Never been disappointed with a anything purchased there. Great selection of model making and rocketry supplies. They host tournaments for Yu-Gi-Oh and a nice place for the kids to go and socialize.

Purchased a high-end quad copter form Hobbymasters. The staff was very knowledgeable, they allowed me to test drive their floor model which was awesome. They answered all my questions and encouraged me to call or stop in with any questions or concerns. They also have great youtube videos packed with info. Competitive prices, friendly service, that’s why I do all my shopping locally. Can’t ask for more than that.

We went in with a Bachelor as part of his bachelor party and told the staff about the game we had created. The staff was excited for us and we’re incredibly friendly. It looked like they had a decent selection of games including some fun ones we’ve played before. Highly recommend!

Primarily a hobby store with some games. A beautiful mural of possibilities decorates the store front. Model trains and Breyer horses they have in droves, their game selection was a little limited. I went to play board games on their Friday free play. It was packed with high schoolers playing MTG and Ascension(another deck building game). The players were nice, but alas there was no play on boards.

Always friendly staff is super available to your needs. Check out the trains upstairs to get a glimpse into a hobby someone is clearly passionate about.

Excellent hobby shop. The large 2nd floor is dedicated to trains and train paraphernalia. I never collected trains, but I always go up there to look around at the stunning collection. Bottom floor has board games, puzzles, strategy games, electronic cars, dice, binoculars, and so much more. The two places I always visit when in Red Bank are ‘Jay & Silent Bob’s Secret Stash’ and Hobbymasters.

I recently have become a fan of model trains as my 4 year old loves trains, so I become a fan. He loves going upstairs to see their model trains run around the track that they have set up. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I can remember when I was kid going in here to play video games, as the front of the store was packed with them. Well their not their anymore but they still have every toy that at kid could imagine!

If I could give no stars I would. After spending the better part of 45 mins on phone with salesman explaining how I needed a specific model plane for a project, he sent me the wrong plane. When I contacted back, the manager of the store offered to reimburse for the cost of the plane, and $ 2 of an $ 18 shipping charge on 3 small planes, and refused to reimburse my costs to ship the plane back. There is nothing on the site saying returns are at the cost of purchaser, whether or not the store makes the mistake, which they did here. The manager was rude and patronizing as well, stating he would lose money if he reimbursed me for the store’s mistake. It may be geek and nerd nirvana, but it is also extremely poorly run from a business perspective. Don’t order online or over the phone from this store!!!

This store is geek and nerd nirvana! I just bought a radio-controlled airplane for my young man for Valentine’s Day and although, prices here are higher than they would be online(10% higher than Amazon), I didn’t have to spend any time researching — the enthusiastic and knowledgeable here were able to painlessly answer my questions and steer me to the right purchase. Aside from all of the boy-geek rockets and airguns, trains and models, there are also girly geek things, like the doll house miniatures and Breyer horses that I was crazy about as a kid. Not that I would have turned down a telescope or RC helicopter…

Really neat hobby shop! There aren’t many around anymore, and this is a nice one. Lots of model kits, a small department of tabletop gaming miniatures, chemistry supplies, telescopes, model airplanes, trains, pinewood derby stuff, board games, toys, kites, model horses, dolls, kids craft kits, and all related hobby supplies(paints, glues, brushes, etc.). What I really like about this hobby shop is the huge variety. I bought a model kit(I used to make them in my teen years, and recently got the urge to start again) and some gaming miniatures(another teenage hobby rekindled) and the guy at the counter asked if I had any questions or needed any paint, glue, etc. but not in a condescending way. As a woman who frequents hobby shops(I often need specialized paints or glues for my job), sometimes I find that I’m treated totally weird and I feel out of place, even though I’m kind of doing this stuff at an expert level. Nobody here blinked an eye at a woman in a hobby shop and nobody assumed I was buying for somebody else. The staff was very friendly and while I didn’t really need any help, I overheard them helping other customers and they all sounded very knowledgeable. Some minor complaints: With such a variety of departments, it felt like none of the departments were really fully stocked. The toy area was really crowded and cluttered. Their prices aren’t the best, I believe they will price match local stores, but I’m pretty sure you could find pretty much everything cheaper on the internet. But it’s hard to beat the experience of wandering around a great hobby shop, if you’re into that sort of thing.

As much as I appreciate the improvements to Red Bank I do miss some of the stores such as Prown’s and Kisler’s that gave the town its local feel. Hobbymaster’s is one of the Red Bank institutions that has been able to hold out. Probably because they are not located on Broad Street. Hobbymasters is a two story full service hobby shop with the first floor filled up with toys, dolls and craft items. The second floor has the trains and models. I have had my eye on a radio controlled tugboat for several years.
