Great little strip mall place. Décor is nice. Nice people. Great thai food. Had lunch here but I think its a good dinner place too.

Stopped in after conducting business. Ordered the Spicy Noodle Soup. The authentic flavors brought me back to when I travelled to Thailand. You need to try this establishment for something new and exciting.

Came here to celebrate Thai New Year at seemingly the only Thai-owned place in town. The owner, Dan, was extremely hospitable and entertaining. We had the pad thai and drunken noodles(spice level 1 — take Dan’s recommendation to start low!) which were both generous and tasty. Dan even threw a surprise complementary dessert of coconut sticky rice which helped to tone down any spice in our meal and topped off our already full bellies. Décor was comfortable and Thai-traditional. You can even sit traditionally without getting a Charlie horse as there is seating set below the floor. We will definitely return to try the other dishes.

I made my way to Sukothai for lunch because the line at the other Thai restaurant in town was out the door, and I didn’t have time to wait. I was very happy with this accidental find, as the décor is very cool, the food is delicious and authentic, and the prices are very reasonable… will definitely be back!

I loooooooove this restaurant. It’s my one and only favorite place to get Thai food. It’s tucked away in an almost forgotten shopping plaza in Raritan. I first had their Thai shrimp fried rice, and it’s honestly the best thing that’s ever happened to me. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is so cozy, and the staff are friendly, I LOVEIT. I feel very welcome and at home when I come here, it’s always a wonderful experience, and the food just keeps me coming back. My favorites are the Thai fried rice, pad thai, and the tom kha gai soup. All very delicious.

I have been a loyal customer of Sukothai since the first day they opened their doors for business. I think I was their first customer, no joke. And 10 plus years later, I can still confidently rave about their fresh food & excellent service. My favorite is the sautéed catfish called«Pad Phed Pla Doog» under the«Chef’s Special.» The thai iced tea is scrumptious and the mango with sticky rice is a perfect ending to an amazing meal. The owners Danny and Tim(his wife) are good people serving top notch thai food in the Central New Jersey area. In the past, they had a thriving Thai Restaurant in NYC and served A-List celebrities like Harrison Ford. Despite that, the bottom line is this: If you want satisfying, authentic Thai Food, that hits the spot, go to Sukothai. You will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I are regulars here! He is an executive chef and he is always very impressed by their food, especially the duck. Perfectly cooked meat, crispy skin. yum! Followed by some Thai tea and mango rice(when in season). My boyfriend is a very tall guy so we don’t sit at the chairs set into the floor. but it looks fun and is a great experience every time. The waitress also makes awesome roses with straw wrappers(just ask!) 4 stars because I wish I could eat there right now, but they don’t open until 3 on Saturdays. maybe I will give 5 stars after I go to eat there today

My favorite Thai place in the area, and there are many! The staff is always friendly, the inside has such a calming ambiance and food comes out right away. I’ve been coming here for years and their ingredients are always fresh, including the veggies. For apps, my fave are Tom Kha Gai Soup, Som Tam Salad, Satay. Their Pad Thai, Nuur Pad Nam Mun Hoy, and Nuur Yang never fails to be perfect. Also, their Thai iced tea can be addicting.

Great food and beautifully decorated, the best part about this place is that it’s one the best kept secrets in raritan. Perfect for a date night.

2 friends and I came here for a late lunch because Thai Kitchen was closed. First thing I noticed was that, on one side of the restaurant, there were regular tables and seats. Now, on the opposite side, there were low tables and a sunken floor for your legs — the kind you see at some Japanese restaurants — which was awesome, because it gives some cool factor to the dining experience. Even though we arrived past 3pm, and the lunch specials no longer apply to us, the owner of the restaurant, still gave us the discount, which was very nice of her. I ordered the pad thai with tofu, which had too much sauce on it, making the dish a little more sour than it should be. Thai Kitchen’s pad thai is definitely better. Maybe I will give this place another chance and try something else on the menu next time. Meanwhile, my friend who ordered the drunken noodles seem to have enjoyed her meal.

A bit run of the mill for a Thai place. I ordered the pad Thai, extra spicy. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. It is cheap for a Thai restaurant but I probably wouldn’t come back here unless I was invited for something.

Always good food and good service. Easily our favorite Thai place in the area. The owners are always nice and always there and are real friendly. The food is great too, a lot of choices. My personal favorite is the BBQ pork with sticky rice in bamboo. My Husband loves very spicy food and they have some spicy choices that are super spicy! Great place, neat Thai décor.

I found Skhothai on Unilocal and tried it with a girlfriend when our initial dinner plan fell through. Overall the food was pretty good, service was attentive, and décor was elaborate in a tastful way. I tried a green curry dish with chicken. It came in a beautifully presented tureen, with a generous portion of veggies and chicken. Big win for me — they have brown rice. Initially I’d planned to order a different curry dish, but the lady serving us was very forward in letting me know that it wasn’t as good as some of the other options. I followed her advice, and overall was pleased. My girlfriend tried one of the«chef specialty» items of lemongrass marinated grilled chicken, and steamed veggies with a spicy sauce. The veggies and chicken were all cooked perfectly, but overall were a bit on the bland side. The sauce had some flavor, but it wasn’t until our server brought a selection of extra sauces and spices that the dish really came together. Save this for people watching their figures, or intimidated by other Thai options. The décor really was quite pretty. Dark wood panneling, and paper fans along the ceiling. There are a number of «regular» tables, but also several tables over a raised floor platform allowing you to eat almost on the floor(though still sitting in a chair). This was a good restaurant with friendly service and great decorations. I’d be happy to come again, but I would probably revisit some of the neighboring Thai spots first.

I am not going to lie, I heard mixed reviews of this place. I heard mostly from my co workers that this was a great place to eat thai. It’s Hidden because its located in a strip mall setting. It’s safe to say, I am thoroughly impressed of this place. Our hostess Kim was very welcoming and very gracious ! We entered around four, there was only another person sitting in the restaurant.(the other Thai places around the area usually have odd hours closing and then re start for dinner or lunch) This place is opened during the odd hours when the other thai restaurants are closed. Just a note. I had the pad kee Mao. Hands down the best. I had it with three peppers(spice level), the restaurants spiciest. The spice level of the dish was perfect, it didn’t overpower the flavor of the meal. Ordered thai iced tea and during our meals the hostess or owner bought over a small pitcher of Thai iced tea refills. How adorable! Definitely try this awesome place! The décor was very nice and the noise level was calm. I will definitely go back.

My affair with Thai food grew strong when I found this gem. The place is run by a couple who know what they are doing. The food is prepared in a clean kitchen with extreme care and attention. Every entrée comes out smelling and tasting delicious. Highly recommended Thai place.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant and I’ve tried them all in the area. The ingredients are fresh and everything is always delicious. My only complaint is that the dishes are never spicy enough for me, but luckily they bring you over a tray of FOUR different spices to boost up that heat upon request. I recommend going for dinner as the lunch time service tends to be a little bit slower than you’d like for that time of day. Takeout orders are just as consistent as if you’re eating there. Décor is very unique as well.
