I come here often. I really enjoy their sushi. Always fresh and unique flavors. I recommend the all you can eat sushi for $ 22 on the weekdays. Service is fast and the sushi is so yummy. Their miso soup is tasty. Last time I came here, I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. Hence, why this review gets a 4⁄5. The chicken teriyaki was not that appetizing. It was very bland. The California roll and seaweed salad was delicious. I also ate a lot of my cousin’s sushi and it was so fresh and yummy. I recommend coming here strictly for sushi. I do not the recommend the chicken teriyaki. It is BYOB!

No more went a few times while the service is very nice the food quality is very low they hide the frozen sushi well in the special rolls but watch out for the sashimi yuck! Remember it’s all you can eat for one low price you get what you pay for at this place

Very good sushi. The lunch special, «ALLYOUCANEAT» for«13.95» is very inexpensive & there is a large selection to choose from. Some All You Can Eat places, have very«limited» selections. In this place there were various choices including crunchy, soft shell crab, which is usually very expensive. I will come here again!

Hubby and I went here for dinner last night for the first time. The main thing that attracted us was the all you can eat sushi(we were both VERY hungry!). Just want to point out that this is not a buffet. Food is made to order. The interior is nice, love the fact that there are booths as well as tables placed not too closely together. It’s also BYOB. Service was good as well as prompt; the waitress was polite and always had a smile on her face. We ordered the miso soup, several sushi rolls, as well as some shrimp tempura, all of which were very good and tasty! The only reason I give this place 4 stars as opposed to 5, is because it is not the BEST sushi I have had, but it is still delicious and well worth the trip! A GREAT bang for your buck! We definitely plan on coming here again!

First time visiting this place with my friends. $ 25 per person(including tips) for All-You-Can-Eat dinner. They offer a lot of good special rolls. Good to try them. The Sushi are fresh.

Favorite sushi buffet! Really good selections and great service. The waitress is always very nice and quick with their orders. Atmosphere is nice too — the tables aren’t packed as closely together as some other places.

I went for the lunch all you can eat deal. To be honest, for the price we are paying I think it’s definitely worth going even though we do not get to order sashimi. The only downside is that service can be kind of slow, but that could be due to the lack of chefs they have making the sushi. The portions of the appetizers are really small, so don’t be afraid to order them. Overall, I think it is a great spin off of sushi palace and the price is cheaper than sushi palace. Also I would recommend the green tea ice cream !

I am a regular here. When I go in with my boyfriend, they welcome us by telling us they are good to see us again. Me and my boyfriend came here on a whim(we used to go to Sushi Palace) and were pleasantly surprised. Their edamame has little to no salt which I like! I love their godzilla roll(we eat at least four rolls!) and their green tea ice cream is amazing!

My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week, sometimes more! For $ 13 unlimited lunch buffet, you cannot beat it. The food is also fantastic, and always super fresh. My favorite is the shrimp tempura roll, I could eat them all day.

I have been coming here since they opened and I have to say that the last two times the quality of the food and the services have diminished. We always get the all you can eat sushi and kitchen menu. The sushi quality has gone down its like they just chopped a piece of sashimi off and served it. Every kitchen order we placed came out cold unless it was a fried item. I kept coming here over sushi palace because the food was good and the prices were better. Now I am left with the question do I come back here or pay the extra money and go to sushi palace. I had a few friends that recently went as well and said the same thing that they were disappointed. Also The servers that they have been using are having a hard time understanding us as well.

Pros: good service, nice atmosphere, unique choice of special rolls from all you can eat menu — Yankee roll is delicious. Cons: fish was just ok — some pieces of sashimi had very fishy flavor, did not like the miso soup as it had a weird flavor and very potent seaweed taste Overall a good place but I have had better quality and fresher fish for all you can eat.

This turned out to be a hidden gem… So much better than Sushi Palace next door where it is extremely crammed up and the food is just about average. Kumo has new selection of sushi which they make with fresh ingredients and intricate art !!! They also have hibachi menu which worked really well for my husband because he doesn’t like raw stuff… The service was a little slow and they can improve in that area but seating was spacious and décor was nice. Its BYOB ofcourse like most other restaurants in Somerville… so that’s a brownie points :) Jersey Girl, Rainbow rolls and sashimi are recommended.

I went back to try them for lunch. Went early… not busy at all. Service was improved, but would have appreciated a pass by or two to refill tea and the such. Lunch all you can eat is rolls only no sushi or sashimi. This is understandable for$ 14.95. Fish all seemed fresh and rolls were well prepared. I might just have to try them for dinner sometime soon.

They recently replaced east star Buffett. But they are so much better! I love their Thai fried rice it’s amazing! The manager is so nice I was craving egg roll and only had my AMEX card on me no cash it would be ridiculous to buy just 2 egg roll on an Amex but I really wanted those egg rolls bad lol the inner fat child in me was coming out! The waitress politely explained that min. $ 8 but then I looked at the menu to get something more to make $ 8 the manager came over and said it was ok I don’t have to get anything else… So I decided to anyways because that’s what you call impeccable service and pleasing customers 5* the staff was 5*

One of the best All you can eat places I have been to. Quality sushi, service is fine, nothing to write home about but nothing wrong with it either. Never had a bad experience and have dined in heere at least 5 – 6 times. Highly recommended and the best thing is its always all you can eat, even on a friday or saturday night.

The servers at Kumo are some of the most awkward I have ever encountered. One server just stood at our table and silently looked at us for a while before explaining that he was new and didn’t know how to take orders from the regular non-sushi menu. There was another server who somehow managed to make refilling glasses of water super weird also. The spring rolls were a bit mushy on the inside so I probably won’t order them again. The tofu was tasty but the broccoli it came with was cold. Some of the options on the takeout menu are not on the eat in menu, which can be disappointing and annoying when ordering. I’ll probably come back for takeout occasionally but I don’t want to eat there because of all the awkwardness.

Had lunch and just didn’t enjoy it. Admittedly I was confused by the menu and ordered more than I should have. Nothing was flat out awful but nothing was all that good either. The wonton soup is simply not serious and the sate is served in a manner unlike any sate I’ve ever had. The rolls were unmemorable. Well, you win some and loose some.

Love it. Give it a try! It is NOTHING like the former establishment that was a buffet. I think people don’t realize it’s a different restaurant now. That is 100% different. They renovated the place & it’s BYOB with a liquor store next door! All you can eat made fresh, yummy food, great servers always refilling your drink! When I say all you can eat this is NOT a buffet. It’s hot fresh food made to order! They have all you can eat lunch for 13 $. You get check lists of sushi, miso or hot sour soups, salad, hibachi vegetables, chicken, tofu, great vegetarian options, you check off what you want and if you’re not full they’ll give you new papers to check off more food! I am shocked this place isn’t more busy, I think a lot of people don’t realize it’s there.
