The Hitching Post : Modest Wedding Dresses

I had a lot of difficulty shopping for a wedding dress before I came here. I don’t wear strapless dresses in my real life, and wherever I went, 90% of the wedding gowns were strapless, and the 10% that weren’t were too sexy for a church wedding– either sheer backs or legs or cleavage, which I wouldn’t wear to a Catholic church! Plus, a lot of the shops were rude about the fact that I had procrastinated a bit in getting my dress. I was at my wit’s end when my friend Laura told me that her Mormon friends went to a shop in the LA area for their dresses because they had special modesty requirements. I Googled «Mormon wedding dresses» and lo and behold, I found Cindy’s shop. I set up an appointment with her and took my maid of honor along. It is not super obvious that you’re at the right place from the street, so I think that Cindy might benefit from putting a sign out front, but that is literally the only bad thing I have to say about the experience. My maid of honor and I got there, and Cindy asked us for the date and about what kinds of things looked good on me. Immediately, I was trying on beautiful dresses in my size (16 for wedding dresses ¹²⁄₁₄ for other stuff). Every dress that I tried on was a good option, but I ultimately found a perfect dress for me. Plus, everything in the store is affordable. I think it’s unreasonable to pay thousands of dollars for a dress a person wears once, and if you go to the Hitching Post, you won’t have to. She ordered the dress for me, and when I picked it up, she was so gracious.
Cindy stocks the real princess dresses. You never see a princess in an immodest wedding dress, and if you go here, Cindy will help you find the perfect dress for you. You might not want to wait until 3 months before the wedding like I did, because there’s one designer she stocks that you have to order further in advance, and you don’t want to limit your options. But even if you are a procrastinator like me, you can probably still find a wonderful dress. Every dress I tried on was beautiful, and the one I picked was just the best for me.

My daughter is getting marreid in August and we needed to find a beautiful but modest dress for her big day. We loved The Hitching Post! Cindy was knowledeable, patient and extremely helpful. She had a wonderful selection of wedding dresses and so finding the perfect dress was inevitable. Cindy made the whole experience exciting and fun. I would definately recommend the Hitching Post.

Cindy was very kind, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful to my sister who is shopping for her first wedding dress. A group of five of came along to «help» her find a dress and although the shop is small we were all welcomed and treated warmly.

I can’t say enough nice things about my experience with the Hitching Post and the owner Cindy. My daughter is super picky and she found a beautiful, modest wedding dress the first time she went. Not only was it everything my daughter wanted, the price was right too! We also purchased our bridesmaids dresses from her and they were also modest and gorgeous. She has a lot to choose from and she is so helpful. Not only did she help with the dresses, but she gave me advice and names and numbers for other vendors in the area to help with all of the other wedding things we needed to get done. I seriously can’t thank her enough for all of her help and kindness during a stressful but happy time. I would highly recommend The Hitching Post to anyone!

Cindy is AMAZING!!! She made me feel so special and it didn’t feel all business like a lot of places make you feel. She was so personable! I didn’t feel any pressure at all to buy from her, she was sweet and gave me great wedding advice. She didn’t have any crazy hidden fees like another place I went to to find a modest bridesmaid dress. Wish I would have known about this hidden gem sooner!
