I don’t get it, noisy, good just ok, Bayside Steak house rocks compared to this joint!

Kelly’s is amazing! Been coming to Red Wing since I was a kid and they always have my Grain Belt cold and ready for me, draft or bottle! Thumbs up guys!

First time in Redwing. Doesn’t seem to be many options for this type of place. Decent selection of beers. My server immediately knew what a session IPA was. I had the chicken quesadilla. I think the shredded chicken comes from a bag/can, but it was good enough for bar food. Servers were friendly and attractive. As in, MN attractive, which is the best attractive there is. Sorry, maybe shallow, but it’s nice to have a server with a good disposition that cares how he/she presents him/herself. If this place put some effort into food quality/prep, it could be great.

This review is more about the customer service /mgmt. than the actual food, which was edible/average. The waitstaff/kitchen was incompetent and inconsistent — they had 3 – 4 random people that would walk up but then not be able to take our orders or know how to answer questions, let alone having them actually wait on you or deliver the right drinks or food in a timely manner. I ordered a BLT, which wasn’t on the menu but simple enough, since you could literally add bacon to any item on the menu including a pbj. First, they didn’t have the right bread, and subbed for another kind, then came back and said altogether they couldn’t make it. Really?! They gave a drink a coupon, but after we already ordered beverages and we were all driving. Then my brother’s choco milk was rotten. We were able to beg them to give us wings instead of the drink coupon because my brother originally wanted wings but couldn’t order a custom amount — the menu says .99/wing but in small print you have to order you have order 6. In the end, they only gave us five wings but of course charged us for 6 minus the odd change of the coupon… Everything extra is an extra up-charge — e.g. pickles were .50 for 4 small pickle chips, did not even mention the up-charge. The saddest part about all of this is that this place is probably seen as one the only acceptable restaurants in Red Wing… I guess subpar service is the standard in this town?!

Great craft beer selection and a big menu with typical bar food left me happy and full. I enjoyed a burger and fries and was pleased to see they had quite the sauce selection including many made in house.

Good burgers, great fries! I go here for lunch every once in a while. The service isn’t wonderful, but it’s good enough for a bar. The view is nice if you’re able to get a good spot.

I wish I could give this place a 2.5 star, but that’s just not an option. This was my wife and I’s first stop and there were some good things and some bad things, but definitely room for growth. After asking a neighbor about this place, we went with some recommendations of theirs, but I think I would need to give it one more shot to see if anything would change. Sign said to seat ourselves, so we went for a patio spot on a beautiful day that we had. As soon as we sat, it took a bit of time for someone to approach our table and assist us and it wasn’t very busy either. Ounce we did get a server, we were able to order some ice cold adult beverages — Kona Longboard and a Sam Adam’s Cherry Wheat. We also ordered our first recommendation from our neighbor, the Burnt Ends Appetizer. These bad boys are the ends of their smoked brisket and served with your choice of sauces. We went for the a berry purée and the house made BBQ sauce. Both sauces were delicious and definitely worth ordering, but not all that big for what you pay for. As for the main plates… Well lets get to those. My wife went for the broasted chicken while I went for a pork belly burger. Lets start with the better of our two plates, the broasted chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it had a really good seasoning to it as well. I’ve tried a lot of broasted chicken and Kelly’s is up there. I’ve had better, but it was delicious. But, since it’s chicken… There really isn’t much else to say… As for my pork belly burger(and another recommendation), Nothing to brag about at all! The burger was pretty boring and bland, I’ve had better pork belly elsewhere, but the addition of the gouda cheese was a smart decision. Another smart decision was the pretzel bun to help with just how boring this burger really was. I have a dozen other places Id rather enjoy burgers at… They have quite an extensive list of brews on tap, including Minnesota brews, but like too many other taphouses, not enough variety. You’re probably wondering how there I can say such a thing after just saying they had an extensive list. Well, having mostly, heavier ale’s and IPA’s isn’t very diverse at all. They had around 30 plus brews on tap and I would guess that 80−85% of the selection was nothing but these two options. If we do happen to go back to give this place another shot, I’m really not sure what I would order, but I’m hoping it’s a better experience than our first. Really nothing to brag about, but than again, there really isn’t much in Red Wing to brag about in general… #knowbeforeyougo

Seriously 61 beers on tap! Excellent view of the river and the passing trains. Happy hour specials whenever a train passes. Bathrooms are clean and well decorated also. We stopped in on Easter so they only had a limited menu available. Otherwise pizzas and usual bar fare.

Was not happy with the service at all! We called several days in advance to let them know we would be stopping in with our hockey team for a late lunch. All the hockey players sat at one table so I tried to order food for my son so he could eat with his teammates but the waitress said I had to wait to order for my son with my table, what??? Non of the adults were sitting with the kids. Needless to say all the players food came but my sons & another kids did not. Asked 2 different times where his corn dogs were, staff seemed to be oblivious to the question. Our food also came last at the adult table. The nachos were cold, cheese not melted. My son never got his corn dogs bc we had to leave for the next hockey game. Our nachos came as we were leaving & we got the bill & was amazed that they had the nerve to charge us for the nachos when we couldn’t even eat them. I thought the staff was rude & could have been much better prepared to handle our group. I always leave a tip even if food/service was bad but I did not leave anything for the waitress bc she wasn’t even apologetic.

A great amount of food and a very large selection of craft beers on tap. He service as good and we came in 15 min before the grill closed. The food was better than bar food and what you can expect for the price. Well done!

I tried Kelly’s again on my second trip to Red Wing. This time, I had the Garden Veggie Burger with a slice of locally-made sharp cheddar, and housemade kettle chips. The veggie burger arrived on a big fluffy bun, with a thick slice of melted cheese on top, and an array of burger accoutrements(lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc). The kettle chips were warm, crunchy, and delicious. I liked them a lot better than the beer-battered fries. I’ve tried nearly every non-chain restaurant in Red Wing, and this one remains my favorite. Great servers, fast service, and good food.

This place is still going strong on my second(and third) visits, a year later. The list of beers on tap remains diverse with a solid rotation. Staff is super nice, and are quick to recommend a beer if you select one that is no longer on tap. I read another review to get the Pork Belly Burger — get it! My niece is vegetarian and she was pleased with the Walnut Burger. Fries and onion rings are nice and crispy. The sweet potato tots were OK plain — I would definitely get them with cinnamon + sugar, if I were to get them again.

The walnut burger was amazing. A must try if you’ve never had one. The salads were also HUGE and full of toppings. No wonder this place is so popular.

Love the outdoor covered deck. Has a double gas firepit. Big screen Tv nice but its windy tonight & they need tie-downs cause the screen is blowing all over the place. Plenty of screens inside as well as plenty of seating also. Nice place. Food was excellent. Loved the burgers & especially the wings. Plenty of beer choices, plenty of craft beer on tap to pick from. Service was good & very attentive. Enjoyed the place. Prices were a little on the high side but not unreasonable. Nice view of the marina. Trains constantly roaring by right next to you. Ah! The charm & ambience. Recommend the stop. Worth ur time

Stopped there after golfing for a snack and a beers. The waitress was efficient and friendly, taking her time to let us try a couple tap beers before selecting one. We had appetizers only, the onion rings and the burnt ends. The onion rings were very crisp, and might be the best I’ve had. The burnt ends were spectacular! Extremely tender and juicy, very flavorful. I would order both those items again.

Pretty nice bar. With the name Kelly’s you can’t help but think about a pub feeling Irish bar but this is nothing like that. It’s actually clean and well updated with big screens and newer furniture. There’s a large open area with the bar when you first walk in and a big patio right off the street. The booths in the bar sit up against large windows looking toward the Mississippi River and boat docks. One thing that was cool is the train tracks next to the building, the back part of the deck and those windows looking over the river are about 50 – 75 feet away. It was kind of exciting when the train came through, the bar is close enough where you can feel it shaking. Food was good here too. I got the Brent’s Special, a burger with spicy mayo, pepper jack and a beef sausage split and laid on top. Cajun fries were awesome, they had a lot of other choices for sides too, fries, tots, cheese curds, onion rings and all sorts of seasonings for them. My buddy had the broasted chicken and said it was really good too. I think they might be popular for brisket, chicken and other bbq, it was featured on a special and the menu. I’ll come back next time I swing through Red Wing, did I mention they have pull tabs?
