When I worked in Rancho Cordova, I tried this place once or twice but vowed never to go back. The food was OK, but nothing spectacular. In that little plaza, this restaurant and another Japanese restaurant are the only two in which you could sit down and have a nice meal. In other words, most other restaurants there are more like fast-food places. When you have worked the whole morning and would like to relax nicely during lunch, so that you can go back to put in your 110% again, these restaurants are the place to go. This restaurant is also presentable enough for business meals. However, it was the human behavior that prevented this restaurant from getting more business, at least from me. One waitress was very rude. Once I was slow to tell her my order(might be thinking and then opened my mouth one second late). She immediately made a face to act as if I was hard to understand and became impatient. How could a business in the hospitality industry treat customers like this? With this stuck-up waitress, they have lost a could-have-been regular customer. Please coach all your waiters/waitresses to be more courteous to customers, including those customers who look prettier than the waitresses themselves. If you unreasonably make your customers feel bad, you are not doing a good job and your customers will take their business elsewhere. This is Services Marketing 101.

The service here has been spotty lately but I have continued to go because I love Thai food and it’s really my only option near my office. I’ve been neglected more and more– haven’t received the lunch salad a least a couple of times and minimal contact/refilling of water/etc. Then today I was waiting for a table and a server cleaned a table off and sat the people waiting behind me who came in after me. Another server who knew I was waiting said something and then they just stared at each other and looked around the full restaurant and didn’t apologize. So I finally said, «You know what, never mind.» Then I turned around I walked out. I have been going there regularly for about a year and have sent and brought many people there. Not anymore.

Amazingly awful food. They know exactly how to piss of their customers. One time i ordered mild pad thai and they served me sweet pad thai as if they added extra sugar in it. When i asked them to make it spicy she added more sugar and spicy which made it even worst. Let me tell you that I love pad thai and they managed to ruin it like I could never think. Also whenever I order thai ice tea they almost serve less than half glass and almost whole glass is full of ice and they do not even have free refills. If i ask them no ice she would roll her eyes at me as if i am being cheap. if i am paying for certain oz of tea i deserve to get that much and not less. Plus their customer service is so awful that it is impossible to take 1 hr lunch during weekdays and its not even a busy place. Anyways I have stopped going their and wont miss it.

Nice and clean restaurant but on the other side food quality and getting a right order only depends to your luck and the kitchen staff for that day. The make you confused to rate them. I’ll give them 2 start base of the numbers they make me upset with my order. Hope they pay attention more to the customers request and make them what they ask and not just charging them without any mistake for extra tomatoes.

Food: Went in for lunch. It was ok. Would have given an extra star if not for the fact I specifically asked for spicy pad thai and sadly it was not :(2STARS Service: So since we were a large group we were seated in the back. Worst ever. Only because they forgot about us quite a few times. 1STAR To my co-workers: Thank you for good company & good laughs! Cheers.

Papaya salad was good and refreshing! The garlic lover was ok. A bit pricey for something simple.

DONOTORDERDELIVERYONLINETHRUHERE. I did. Never got here. I called the service and was told they would have to cancel the order because there are no drivers. Would have been nice to know that quicker than 1 hr. 45 minutes. Incredibly poor service courtesy of Unilocal

Sala is the closest Thai restaurant to my office so I eat there quite often. The interior is nice enough, and I’ve never noticed any cleanliness issues. The place gets really busy at lunch hour but the staff usually handles the crowds with good service. Today, a coworker and I stopped in for a couple of Pad Thai lunch orders to go. The friendly staff took our orders and about ten minutes later we were on our way back to work with our lunches. My styrofoam container was lined with foil(appreciate that) and was full of tasty noodles and beef. Seriously, a large serving. I sprinkled the crushed peanuts that were served on the side over the top of the noodles and started in. First bite and I knew they got my spice request level just right. Extra spicy. Not overpowering, but definitely not for lightweights. I could still taste the other flavors even with the heat. My entire meal was fresh and tasty and I devoured every last noodle. My coworker and I agreed that we will definitely repeat today’s meal again soon.

I placed a $ 50 takeout order and asked for a cup of water in a to go cup while I waited and they said«we don’t allow that, bottled water is $ 2.» They need to improve their customer service if they’d like to retain their customers. Food quality is standard — not great and not bad. When dining in the service is slow even when the restaurant is empty.

Its hard to talk highly about this restaurant when you’ve had better. Thai food is one of my most favorite kinds of food. When its good, its good. When its bad, you’ll most likely hear about it on Unilocal which is why I should’ve listened and ran to Soho next door. Its winter time and there is no doubt that it’s been one of the coldest winters Sacramento has had in a long time. With that being said, I’m going to expect most businesses to have their heaters turned on when necessary. It was more than necessary during the time we were there. We brought my aunt out to dinner here last night and poor little ol her was shivering like crazy. Our server noticed and said«I know its freezing, but our heaters broken. I know grandma is cold but I’m sorry guys!!» Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Who you calling grandma? My aunt has no grand kids therefore, shes no grandma, sister! There were definitely some mean stares being handed that night. Anyways, Our meals consisted of: spicy fried rice, pad thai, and calamari eggplant stir fry with garlic basil sauce. For appetizers, we went with chicken satay and fried wontons. To drink, we got an iced coffee and thai tea. For dessert, we got the fried banana with coconut ice cream. In short, the only thing I enjoyed about this meal was the chicken satay and coconut ice cream if that even counts. The calamari was rubbery and tough, pad thai was dry, fried rice had rock hard pieces of uncooked rice, drinks were overly sweet, annnd the service was slow and inconsistent. Im sooo down to drive the extra mile for better thai food next time!

Extremely busy during lunch hours. Took 20 mins to get sat at 11:40. Then took another 45 mins to get our food. What we had: Papaya salad(mild): was tasty and a little sweet, should have opted for 2 peppers. Chicken larb: not bad. Ground chicken. I like it more sour with a little more spice. But good flavor nonetheless. Ribs: yummy, sweet and flavorful. Not dry and good amount of meat. Be careful tho they are sticky. Sticky rice: came out hot and fresh perfect with the meal. Good meal not bad on price, the timing should have been a little faster and maybe 1 or 2 more servers on shift could have helped. We never saw our server again after she took our order. Over all we enjoyed our lunch but next time we will definitely get something a tad bit spicier.

LUNCHSPECIALS for $ 7.50 at this nicer looking thai restaurant so take advantage! —Roasted curry: yummy but the chicken was over cooked and I for thai food the curry wasn’t spicy enough! comes with white rice and ice berg salad —Spring rolls: you have to specify if you want them fresh or deep fried, we went with the fresh which included sprouts! the tofu inside was good & i liked the dipping sauces(peanut and sweet&sour) NOTE: Nice & quick service was much appreciated

After leaving Lowe’s off Zinfandel it was lunch time and I was in the mood for eating at a chinese restaurant. I’m glad I didn’t find one nearby, because then I would not have given Sala Thai a try. I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the decore, and size of the place. Sweet and sour vegetables with tofu was what I had and it was delicious. I want to come again and try more things.

2.5 stars really. I’m probably being generous by rounding up. I tried this place a couple days ago and was not impressed. I came with a large group for lunch… we ordered the Fresh Rolls and Angel Wings for appetizers. The Fresh Rolls were good… the veggies were so fresh that we could smell the cilantro. And then it kind of went down hill from this point on. The Angel Wings arrived after the main entrees. By the way, these were wing shaped, deep fried chicken meat balls. They had noodles and veggies mixed in, kind of like stuffing. They tasted fine, but just be aware if you are craving traditional wings. We enjoyed our entrees(I enjoyed the pumpkin curry) but there was a mix up in the orders initially so one of us had to wait for an entrée to be remade. I suppose things like that happen once in a while, so we let it go. But after finishing our meal we entered that awkward silence where we were waiting for the check to arrive. We had to wave down a server after waiting for 15 – 20 minutes. And then they forgot us again when it was time to pick up the check. We just broke at this point and ended up walking the check up to the front register so that we could finally pay and then leave. The food was fine, but the customer service was definitely slow. I would not recommend this place for a quick lunch. Considering how many other Thai restaurants are in the Rancho Cordova area, I probably won’t be back anytime soon.

To quote Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada: «By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me.» What I ordered: — Green Curry Pros: — Um. None. Cons: — The green curry was overly sweet, not a lot of flavor. — Slower than hell service. Chop chop lollipop. — Staff just couldn’t get their shiz together. It wasn’t busy yet the service was slow and there were a lot of mistakes made. Not sure I would ever go back.

Went today for a team lunch. I ordered the chicken Thai fried rice. The rice was good, not oily which is a big plus for me. Service was definitely really slow. We had to flag a waiter down to order our drinks/food and to get the bill at the end. As a co-worker said«Don’t these people want to get paid?» Lol. Since there are so many Thai places around, I would suggest going else where.

I was excited to try out a new Thai place(even though my stomach and heart always choose Thai Chili or Deliciozo first), but this visit was memorable for all of the wrong reasons. I wasn’t too hungry on this day due to an upset stomach so I decided on the fresh spring rolls. It’s on the appetizer list, right above the egg rolls(you know, the fried ones). Well, I even pointed at the name«fresh spring rolls» when I said it, just to make it clear that’s what I wanted. Well, she came out with a plate of egg rolls. I looked down, immediately disappointed. I didn’t want to say anything, but I also really wasn’t in the mood for fried food so I kindly stopped the waitress and asked her if these were the fresh spring rolls. She stared at me and said yes. I pointed back at the menu and said, «but the fresh spring rolls are wrapped in rice paper?» She replied that WAS rice paper and rushed away. what? So I sighed and figured I had to just deal with it and eat these egg rolls because we didn’t have enough time to wait for fresh spring rolls(and even if I did reorder, she would have brought me the same thing since she really believed those were spring rolls…). I can confidently say I will not be coming back here. If she brought the wrong one and owned up to the mistake, I would have been fine. But the fact that she insisted that I was wrong(about something everyone knows…) just made me upset.

Hmm, 1 star. Yes, let’s just say I didn’t enjoy my experience here. Hubs took me here for an impromptu dinner, which was very nice of him. Also, I had actually heard some nice things about this place from our neighbors and friends. So I had some expectations that this place would be decent. I really admire the thought put into the interior design. It’s really lovely, and I got to admire it for a whole 5 minutes before someone came to greet and seat us. Oh and there were no smiles or much of «customer service». It felt very much like a business transition. You sit here, you order, here’s your food, and you pay. As for the food, we order tom kha kai soup, drunken noodles with beef, and pumpkin curry with chicken. All the flavors were there and everything had a strong spicy kick to it. Flavor aside though, the mushrooms in our soup still had dirt on it and all the meat was chewy and overcooked. The rice was undercooked too. Probably not going to come here again. I still have nightmares about the chewy meat.

Today’s lunch is Sala Thai, this small and charming Thai restaurant located at the heart of Rancho Cordova businesses is a hot spot(i.e. zen spot) for friends and coworkers to unwind and relax with some awesome Thai food. The outside presentation of this particular restaurant is simple and nothing really jaw dropping, but once you open those doors, you are overwhelmed with spices, sweet coconut milk, curry, noodles, and other unique spicy/sweet variations. I usually visit Sala Thai during lunch time specials, and a couple weeks ago we ordered: Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle Pad kee-Mow, and the(spicy) Yellow Curry(Kaeng Kra Ree). The presentation, flavor, heat, and spiciness were superb. We had no complaints but we noticed around 1pm-2pm we started crashing. In other words, is that MSG!!! Eh, i wish i can give it 3.5 but 4 would suffice since the food is consistently good. Note: Dont forget to order the Thai Ice Tea! (sorry blurry pics)

My sister always gets take out from here and we finally decided to go in for lunch. Like most Thai places, they had some pretty good lunch specials for around $ 8. We got the Garlic Lover with beef and the Roasted Curry with chicken which was the panang curry. Both dishes come with rice and is a smaller portion than their dinner dishes(which are huge). The garlic flavor was nice and strong, and the curry was medium spicy and had tons of chicken pieces in it. I don’t like curry with little meat and all veggies… you know what I mean! The lunch specials are perfectly portioned and although there are no other sides included like salad, the meal was very filling! Pluses for the great service and clean restaurant. The servers actually smiled and refilled our drinks without us asking. They even have a pretty good selection of wine and beers. Next time I am in Sac, I will try their pineapple fried rice and pumpkin curry(and eat it together)!
