t know by name.

WOW! Where else can you get a Prime Rib sandwich that is a full cut of Prime Rib just like is served as a dinner? It is to die for and I highly recommend it to any carnivore to try and enjoy. The atmosphere-décor could be updated but has nothing to do with the food they serve. I have had numerous menu items and have yet to find fault with anything, it’s that good. Price is very reasonable, plus support your local establishment that buys locally too.

Best place in town for breakfast. Chicken fried steak is real meat, not a frozen patty. French toast sandwich, Monte Cristo, and Eggs Benedict are some of my other favorites. Quick and friendly service, I don’t know what other reviewers are talking about when they say«slow service».

This is my favorite place to eat in Redding. I like the friendly people and all the locals who frequent often. It’s a little piece of Americana in my opinion. My favorite meals are the Monte Cristo and Eggs Benedict. I’ve been eating and socializing here for 30 years and have never had a bad experience.

Just like some other people said who had found this place through Unilocal — I am not sure who submitted good reviews, must be locals. In fact, when we sat down, a table next to us was in shock and started asking how on earth we ended up in that place because it’s truly a **hole in the wall next to some very shady motels. Food was average I guess. Nothing spectacular, very bland just like other reviewers mentioned. Be prepared to pour a lot of salt and hot sauce on everything. No, we did not get food poisoning like many other reviews suggested so I guess that’s good. The worst part was waiting for 30 min for the service for simple scrambled eggs and it wasn’t that busy. All in all this is the case where Unilocal reviews are very misleading as it often happens with small towns.

As good as it gets! It’s been two years since my first review, and this place has grown on us. Most recently we discovered the raw oyster shooter. $ 2 each at the moment. It comes in a large whiskey shot glass with sauce. I’ve uploaded a photo of the shooter, and if you look carefully you will see the fresh, raw oyster wiggle. Ask for horse radish on the side. Reach for the Tabasco on the back of the table. Try not to order more than several or you may not have room for your meal, which of course should be a plate of fried oysters. OMG. Delicious. But then of course is the prime rib and the left over newspapers on the counter so I don’t have to talk to my wife. I think I should stop writing at the moment. She is coming into the room.

Went here after postings on facebook advertised visiting Dueling Pianos. They were quite possibly the worst Dueling Piano show I had ever seen. So, that doesn’t bode well for the establishment who booked them. Plus, the show was in a convention room or something in the back and it was pretty awkward. There was a wedding party going on and I felt like I was intruding on a private party, although the bride & groom were very welcoming. I just felt like maybe they should have had a staff member back there. Sat at the bar after I couldn’t take the show anymore… Bartender was SUPER busy and although he wasn’t *that* slow, he wasn’t overly friendly either, so I didn’t really enjoy my time there. Again, at the bar, felt like I was intruding on a private party and I wasn’t really welcome. On a good note, I tried their stuffed mushrooms and they were fantastic, so if I ever go back, it will be for dinner, not just drinks.
