Grilled cheese? One side toasted at best… Guy behind the counter grabbed the receipt from the register, then grabbed bread and buttered it Or whatever and helped make sandwiches… Hm hoping I don’t get sick later and hoping he washed his hands at some point today! Yuck!

The coffee was extremely watered down. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a toasted croissant. Turns out that it tasted much better than I was expecting. The croissant was fresh and perfectly crispy, as was the bacon. The eggs came out of a metal trough of premade eggs. It was the last of the eggs in there, do it was just crumbly little pieces of egg. I might come back for a sandwich, but would need to buy my coffee elsewhere.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast on the way to convention hall today. Just a bagel and a juice but wow, looked around and could not help but think this place is so dirty! It is close and a great location for breakfast or lunch but i will not go back.

Sam & Wally’s is located in the basement of the BB&T building on the Fayetteville Street Mall in downtown Raleigh. To show you how good it is, I only eat there when I can think of absolutely NO where else to eat. Today was one of those days. I walked over(I just have to cross over Fayetteville) and ordered 2 slices of pizza(Yes, I am a pig, but they are small pieces!) and the drink. When I was told it was $ 7.17, I almost told him to keep my order. The pizza is okay, but 2 slices and a drink(a small one at that) should be $ 5.00. I am wishing now that I had walked to Mickey D’s for the $ 1 burger and value fries! Does that give you some idea? They actually stay busy, but probably because they are in the basement of a 23 or 24 storey office building and across the street from 2 that have 16 or 17 storeys. I can’t say for sure now, but their grilled cheese sandwich used to be good, as did their chicken salad and chicken & rice soup(but the chicken noodle and chili were not). I will tell you after spending $ 7.00 to eat pizza with a small drink, they’ve had the last of my money. And judging by the crowd today, I’m thinking others are feeling the same way!

Pretty uninspiring. Maybe I was there too late in the day(about thirty minutes before closing), maybe the staff was having a bad day, maybe they had just finished dealing with a lunch rush and were exhausted. I don’t know what it was, but this was horrid. I cannot speak for the food, since I didn’t order any, so this review is strictly about the coffee. I ordered a latte. I couldn’t decide if they used too much of the fake milk and all I could taste was the chemicals, or if the milk was a day or two past its expiration date, either way, two sips and into the nearest garbage can it went. Maybe I’ll try here another day, but I won’t be in any hurry.
