This little neighborhood spot has been here forever. Quick, cheap, delicious. Not fancy just reminds me of the little lunch stand we all grew up with in the south. Tip: not just hot Dogs and Fried Bologna– vegetarian options include egg salad pimento cheese and deviled eggs.

OUTstanding hot dogs!!! Great customer service. This cute hot dog shop is tucked way in the new shopping center off Capital Blvd/540. I ordered two beef hot dogs with ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut. Hot dog buns were soft and warm.

I’ve been eating here for years and still enjoy it. All the people whining about no seating, what did you expect from a place that says«HOTDOGS» on the outside? It’s a nice, family-runned, hole in the wall spot. I’ve only had hot dogs there(reason for 4 stars), but they’ve always been good. You can tell they care and for that reason I’ll keep coming back.

Great lil Mom and Pop place. They have the basics. Plus more. Like Turkey Dogs! Less than $ 10 for two dogs, watermelon and drink.

I stumbled upon this place in search for a NON chain restaurant after my company moved buildings. I have been here several times and never been disappointed. Its a great place to grab a salad, deli sandwich or hot dog. They have options of sides; chips, macaroni salad, grape salad, potato salad, etc. They are a order at the counter, stand up or take out type place, so don’t expect to sit down and chat with friends. They do a good business on weekdays and usually get busy after 11:45ish.

looking for a great hot dog at a great price then go to Steve’s! The people are great and the service is wonderful. I usually order the All Beef with Chili, Cheese, Mustard, and onions with a Pepsi. The only thing that would make this perfect is if they used shredded cheese instead of the cheese sauce AND added All Beef Boar’s Head Franks with the skin as an option… love the snap! Definitely recommend Steve’s if you are looking for a Hot Dog fix.

Ate at and loved Steve’s from the time I was in high school(10+ years ago) until I moved away from Raleigh last year. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5-star review is the seating situation… there are very limited tables and no chairs. I don’t mind standing, but those tables are hard to come by! I only ever had the hot dogs(always got the combo), but they were always great. The Steve’s staff is friendly, and when I used to go there more often in my younger days, they recognized me when I came in and would start making my «usual.» That seemed to be the case for a lot of their regulars.

Great food for a very reasonable cost. I especially love the chicken salad on toasted rye bread. Besides the standard dogs(beef and pork) they offer a turkey dog which was ok but I am a traditional dog lover. My favorite side item is the deviled eggs… you get three as a standard side. Of course in order for me to give five stars regardless of the food… they offer free refills on all fountain drinks.

I have seen this place since for so long and have never been in or it was always late so they were closed. My husband and I stopped in here since we had our dog in the car and we weren’t really feeling regular fast food. I got a beef hotdog with ketchup and a bag of cheetos with a fountain drink. My husband got a turkey dog, a sausage dog, sunchips, and a cheerwine in the bottle. It came to about 12 bucks which in Raleigh… is pretty kick ass for lunch. It was really good and the people there are super nice. We took ours out to eat in the car with the puppy. It looks really cute and clean. I would probably come back for the hotdogs and to check out the sandwiches. I’ll be back! My only complaint is the brand of ketchup. It’s Monarch, I think? I just wasn’t a fan of it, but to be honest… the hotdogs are really yummy so i’ll just snatch some packets from somewhere and use those because it’s not that big of a deal. They have other sides like deviled eggs and I think slaw/potato salad type of items, but those aren’t really my cup of tea so chips win out! They also have some little cakes in a mini case that I wanted to destroy, but… maybe next time? I say check this place out and ignore the hoity toity no seating people.

Food may be great, but NOSEATING? Tables and a counter where standing is the only option? Only seats outside? Not an option on a chilly day. We passed & went somewhere else.

No idea how the food is. Left immediately when I saw tables had no chairs. I hate dining gimmicks.

Beef Hot Dogs or Pork and Beef Hot Dogs or BOTH! I’ll have one of each! With just Onions! Very Good! I added a little Mustard! Stand-Up Tables(NO Chairs) If you want to sit down, mmmm bring your own chair? Maybe? How long does it take to eat a Hot Dog? They have footlongs too! Décor is a Hat(Cap) Ceiling and Posters of Mayberry and the Three Stooges! Sandwiches(as Steve splained to me) it is a Sandwich with sliced Bread like you get at the Grocery Store! NOT a Sub! NOT a Hero! NOT a Hoagie! NOT a Torpedo! They have Pastrami, Bologna, Salami, etc! Steve is very Friendly and the Ladies work Very fast! My order was DONE before I finished paying(I used all Pennies) just kidding I used a Credit Card!

Great Sandwich and Dog place. Price was reasonable and service was quick and efficient. Food was good and quickly provided even though they were fairly busy. Did not have a dog yet, but the sandwich was very good. Will try a dog next time.

I remember when Steve’s first opened way back in the day, the menu may have grew since then, but the friendly faces have remained the same. There is not one bad thing I can think to say. The hot dogs are good. The sandwiches are to dye for. The lemonade is REAL! It’s just a great little find in a strip mall behind burger king and Arby’s. Whenever you’re in the neighborhood stop by and give it a go!!!

A good solid Dog! Juicy and flavorable, I just wish they had been grilled. You can have them piled on with a wide selection of condiments. Next visit will try their wide selection of deli meats and sides, looks appetizing.

I ate at Steve’s a lot during high school. It was close enough to go, even during our super-short lunch periods, and my favorite part was the lists where you could check off all the toppings you wanted on the hot dogs! So tasty, and a lot of flavor combinations. Thank you, Steve’s, for being beloved of pretty much everyone in my high school!

I stumbled upon this place in search of a place that serves their sandwiches on regular sandwich bread. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The owner and the staff are all pleasant and welcoming. This is my go to place when I need to grab a quick bite to eat or something to take back to the office. Love their sandwiches love their salads! The concept is simple. Walk in snag your«menu» fill it out, take to the front counter, pay up and enjoy a quick fresh meal. I’ve been going there for at least 5 year and never once have I not had a fresh quality sandwich or salad. It was noted that the prices seemed high for what you get. I gladly pay for quality over quality any day. Salads are under $ 8 which in my personal opinion is pretty competitive to other restaurants. I think the same thing for the sandwiches. Sop in and give it a try next time you are out by the mall. It is well worth the detour away from the crazy food court.

My wife works right up the street from this establishment. I love a good hot dog with all the trimmings. Steve’s Place is one of a kind for this area, too many franchise at every corner. I didn’t realize they have fried bologna until I read the other review on here. Guess what I am ordering next time, that’s right, bologna!
