The other day for breakfast I got a big league order of flautas from El Taco Loco Shop inside Ramona Market. It’s a great value — four chubby, beef filled, flour tortilla wrapped, fried flautas for only $ 4.99. There’s no standard topping method here, they always ask what I want on top… So I just tell ‘em cheese, crema and guac. They come out hot, crispy and tasty! I always recommend eating in here at one of their rickety tables. To me the food always tastes better that way.

Food is good. Not the coolest place to hang out, but you are eating Mexican food, so don’t complain. Seating isn’t exactly the best, but it’s better than your pre-21 days when you would grab a street taco on your way back across the border.

Good food I always get the combo… Good carnasada fries too. I think it is one of the best, if not the best taco shop in ramona. Good prices. I used to always go to mi ranchito but now I go to El taco loco. It is also convenient to by meat by the pound and make the rest at home.

Totally worth the stop. We made a trip to Ramona because my wife had a booth at the annual Ramona Country Fair. Well the Fair got rained out so it was a bust for us. However when we asked where to get good Mexican food the guy at Ramona Valley Inn recommended El Taco Loco in Ramona market. Spot on. Weird because your inside a carneceria but not weird if you’re from L.A. Small dining area, ridiculously large portions. Didn’t mind the quirkiness of ordering then paying. Everyone there was very amicable. We also happened to hit during a lull. I had carne asada plate, my kids had burritos and tacos. It was the redeeming highlight of our trip.

Good food-Unfortunately The lady that works the food counter is a real B/$&ch! Whenever we go in and try to order she tells us in her sassy broken english that we need to pay first at the register then come back in 60 min to pick up our food. 1 hour, really?! Walked out!!!

Not the best for ambiance, but definitely one of the best for Mexican food in the county. Previous posts are right; seating is limited, and paying is a pain when your meal ticket is written on a post-it note given to a liquor store owner 30 ft away, but the food is the reason why I’m writing this. Servings are huge, cheap, and I’ve found no qualms yet with what I’ve ordered. Street tacos, quesadillas, ham/egg/cheese burritos, carne asada burritos, menudo, all good. It’s more for the construction crowd than for the second date/hipster crowd.(READ: Liquor store!) Surprisingly, you’ll see the full spread gambit of clientele come through here, so it’s no wonder that they’re more of a local secret than an over-hyped restaurant. My sympathies for the people who have had bad experiences here, as I have yet to. EDIT: I found a new favorite here! I don’t think it’s on the menu, but the shrimp ceviche tacos are out of this world! I get mine with cheese, guacamole, and lemon on top. And there’s ample shrimp in their ceviche. So healthy, and sooo good!

The place is located in a convenience store which is kinda weird. First(and only) time I ate here, my friends invited me swearing the best tacos. I ordered two chicken tacos. They are like street tacos with the smaller tortillas. While eating my first taco I found a lovely large bone, like a shoulder joint. I just ignored it figuring that it’s a random occurance, things do happen. Second taco totally had another smaller bone in it. So I will definitely not be returning anytime soon.

After reading the reviews about the great fish tacos here, we had to try them. They were by far the worst fish tacos I’ve ever eaten. The fish was gritty and tasted like dirt. The corn tortillas were mediocre. On the plus side the servings were huge and the toppings were excellent. We got there a little before closing and the service was terrible. They just wanted to go home. We also tried a carnitas burrito and it was drenched in grease. The flour tortilla was also mediocre and some of the meat was old and hard.

They have chewies in their carne asada. They do have large portions of food, but I hate having to spit out nasty pieces of beef into my napkin. Not a very pleasant atmosphere either. It is inside of the Ramona Market and its kinda a clusterf*** to order and pay, especially when there are other people waiting. Not conducive to efficiently assisting customers. Cheap, but not worth it in my opinion.

I have lived in Ramona for over a year and I have received flyers for this place claiming to have the best tacos in Ramona. I knew it was in the Ramona Market but never knew where it was. Finally my roommate and I got the address and found it. She got carne asada tacos and I got a carme asada burrito. I loved my burrito and she loved her tacos. It was excellent. It’s inside the Ramona Market. It’s great! There are 2 tables and like 4 stools at the counter. You have to pay for your meal at the market register. They only have mexican drinks at the fountain but who doesn’t love horchata? Gotta get a taco at El Taco Loco next time you are in Ramona!!!

the BEST fish tacos in San diego — I challenge you to find better. this taco shop is actually located inside the«Ramona Market» — the key is that they take the fish, fresh from the fish section of this«grocery store» and lightly powder it with spicy seasonings and serve it up hot and fresh in a warm tortilla — get the«large» fish taco — the hot sauce is really spicy which is nice for a change
