My mom got me a gel mani/pedi for my birthday. Spent darn good money for it. The technician painted OVER my cuticles on my fingernails, which caused the gel manicure(which should last for two weeks) to only last for about three days. Ridiculous! Then, the polish used on my toes must’ve been watered down, because the color was already faded when I got out of the salon. It lasted about four days before chipping off. At the time of service, I didn’t have time to go back in and complain. After two hours of being in their assembly line, I was done. So my mom called and complained, simply asking for the good business practice of getting a gift certificate, partial refund or SOMETHING. Nope, no dice. In fact, they were so rude I couldn’t believe it! Never go here unless you have money to burn, are fine with paying people to be rude to you, and don’t care how long your mani/pedis last.

I have been to this nail salon a few times and it’s really a hit or miss with me but the last time that I have been there completely changed my point of view of this establishment. Honestly it really all depends on what tech you get to work with you here. Some of the ladies are very nice but most of them unprofessional. Convenience with it being in the mall or not, go somewhere else. Now I understand that most nail places in the area are from run by people from foreign descent, which they speak an unknown language, but these people are unprofessional in how they carry themselves. From the moment you sit down in front of the nail tech to the very second you leave they are gossiping amongst themselves and it feels like they are talking about you. I was in this salon yesterday and the owner of the shop was working with me. She asked me who did my nails last time I was in and I told her and pointed out the nail tech. I was not complaining about her at all, in fact I complimented her. The owner said, «oh, well I do better right?» I told her I was uncomfortable with answering her and she questioned me why and I simply said, «because you have not finished my nails.» She then started to gossip with another nail tech which I thought was rude because it was obvious that she was talking about me. This gossiping continued the whole time. She did a nice job with the shape of my nails and she didn’t hurt me at all. When it got down to paying her before she painted my nails, she charged me 16 $ for the refill, which is fair, and so I gave her 20 $. She then said, and I kid you not these were her EXACT words, «thank you love you» and took my money. She did not hand me any change either. Normally I tip them but this time I really wasn’t going to tip her because of her unprofessionalism. She then decided to paint my nails which I asked for black with orange glitter on the tips for Halloween. Well the nails did not turn out how I wanted them. They look messy and not flattering at all. I did not want to complain because I was already flustered with her and I did not want to cause a scene. Overall, bad experience. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

This place just okay. Not sure if I would visit again. 1. Gel Manicure is probably the only service I really liked here. They have a nice selection. 2. I’m not sure how clean this place is. I have my doubts. 3. Pedicure was sub-standard and I wasn’t offered the services that other people were getting like callus removal. 4. Waxing is terriable. They miss areas and spots.

I’m not a huge fan of malls as it is, so the mall nail salon is not a place I usually frequent but with the approach of open-toed shoe season and a coupon in a local mailer, off I went with a bunch of my girls for an evening of foot pampering. My girls were a blast, as usual but while we were all sitting in the very nice and newish pedicure chairs, all sitting in a row, I was able to watch the differences in the services we received. There must have been 10 different nail techs manning the store and it seemed like they were tag teaming to provide us our cheap pedicures. One girl started with C. and then moved to J’s chair. Another was going between me and someone getting a manicure. Strange. It felt very disjointed and it seemed like they were a little forgetful or rushed in the procedures. I loved the use of the dremel tool on the very dry spots of my feet. It didn’t tickle too much and removed a lot of the dry skin. They used it on 3 of the 4 of us. My friend who didn’t get the dremel treatment was confused by missing out. I asked if her were extra soft and therefore didn’t need to be sanded down and she shrugged. I definitely noticed a lack of barbacide around the salon. You know, that dark blue liquid used to sanitize tools. A friend mentioned that she saw the tools coming out of a sanitizing machine, but still, come on! Given that the tech CUTMYCUTICLE so much that it bled and also cut the toe of one of my friends, I am certainly concerned about the sanitation.(I will be checking the wound diligently for signs of infection!) It also bugs me when the techs at a nail place gossip in a different language. I always feel like they’re talking about me. Paranoid, true, but still isn’t that kinda rude? I also watched one of the techs(the nice one who actually chatted with us) hold a phone to her ear for several minutes while working on one of my friend’s feet. Poor form! The place looked pretty clean but they had tacky printed paper signs everywhere, including notes to please tip in cash taped to the arms of each of the pedicure chairs and at every table and dryer. Looking at my nails today(I got a mani and pedi) the polish job is sloppy and already chipping. Plus, not as shiny as other jobs I’ve had. And if it’s important to you, and you’re considering going to Nail Division, most of their polishes are China Glaze, Essie or cheaper brands. Only, maybe, 30% are OPI, but they did have that new Katy Perry crackle glaze stuff.
