Islamorada Fish Company

A cabin style restaurant located inside of The Bass Pro shop is where you’ll find The World famous Islamorada fish company.
Walk inside and here you’ll see a huge aquarium right behind the bar, plenty of seating and wide walking space throughout the area.
The service was decent and attentive, our waiter was helpful along with offering good suggestions. In addition to the good service the food selection and preparation was on point. I’ve never been to a restaurant that offered alligator on the menu. Their clam chowder was thick and satisfying. As well the Crispy Shrimp and Fried Catfish were breaded nicely and both cooked without soaking them in grease.
Given the fact this restaurant to attached to a store it makes the adventure here all the more fun. In one stop you can get your shopping and dinner out of the way for the day.

First off… The service is great!!! I would give our waitress Kayla 10 stars! Very polite and always smiling. However, the food… Not so much. Very greasy and bland. We were so mad at ourselves for not going to Joe’s Crab Shack across the street where they have way more flavor. We won’t be eating here again BUT at least the service was great!

One of the many perks of shopping at Bass Pro Shop is eating at their restaurant. They start you off with a complimentary loaf of sugar bread – so good! Their Mahi Mahi sandwich is fresh and delicious. Love their tournament burger, which is stacked with crispy bacon. Order their Tropical Hurricane for a yummy treat
Their décor is so much fun! Huge fish tanks filled with different species of beautiful fish. Perfect for families, as I see lots of people bringing their little ones. Make sure you stop by their bathroom. So cute!

First timer and I have to say the experience was very pleasant. Me and my boyfriend sat outside due to us having our dog with us and they accept dogs so that’s a plus. I ordered the battered shrimp with French fries and coleslaw on the side. It was very good, and filling. Also I wanted to mention our waiter was training but did a fabulous job. He was very attentive due to us being the only ones outside, we even ended up getting dessert because we felt so welcomed by him.

Wife and I come here every couple of months. Ambience is great, but I’ve noticed the decline in customers in the last two years. This place is not great as it once was. I’m not sure if it’s the food or location. I still enjoy the restaurant, especially since it’s next to Bass Pro Shop (one of my favorite stores).

Love this place! Come here every time I head out to my duck club to hunt. Crawfish appetizer is the best. Fish and chips are very good.

No sir not impressed. My food was bland to the point I had to put ketchup & salt on every bite. I can say with a 99% certainty that I shall never eat here again.

Nope. Service is bad, food is bad, drinks are bad, expensive too… nope, never again…

BOY is this place interesting. Truth be told, I never even knew there was a restaurant here. I always pass by this place when I’m on my way to Vegas but I just thought it was a store. When my boyfriend first told me that we were coming here to eat, I laughed & thought he was being sarcastic.
Parking was a bit tricky but i’m assuming it isn’t that bad on the weekdays. We had a 45 minute wait & so we went into the store. It was SO CRAZY. I’ve never really been into a store quite like it so I was just giddy. We explored the whole store & was just in awe at a lot of stuff, lol. I know — its quite easy to amuse us.
Our table for 15 was finally ready & we got seated in a long table near the fire pit. At first, i didn’t care for the complementary bread but it grew on me. I ordered the fish & chips & it was pretty good! better then other places that I’ve tried it at. I didn’t really notice what everyone else got but I think it ranged from tilapia, catfish, burgers & clam chowders?
Service was good. They were very nice & on point with everything. Food came out pretty fast considering how packed it was.
Definitely going to come back here.

Ive heard great reviews for years now but i finally came here! People said it was pricey but honestly i didnt notice a difference in price from here than like an Olive Garden or Applebees. our server «Evan» was VERY attentive and friendly, and always checked in on us. i got the alligator and a mahi mahi sandwich. the alligator tastes like chicken, as the cliché states. also the décor is just amazing! Even though im afraid of sharks i couldnt keep my eyes off the walls.

Great family restaurant, large and cavernous just like Bass Pro Shops. Beautifully decorated with huge cozy couches, a giant aquarium and a large fireplace in the center.
The food is very good, low priced with large portions. My kids love the fresh baked sugar bread loaves that they give you on a butcher block before your dinner. You can’t go wrong with the shrimp platter, the Mahi Mahi with baked potato is also a hit. The warm brownie served with hot fudge and vanilla iced cream for dessert is in the shape of a fish, pretty cute! The service is great, the lighting is «bright and this restaurant still has carpet… Overall a great way to end a day of shopping at Victoria Gardens that doesn’t break the bank.

Maybe I had great expectation after seeing all the pictures on Unilocal but my order of roasted garlic grouper was kind of below average. Tried diff spicy sauces on the fish but it didn’t taste right! The outside was grilled ok but was blend from inside. The alligator bites is a good but a bit of a hype. 3 stars on the interiors and services

Great food, great service, and that bloody mary was to die for!
Everytime we eat here we can barely finish (and that’s always the lunch specials).
Try the 2 fish fry plate (crawdad & alligator is my fav combo) or the burgers (husband raves about them)

Serious decline in quality over the last year. My Grouper today was not fresh. Unlimited fish and chips was discontinued. Portions have gotten smaller. Menu was significantly reduced and many good dishes taken off. Had to beg for bread and was told that they are out of bread for the night. Really? I think this was my last visit after having been coming here once a month for the last 6 years.

Awesome food! I highly recommend the Islamorada salad and fish tacos. The alligator appetizer is very tasty — The accompanying jalapeño cream cheese dipping sauce completely makes it. Service can be a bit spotty and the weekends are pretty hectic in there. I recommend trying Islamorada on a weeknight for the best service.

I could swear I dropped $ 40.00 next to my chair and the manager walked past and picked it up and kept it. He didn’t even bother to say did you drop this… There was a sugar packet right next to my chair and he didn’t pick that up. I hope you enjoy them

We decided to go here after shopping at Bass Pro Shop. We sat at the bar and were greeted very quickly.
My husband ordered a bloody mary, and it looked really good, a cocktail shrimp was one of the garnishes.
We started with the Alligator appetizer. We wanted to try something new. Not too bad, a little chewy, but that is how it is supposed to be. For lunch I got the Cajun pasta, and he doesn’t the popcorn shrimp with onion rings. They serve a small load of bread with your meals.
Overall, everything was good. It’s a good place to hit up after you’ve been walking around the store for a while.

A nice relaxing restaurant. I didn’t order much, I had eaten earlier so I just ordered a side order of rice but my brother had fish and chips and he said they were delicious! The bread we had was delicious, it was sweet which was a new change and I liked it! We were next to a large aquarium which I found to be kinda sad — my brother is eating dead fish in front of live fish. All the servers were very nice to us and we will definitely return!

I know it’s a fish restaurant… BUT I saw a pulled pork sandwich as I was being seated and it was calling to me!
Our server Darri was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She was busy so she was slightly distracted.
After living in da South for a couple years, I feel somewhat qualified to judge pulled pork appropriately… this was the BEST ever! Smokey moist flavor, not too much bbq sauce although the sauce was not even needed!
Hubby ordered the golden trout with a side of asparagus and he was glad he chose it over the standard old fish and chips… even the ladies next to us wised they ordered his instead of their fish and chips. It wasn’t that the fish and chips were not good but that the Trout was that appealing in look alone.
Kids ordered the fried shrimp. They were more excited about the menu than the menu item. But it kept them busy while I grubbed down!
Of course had to taste dessert… could have skipped it though. Key lime pie super tart but the crust was not good — dry and powdery and over priced. Hubby ordered the bread pudding — eh… just syrup-​ie.

Inside the Bass Pro Shop, We’ve been here a couple of times and the service is hit and miss, this visit we had a great experience and the service was top notch and there was very little wait for our food and our server was very attentive. Had the Catfish and Alligator plate, catfish was good, Alligator was a mixed bag, some was over cooked and some was just right. Daughter had the Salmon and was very happy, perfectly cooked and very flavorful, for starters we had Clam Chowder and Venison Stuffed Mushrooms, the mushrooms were good but a little on the spicy side for the wife and daughter, so more for me, Clam Chowder was very good.
Overall the food was good but nothing over the top and the service was better than our last visit.
