I really enjoy hanging out at this little café, they serve really good expressos and delicious waffles. There’s only one problem: they have different specials for everyday of the week but you have to hustle to get them, specially the Wednesday special where you’re supposed to get a free waffle when you buy a medium drink if you’re a resident. I just don’t see the point to have that special if you’ll always give customers a hard time. It makes it awkward

They have specials but they don’t make it clear what the details entail and it creates an awkward situation. The special in particular is the free waffle on Wednesday with 16oz drink purchase. If I’m a resident of Raleigh doesn’t that count? Again, it’s not clear so I hear different things from different servers. Great coffee, waffle and some times the music too(when they play Enya at this moment) This special in particular would be a good one if it didn’t seem like such a hassle.

Once you figure out the parking situation this place is awesome! Either find your way to the underground parking lot or turn up the first street on the left. After seeing all the tasty waffle pictures on Unilocal,I knew I would not be leaving without sampling a waffle. Yum! The waffle was delicious, I love the plethora of toppings you have to chose from. From savory to sweet, you can really make your waffle whatever you want it to be. I went with the classic banana and nutella combo. I went in on a weekday morning and service was super friendly and efficient. The drink menu is what you expect to see at your standard coffee shop. I appreciate that they ask you if it is for here or to go so you can drink your coffee out of their mugs instead of a paper cup. I also learned that the whole place is pup friendly! A big plus in my book, I will be back with my dog in tow!

This place was not what to expect when it comes to sitting down in comfort to enjoy your food. And they had pets in the building with the food. I love animals but not with my food. Food is good.

Great meeting place in Cameron Village with charm(and of course some great coffee). I decided to get an iced latte and the Madame waffel, both of which were delicious and made with quality ingredients. The staff members were polite and you could tell that they thoroughly enjoy their job. I will definitely be back to grab a coffee from Benelux next time I’m in Cameron Village!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time because I am a big waffle lover and well I am glad that I finally checked this place out! We stopped by Benelux on Saturday late afternoon and they were pretty busy(many of comfy seats/big tables were taken by others), but not too bad. To me, this place reminded me of many hipster/liberal/modern ish cafes in big cities– I loved their atmosphere and really liked that coffee beans wall art. We ordered two de Madame waffles(Fresh strawberries, whipped cream and powdered sugar) and ice coffee for me. After few mins later, one of their staff brought our waffles and coffee to our table. Our waffles were so good and I loved that strawberries and whipped cream! I know, I probably shouldn’t love whipped cream this much, but whatever, I love it! Their waffles were very soft and did not taste too sweet, but just perfect– whipped cream and strawberries on top made everything even better and I liked the fact that waffles were not too big but big enough that it made my belly pretty full by the time I finished my waffles. My coffee was ok, I usually drink black coffee, so I ordered regular black ice coffee but maybe I should’ve ordered mocha latte or something different. coffee wasn’t too impressive but again, their waffles were really good and it was beyond my expectations. If you are feelin too lazy, don’t feel like cooking breakfast on the weekend, I highly recommend you to try Benelux Coffee! I loved their delicious waffles and unique atmosphere! Can’t wait to visit them again!

We arrived in the mid morning time frame and the place was pretty busy. We ordered our food and drinks. The lady asked if we wanted it to go or for here. I responded that we may eat here, only if we can find a seat. She responded«do you want it to go or for here?» I told her to make it to go and if we find a seat then we will eat it here. She asked my wife if she wanted syrup with her waffle and she said yes. We got our drinks, and to be honest I felt like I was drinking warm milk with a little flavoring in it. It was like they forgot the espresso. We received our food, and it was ok. Nothing great, but not bad either. They forgot my wife’s syrup, so I went to the counter and asked for syrup when the same lady told me that her waffle doesn’t come with syrup and they usually charge $ 1 for it. I told her softly that we ordered it with syrup, remember?” She then said«Well I didn’t prepare your waffle» and handed me a small thing of syrup. I got back to our table and finished up our food. I collected the dishes, and brought them up front. The same girl asked me in a cheerful mood, «How was every thing?» And I responded«Well,» and she cut me off and told me she was glad we enjoyed it. Coffee — would have enjoyed a k-cup more Food — Average Service — below average [every one has bad days] but we won’t be returning. Jubala is what we are accustomed to.

A fun place to go with yummy waffles and selection on toppings! The waffle wasn’t very filling or big though, so a little overpriced. Had to wait a while too.

3.5 really. It definitely doesn’t have the same feel as it did back in City Market(which I suppose you can’t expect to find in Cameron Village). It’s a good place to study, though it seems there is limited seating for the size. It isn’t usually an issue except on weekends-get there early on Sunday to avoid the church crowd. I don’t have the waffles too often but they’ve been good. Coffee is decent, although never very hot so you have to drink it quickly, and free refills are nice! It seems chronically understaffed; I don’t know if this is deliberate or not, but the last time I went, on a Sunday evening, there was one poor girl working by herself even though it was fairly busy. I worked in cafes for a while and I definitely would never want to be the only one working.

Always seems crowded, staff isn’t overly friendly and seen a bit snobby and it takes a while to get a drink. Coffee is nothing special.

I ordered a café latte it was done very well. I also had a waffle nothing spectacular. The people were very nice and welcoming. I asked the barista behind the counter about some coffee tips and she was very in formative.

Oh wow, was I disappointed in this place. I ordered the waffle with whipped cream and berries. It looked beautiful, but it was SO dry I could barely eat it without downing an entire glass of water. The drip coffee was so bitter, I ended up just leaving it. Even worse, the atmosphere was so unpleasant! Cavernous, echo-y, harsh overhead fluorescent lighting, awkward seating arrangement… it felt like sitting in an airplane hanger. I lived in Holland for years, and this place is the polar opposite of a true, gezellig(cozy) Dutch café. :(

It’s a nice little coffee shop which also serves waffles. The artwork which you can find on the left(with a bicycle and Benelux) is made out of coffee beans ! That’s innovative. The wifi is definitely fast. 750MB Garage band software took about 5 mins. It is definitely a nice place to catch up with friends. I won’t be thrilled about their waffles. We ordered the popular one(Madame) and found the waffle to be a bit doughy. Their quiche was average. However, their coffees and chai lattes are really good. These guys do a good job on latte art. I would recommend their lattes and chai lattes. Their staff are amicable. I have been here twice and I didn’t find it hard to find a place. Pooches are welcome which I find nice. Tip: If you are coming here for the first time, you will find parking if you take a left at lights(after you pass Benelux on the left that is). then take the first left. Drive for a bit and you will find covered parking. Bottomline: Good coffee and chai(s), good wifi, «Nothing to rave about» Waffles and covered basement parking

Almond King Latte FTW! Not sure about the parking situation, as we struggled to find a spot in the garage before taking a fitness class next door. Might be tough to pop-in here for a quick coffee on-the-go if you’re in a hurry. But staff was friendly & made my delicious latte in a jiffy.

I’m not sure if it was the missing beanie or missing MacBook Air, but I stood at the counter for five minutes with no one in front of me and was never acknowledged. Four workers were chatting behind the counter on Sunday morning around 10 am and never even looked at us. I had frequented Benelux when it was in City Market and always had great service. I’m hoping this was a fluke, but not sure when I’ll be back to try it again. I’ll wear a beanie next time.

Benelux is located in a convention location in the Berkshire Cameron Village building. Whenever I need a quick jolt of caffeine after dying next door at Flywheel, Benelux is a good pick me up. The atmosphere is warm, casual, and hipster. Benelux is much better than the other option nearby — aka Starbucks. The coffee, lattes and tea are delicious. However, the service is slow, and everything is way over priced. The quiche is also nearly flavorless and dry(I’ve given it multiple chances). If you’re in the area, Benelux is fine to stop by and get a cup of Joe. However, I wouldn’t go out of your way to go.

Ehhhhh. I guess if you’re riding in on a fixie and want to swap beard stories, you might like it here. I’ve been a couple of times. The coffee was not great, nor was the food. It was kind of loud when I was there. A lot of kids and hipsters. I couldn’t really get anything done and had to go.

9am crew on 11÷25÷15 was terrible lol… We had tried benelux a few days prior and the barista we had was sooo sweet and made us the cutest lattes with adorable art upon request. My sisters and I were so excited by this that we raved to our parents about trying this place. So come 11⁄25 we all woke up to get some Benelux with cute latte art. 3 lattes ordered and no line, not a hard request. The cashier asked my mom if she wanted whipped cream, my mom said no, just a cute flower latte design, and me and my dad ordered the same. The strawberry blonde girl taking our order acknowledged us all and then handed our cups to the barista.(Brunette wearing a hoodie with a bun in her hair) idk what this girl was doing back there but 3 lattes later there was absolutely no art to be found, just messy foam. Except for my mom, she couldn’t see because they put Whipped cream on hers despite her saying she didn’t want it? I know it’s petty to be mad about latte art but our parents just wanted to enjoy the same experience that my sisters and I had the day prior, theres nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy the little things in life. No our day isn’t ruined cause Benelux coffee is still amazing and I will be back, but if I see these 2 girls behind the counter I think I’ll turn right back out the door. I’ve worked at a restaurant as an all around worker, and I’ve worked at Starbucks which is a way more intense coffee shop to work at so early in the am, that doesn’t have the pleasure of getting to do custom latte art. I know the difference between when an employee is having a bad day and when they’re just blatantly poor workers with no sense of good customer service :) no reflection on the coffee shop itself cause again it’s great but too bad for these girls that don’t enjoy their job enough to actually do it well.(Pictures posted separate) ((I know my Unilocal review doesn’t mean anything and that they make fun of people like me on southpark, but if you’re gonna work in a fun customer service job, at least be nice.)

Good almond latte and I LOVED the special speculoos & cream waffle… I’m a sucker for anything with cookie butter! Seating felt quite limited, or maybe it was just so popular that morning that there weren’t any tables immediately available. Although the waffles were good, they took probably 20 – 30 min on a Saturday morning around 9:30am, so definitely don’t order those if you’re planning to just pick up and go.

Last minute decision to eat out for breakfast and waffles being the cuisine of choice led us to this fantastic experience. My daughter ordered a Belgium waffle with real grade A maple syrup. The waffle was crisp and so tasty, I had to steal a couple of bits. I am not normally a big waffle fan but will definitely order one next time we are here. Syrup is just one of the many toppings you can order and not even a ‘true’ Belgium choice(the nice gentleman behind the counter educated us on this tidbit). In addition to her waffle, kiddo had a small hot chocolate was absolutely delicious and served with a pretty leaf in the foam since she skipped the whipped cream. The small was a little bigger than she needed but drank all of it none the less — they have a smaller petit size which would be good for her next time but again — there were no complaints. I had a large pumpkin spice coffee, the large is huge which I greatly enjoyed with the complimentary Biscoff while writing this review thanks to FREE WiFi. Overall great breakfast in a cool location. Love the huge mural made entirely out of coffee beans.

After their move from city market to cameron village, I think they lost some of their charm. The interior is very pretty with a huge coffee bean mural on one wall, but the space isn’t as cute as it used to be. For being a coffee shop their coffee is just pretty good, not great. The king is my favorite order and their waffles are extremely tasty! Great spot to enjoy a warm beverage and do some homework.

One of my favorite coffeeshops in the area. Simple menu, and great great coffee. Super hipster looking – beautiful bicycles adorned on the walls, and a huge mural on one side made of coffee beans?! count me impressed. Very relaxed atmosphere; people just studying, reading, doing their thing in a great hangout spot. Their coffee is not only delicious(i got the café latte with caramel) but it’s gorgeous. I was sad when I saw my boyfriend get our latte in a to go cup because I expected them to only do the latte art in the mugs, but he actually opened up the lid and we had our latte art in the paper cup too! There’s a lot of attention to detail here and it clearly shows. The latte was smooth, not too bitter, and very satisfying. I’m definitely coming here again.

The coffee is locally roasted and so fresh and robust always smooth and never has that burnt after taste. The baristas are friendly and take much pride in the present and the preparation of their delicious coffee concoctions! A must try cool little coffee and waffle house when in Cameron Village NC.

Really enjoy this coffee shop just around the corner from Carr Mill — and I am really glad and impressed with the improvements and new businesses around this area, when I lived in NC back in 2011 this neighborhood was completely different. Came in with a friend for a boost of energy on a Saturday morning after a long night out. While enjoying the«hipster» décor I got to choose my iced latte. They have many options on the menu from smoothies to milkshakes. Place looks ideal to work or study, in one of the tables available outside. Service was not the best but it really did not matter that much.

A beautiful coffee shop to grab a drink, catch up with friends, or catch up on some work. Wifi is fast and reliable– something I was always concerned about when I was a student. Plenty of seats inside and out. It never gets too crowded. Super friendly staff too! I’ve tried their lattes and mochas– both are sweet and strong! I haven’t tried their waffles yet(because my main purpose of coming here was to get majorly caffeinated) but I noticed a lot of people come in for them! You can definitely tell when they’re making one cause the waft of waffle smell… Mmmmm *drools* Anyhow, atmosphere is very chill and modern. I will warn everyone that they make it really really cold inside so bring a jacket!!! They have plenty of pastry choices but I look forward to experiencing one of their waffles when I return!

I miss the old rustic downtown location, especially since it seems it’s was easier to park in front of the downtown loc than the new Oberlin street store!(Blame McDonald’s, they decided to buy all the parking spaces. The system.) The new location is a little too clean and perfect for me, I miss the creaky floors, the old, dusty chairs and cozier atmosphere. Anyway, solid cup of coffee, every time. The light roast isn’t as light as I like it, but bold and flavorful(maybe they don’t have a light roast? Hmmm, I like it anyway!) The staff is always sweet,(even if they are a little slow sometimes.) Someone at the store must be a cyclist as a hobby, cycling is a big theme, they even sell gear and clothing. You can even get European cakes, and people rave over the waffles, but I’ve never gotten any. Oh! I appreciate them having a location at the Y. Perfect for after the workout!

I love this new location for Benelux. I must say I really enjoyed their original location in City Market but this new space is pretty awesome and it’s closer for me. Benelux is now in the shopping center off of Oberlin Rd. where the new Flywheel, Faire, and Brixx pizza resides. The space is huge and there is plenty of space to grab a seat, work, sip some delicious coffee and indulge in a waffle if you so desire. There are a few tables outside to sit at too and plenty of dog friendly folks were hanging out while I was there. It’s nice to see the same friendly folks from the City Market location as well. They did a great job with the décor. There is a gigantic mural on the wall made out of coffee beans that’s just incredible, and you will still notice the cycle theme throughout. I’m super happy to see the Raleigh Raw juice vending machine there as well. There is street parking or a parking garage below the business that’s pretty convenient. I’m sure they are going to stay super busy with all the residents living upstairs, I’m a little jealous of those folks who will have an awesome locally owned coffee shop steps from their front doors. We are blessed in this area to have some really great coffee shops, but Benelux is on my top 5 list for sure. If you haven’t been to this new location yet, bookmark it now and get there!
