There was once a time when this place was pretty adequate to go to for a game of pool, darts, and to enjoy some chicken wings and drinks. Now, however, the place appears dumpy and run-​down. It looks like there was some roof problem that occurred at some point, but nothing appears to currently being done to repair anything. Many ceiling tiles are missing, and it is allowing electrical wires to hang down where people can almost touch them. I’m sure this violates some type of electrical or building code, but I’m not sure about that. Part of the half-​walls near the entrance still need to be repaired and finished. It just creates a very run-​down look and is no longer inviting or comfortable to be in. Keep in mind, I was most recently there in May and it looked like that; however, the same condition existed when I was there in March. I won’t go back until all the repairs have been made.

Champion’s is currently installing new marble countertops, a second bar type thing around the perimeter of the pool tables, and something which appears to be a stage. I was in there this weekend, and it was pretty much empty. I think the remodeling might be driving away customers, but I think that when it’s done it’s going to look great.
The sections that were finished definitely had a more «classy» feel to them, as did the new coats of paint that they added to the walls. I understand that people might not want to play pool in a pool hall that’s undergoing remodeling (they don’t do work in here during the evening, only during the day when no one is drinking or playing) but I’m betting that in a month or two this place is going to have a great new feel to it. I’ll update again when they complete the remodeling with pictures.
