Very rude service, party of 6, ask to drink my bottled water outside because I didn’t buy it there. Guy was slow and rude. Food was average, but better than the service. Serving sizes are very small. Pricey for what you get. Would look elsewhere.

This place is delicious! My boyfriend got the Café 28 special which is a mixed platter of different Greek foods, yum! I got a sub which was also really good. The man working here is so nice. Would highly recommend.

REALLYGREAT loved the food!!! The shop is a little small but I think it adds to the charm of the place. Really great prices for the amount of food you get and it really is delicious. Tired falafels for the first time and really loved it. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Conveniently located on White Street in Red Bank. They have their own parking lot so it’s ultra convenient. What can I say about the food and the owner??? AMAZING! So sooooo good! So much flavor and love put into his food! I can’t say enough about this place! There should be a line out the door for lunch!

A friend of mine and I stopped by here last Monday, after learning only recently that this restaurant was in business for over 5 years… so we had to give this place a try as we love middle eastern food. My friend ordered Falafel platter and I ordered Café 28 Special. We were both happy and satisfied with our orders. In my Café Special, falafel was perfectly cooked and tasty; hummus and dolmas(stuffed grape leaves) were also tasty. Baba Ghanoush, I didn’t expect this as I was used to having tahini in it but was surprised to see this dish without tahini, but it’s got some other ingredients in it which was delicious and both baba ghanoush and hummus had a tad bit of peppery taste(cayenne, maybe) which was delicious. Pita bread was served warm. Everything was fresh and so good! Then the owner asked if we wanted coffee, at first we declined until he said he made his own secret coffee, so we decided to have it, oh my, it was delicious! Love the owner, he’s such a sweet guy and we will be back again! Lastly, I had to have baklava, to bring it home… oh my, it was delicious!

NOT just a sandwich! I had the hot pastrami and it was fantastic! Great quality ingredients and something in the toppings; very unique and great flavors. Natural foods with the owner’s mission of serving his customers what he loves eating! Prepared by a true international chef! Nice espresso and Mediterranean goodies. A+!

Wow! This is good, tasty, fresh food at a deli! My wife and I ate here on a spur of the moment decision supported by the five-star Unilocal rating; and we were not disappointed. It’s primarily a carry out place and has only has three, two-seat tables and one small, four-seat, bar height table. We ate in. I had their«Café 28 Special» platter which offers a nice variety of their Mediterranean food including Babaganoush, Falafel, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, and a few other tasty treats. My wife had the«Eggplant and Hummus Platter»; it to was very tasty. The eggplant is sliced thinly and tastes delicious as was the best-ever Baklava and Turkish coffee! Besides good eats, the owner is warm and welcoming. This place is a decent 40 minute ride from our home but we will be coming back regularly. Five stars is a high rating but based on our first visit, this place deserves it.

Owner is a very nice man. But seem to neglect the quality of food. As said previously his food is prepared in the microwave and falafel is terrible and made in advance. If u want fresh food don’t go here. Not sure how these reviews r as high as they r either. Owner could do very well just needs fresh good on the spot and no pre made dishes that’s a quick turn around

Warmly greeted by the friendly owner, interested in where I am from and how I got there. Food was freshly made, and had plenty of flavor from fresh herbs and veggies. I ordered the strawberry juice, and was a little disappointed when it arrived pack with ice and topped with whipped cream. However, it was not too sweet and was delicious. I am looking forward to going back, the salads sound really nice. He also offers snacks, cookies, and candies… And there is parking on the side of building for Cafe28.

A very tiny local restaurant with friendly environment. The food was very good but definitely not the best mediterranean food you could get in NJ. We had a gyro and a special platter, the falafels were not coherent and on the first touch they would decompose to a few pieces! Babaghanoush and dolma were not tasty enough. Over all we are happy with the food and service, and may go back again.

Really tasty delicious food. Impeccably clean establishment, great service, Mediterranean /middle eastern specialty foods and american classics. Reasonably priced. The hot chicken salad with almond & feta on a pita($ 6.95) with added special sauce was delicious,(this coming from someone who is not a sauce person), the lamb gyro on a pita with tsaziki sauce($ 7.95) and the gyro and hummus platter with mixed greens(($ 9.95) were very fresh, tender and equally delicious. We also had the hot salab which is a thick, foamy, sweet, milky drink kind of like a steamed latte but thicker, with cinnamon and specific to the Middle East. My kids loved it and everything I ordered… Mohammad is precise, quick, expert in everything he creates for you and takes great pride in the quality of the food he presents. This is a business owner who is doing an excellent job and should be noticed… We will certainly be back again.

I’m a little late with my review, but my mother and I popped in a few weeks back after doing a staging job around the corner. This place is a one man operation, but like they say«if you want it done right, do it yourself.» I don’t exactly remember what I ordered, but my mother got a tuna wrap which she really enjoyed. We had noticed a sign stating that they served tabouli. So good! It’s always fresh, made to order. For weeks afterwards, every time I talked to my mother she told me she was craving some more tabouli. Afterwards I decided to get a sweet(looked like shredded wheat, but flavor wise reminiscent of baklava) and a Turkish coffee. At that time we really got the time to talk to the owner. He seemed like a very honest, hard working guy and I’m happy to see his restaurant doing so well. I look forward to the next time I am in the area. Maybe I’ll even be nice enough to bring my mom back some tabouli.

I have worked in red bank my whole life and i can’t believe I haven’t been here till this week. I’m a vegetarian and they have so many options and they are willing to change things around to suit your needs. They even have vegan options too! I had the traditional falafel sandwhich and the grape leaves sandwhich and both were AMAZINGGG! I LOVED it so much I got it twice in one week!

Stumbled across this place while looking for an early dinner — not only is the owner incredibly nice and friendly, but the food is INCREDIBLE. Had the falafel and hummus platter, even the side mixed green salad was delicious. Next time I’m in town I plan on stopping by again — a must try for anyone who enjoys Mediterranean food!

Small place: More of a take out deli setup but has tables & bathroom. I usually eat in. Mediterranean salads, falafel, hummus and really excellent marinated Eggplant. Good fresh subs. Wraps. Gyros. Falafel and hummus platter. Fresh brewed strong coffee. Been here more times than I can count. The owner Mohammad is always present and insists and making sure your happy; even if he has redo your order. Bathroom is behind the counter; just ask for access.

What a great find for lunch!!! Its definitely small and people are starting to realize how good it is, so get there early. The food is delicious and service is fabulous. So much to choose from, I had the falafel and hummus platter. The hummus is nothing like the store bought kind… its creamy, fresh and delicious. My husband decided on the Cairo Chicken after all the reviews here and it definitely lived up to the hype :-) Added a bit of marinated eggplant, yummy! Finished off our lunch with turkish coffee — unlike anything i’ve ever had, it was really really good! Next time you are in Red Bank, check it out!

Amazing! Mohammed is a professional! This place is a gem. Food is delicious and the service is fantastic. Grilled chicken is juicy and delicious. Everything is super clean and there is an incredible selection of chips and drinks. If you love quality food this is the place for you. Delicious and healthy… can’t go wrong. I will be back! Update: He makes special drinks… he just made Hibiscus peach iced tea with a bit of rosewater! Wow so refreshing. I seriously love this place!

Loved the food. The service was great and the price/quality of the food was awesome. It’s a small place and it’s absolutely a treasure in Red Bank. Will be visiting again! This café is a hidden treasure of Red Bank Not on the main strip of Broad Street and can easily be missed if you don’t know it’s there. The owner was very friendly and truly seemed interested in how i enjoyed my meal. He obviously an culinary expert! Don’t miss this restaurant in Red Bank!
